Yeah, that is kind of awkward, and the sorting ceremony stuff doesn't really fit into the Great Hall that well. I've been treating it as its own standalone that honors 25 years of HP and the origional set from 2001. 10 minutes ago, mark1991t said: Could it be that they left the panels out, because the stonebridge can not connect to the slytherin common room with the panels in. Than the bridge leads to nowhere in this alternate configuration I don't really understand why the stone bridge is even included in that image, honestly. Not only does it lead to nowhere there, but there's also nowhere it could lead to unless its supposed to be some indication of a future set. Quote

joeee Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I am very tempted to purchase the Knockturn Alley set…even if it is smaller than the D2C Diagon Alley. Because Knockturn goes behind Diagon, the height difference will be less noticeable :) Quote

In the movies they have translucent, but still flesh coloured skin and everything. There the blood in red works. The Lego Version removed any colour on every single ghost (i'll ignone cmf Myrtle. She is completely blue, because the light in her sceenes was blue) except for the red blood. That feels wrong to me. Yeah but with their translucency their colours are actually very pale, which would be hard to translate into Lego IMO, so I can understand why they went with grey - and red blood, so it is recognizable. I have no issue that someone who does not know stands in front of my display wothout a clue. To be honest I am also very surprised lego didn't do it silver, because they are censoring so much on movie characters. I did not expect them to give us a blood soaked character so easily readable by kids. Blood on a ghost, who is a dead beeing by default is probably not seen as to dramatic. On 5/7/2026 at 8:07 AM, Gorilla94 said: Fair point. To be honest I think they just changed the colour so it would not be the same as before. I thought about the middle part, too. Could that middle part be replaced to look like in the new version with existing parts in olive green? I think so. Yes, but the part was exclusive to the basilisk so not exactly the cheapest part. The newer version is avaiable in the deku tree, so in another exclusive set but avaiable on PAB for 1,07€, which isn´t exactly cheap either. Yeah and honestly, some of those kids we got with this system, I had no idea who they even are, but still happy they got made anyways, rather then the same students over and over. On 5/7/2026 at 3:05 PM, brickbride said: This. As I've already said before we got pics, the Chamber needs to have a certain grandeur. I still think the 2002 set did the best job at conveying the sheer enormity of it. Here it's literally the size of Lupin's pull-out DADA class! Yeah, but to be fair it was an Set on its own. It looks great for the year it was made and overall even surprisingly well even for todays standarts but could nonetheless use a remake. I was wondering anyways, if we are really getting sets for the new films I don´t think they would make an actuall castle module, so maybe we could be getting actuall playsets for scenes again, so Sets like the the 2002 Chamber. This way it could do some locations/scenes justice better than any castle module ever could - and for this very reason I wouldn´t be to much against sets for the series. On 5/8/2026 at 2:17 AM, Legofan04 said: On a different note, the Bloody Barron, with blood represented, raises the question of whether Lego is beginning (and more willing) to represent darker aspects of the series. Besides that, we get two two-character faces representing characters who are unconscious because their life essence is being sucked out of them, with Sirius in Expecto Patronum and Ginny ( which is new as far as I can tell)in the East wing. Also in the east wing we get Tom Riddle with his face essentially being torn apart, the representation of a petrified animal, and the drugs ( the cupcakes) that were in esscence used to roofie two children which is basically what Harry and Ron do to Crabbe and Goyle so the two can steal the hair and take their place; because of it's problematic nature I never thought lego would include that detail. On top of that, there is the petrified necklace in Knocturn Alley. With such details and references this year, and including the cursed Kate Bell in the Hogsmade last year, I wonder if it makes getting scenes like the cave and some form of the Leaky Cauldron more likely (two things that Lego has yet to do for this theme). It most certainly increases our chances of getting the veil in the rumored Ministry of Magic for September I was never thinking a Leaky Cauldron would not be possible anyways and still thinking/hoping we will get one in the next years. On 5/8/2026 at 7:10 AM, Gorilla94 said: The old hall had the option to remove the lower jaw, so you could have the mouth open to di exactly that. I doubt you can do it in the new east wing with a wall right behind the the pullout room. You actually can, there is a hole in the wall that ends up exactly under the viaduct, so you can place the basilisk there even without pulling that module out. On 5/8/2026 at 5:57 PM, Virginia_Bricks said: It clearly was designed to sit in front of Salazar and fit inside the castle, so I'm guessing it was a budget cut with the windows in the Slytherin Common room. Disappointing, but there has to be compromises. 3 new animal molds probably cost the set the door and windows. Mrs Norris in the preliminary image is the old cat mold, so that might be the trade off right there. New cat mold or the snake door. They also redid the restricted section of the library in the final version and it seems to use more pieces that the preliminary version. That or the Viaduct Bridge took more parts than they expected. Mrs Norris beeing the old mould in the preliminary picture is likely because the new version wasn´t finished yet. I mean in prelims you often see dummy figures, bricks that were painted or marked with edding etc. Quote

They’ve done all the named teachers from the movies now, except for Grubbly-Plank and Burbage, but the former only appears as a substitute for Hagrid in OotP and the latter… you know. Sure, they’ve included Luna in the previous CoS, but she was there canonically while Grubbly-Plank was not a Hogwarts professor at that point, so including her in this set would’ve been pretty nonsensical. Another option would’ve been to pick an interesting-looking random background extra, but what would they have called them? Just Hogwarts Professor? Quote

I doubt anyone knew before the last chamber set that the black lady was professor Sinistra when the box art told us the name. 99,9% of people have probably never heared of Professor vector being the witch with the red hat mentioned only in the lego videogame once. I do not see any issue for Lego choosing the most interesting looking background wizard asking Rowling for a name... I will have all the Teachers in their classrooms, so I'll gladly take any new staff member for the teachers table in the great hall. Edited May 11 by Gorilla94 Quote

The difference is that the names already existed, and the games canonised two extras as Vector and Sinistra, while the Main Tower last year canonised another extra as Kettleburn. The issue now is that we ran out of names I think the only teacher besides Grubbly-Plank, Burbage, Firenze, and the Carrows that was ever mentioned was Babbling, the teacher for Study of Ancient Runes, but that’s REALLY scratching the bottom of the barrel since she’s not even in the books! And making up teachers only for a set is kinda silly in my opinion Also, please keep JK as far away from LEGO as possible Quote

We are literally in a thread where people are complaining about the lack of new professor mini-figures. A new one will absolutely create demand. Not from kids, but from adult competitionist collectors. Proof in point, Kettleburn has the second highest secondary market value of Main Tower mini-figures only behind Nearly Headless Nick. He only shows up in 2 shots in the movies, so even if Binn is cannonically boring in the series there will be demand. Quote

Roebuck Posted May 11 Posted May 11 They must include basically everting from the first book in the series. The first film was 2,5 hours and most was there, I assume the series will have a longer running time in total Hopefully they do not make the same mistake as the hobbit trilogy and spread the butter too thin Quote

mark1991t Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Yeah, me too. Just because some people do not want something, doesn't mean everbody doesn't want it. Same goes with the series. Nobody has even seen it, so why judge it already and why always negative. Quote

Although never discussed in the books, there are a lot more classrooms in the castle, and there was always the feeling that there were a lot more teachers. Perhaps more staff will be introduced for LEGO to make figures of. Quote

Mom builds lego Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Ok, don’t get me wrong I am very excited for the East Wing - but is anyone else disappointed that it only has 4 collectable portraits? Feeling a tad ripped off considering how expensive it is. I mean the Main Tower is less expensive and has 6 and the Great Hall is even less expensive and still has 5! How will I ever get them all? Would be kind of weird to have them in the Chamber or Girls Bathroom so that limits where they can go. Hence why the Main Tower got 6 since it makes sense. The Great Hall just wasted space to put a portrait corridor so rather get detailed interiors. Quote

I agree they might be weird to have in the girls bathroom and the chamber but they definitely could have fit another in the Slytherin common room and another on the right side of the library. Even Hagrids Hut had 2. Back when it was chocolate frog tiles, the Gryffindor dorm had 4. Quote

Honestly, I’ve already sort of resolved that even if the series is decent, I won’t be investing in any large sets for it (I just don’t have the space), but I’d absolutely get minifigures of Binns, Peeves, Winky, Bagman, and whoever else the series does that the moves didn’t (wouldn’t mind book accurate Yule Ball outfits for Harry, Hermione, and the Patil twins either). Kinda makes me hope they’ll do a third Harry Potter CMF based off the series at some point – I can’t be the only fan who’s been around since the beginning who wouldn’t want to buy giant sets of the new series but who loves the books enough to wish they could still have all the characters the movies skipped. Peeves alone would probably sell really well if sold individually, and there’d be plenty of interest in the others as well. Quote

Both the RoR and the DADA class are the most boring iterations yet (no DA training or Fiendfyre, no Lockhart and pixies or Snape Boggart or Moody) yet people bought them simply because the scenes hadn't been done before. That also goes for the Hospital Wing without Pomfrey (but with Penelope Clearwater! A new character!!!!!). How many people are fans of Penelope, Millicent Bulstrode, Terry Boots, or Leanne Nolastname? An yet people were thrilled to get them. 15 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: Of course I’m gonna judge it, as its very existence annoys me It’s a blatant cash-grab.
