Dumbledore’s office looks great. It’s always hard to do the office justice when it’s part of a larger set (like the recent Grand Tower or the 2019 Clocktower). Really like all the little details they’ve included. I actually wouldn’t mind if they did something like this for the DADA classroom or the Gryffindor common room.

I would hope we at least get the Astronomy Tower.

Booknook looks great and nice to see the normal Fawkes in the set..
Have not seen the other pictures of the east wing set yet, can someone point me in the right direction?

Nevermind found them:wink:

Also just realized that in the boathouse booklet it shows an illustration of the owlery attached to the side of the east wing!

So is the castle complete now?

I think yes. Maybe one last set with Astronomy tower but highly doubt it. I definitely don't think we are getting clock tower considering how hospital wing turned out as connection to clock tower would require a side we did not get (and where technically hospital wing was, set we got as Hospital wing should have been Gryffindor Tower).

Connection points on East wing don't indicate anything, we have them on the Great hall too. Also the set next would need to be as big as Main tower set to depict long gallery and central tower without bell towers which would need to be another relatively large set. So we would be looking at two (a massive one and a big one) expensive sets with locations not iconic enough to make sense...

I think the goal was to get microscale castle's silhouette with some enhancements. A bit sad at the same time leaves us some space for not so difficult mocs (especially if you still own previous castle waves sets out of which you get clock tower, astronomy tower and can moc quite easily all three square towers of long gallery, the new book nook actually could be very useful there).

Personally I’m thinking that we will get some more sets.

There will be a challenge between doing sets for the movies and sets for the series.

And that customers don’t mix it up.

I do think with the series coming up and having the potential to run for quite a time and deliver good material, the focus will switch to it. So this most detailed Hogwarts is the ultimate iteration of the movie castle and a big farewell.

But we all know that Lego needs to plan and produce the sets close to a year in advance. They don’t know how well the series will go, or probably at the point of making up their mind, that it already is published at the end of this year.

Therefore in my opinion it doesn’t make sense to start with another movie Castle line (and year 1 again) or already with a series line and I think, also seeing that this castle line is pretty popular, we will get one more year of it (focusing on the later years that there is not so much confusion with the series sets when they come out) and then from 2028 onwards they are going to focus on the series castle.

With this talk about weither or not the castle will expand. When might we expect set information of a further additions to the castle in the January wave? Early September?

Finally pictures of the third "Large" part of "Build the most detailed Hogwarts Castle" System!

I said two years ago that the next two sets would be larger then the first "The Great Hall" with some people completely dismissing this notion!

But it was clear from the outline that I posted back then it would be the only solution!

But I also hope we are not done and get the back grounds as well, After all it's hinted in the new box art! 😉

Both the East Wing and Book Nook are outstanding sets. Dumbledore’s Office really nails the potential of what book books should be - plenty of depth and detail both closed and opened up.

July 10th was for this year's winter wave, but that was the earliest we have had for HP since its return. August/September is more likely. I'm content this is the end (wouldn't mind more, but not expecting it) so might be coming back here less waiting on rumors.

Let's be honest, up until the Great Hall the most expensive play set was $150 (the last Chamber of Secrets). The Great Hall smashed that at $200, so it seemed crazy that Lego would go and release two $250 sets afterwards. Makes you wonder what the future of HP playsets are. Did these big expensive sets pay off or will Lego go back to something smaller?

What are the chances the Diary book is a print and not a sticker? It appears in both the Book Nook and East Wing so I'm hoping print.

Via jjpsleaksite, Brickmerge.de has updated information on the D2C Ministry of Magic. We now have a setnumber 76476 and we have a piece-count 3491, which is lower than the 4000 what was previously estimated.

Disappointing, but not unexpected. It in line with Hogsmeade for size then so maybe we get lucky and its around $400 and not around $500 USD.

Disagreeing it completely dismissing an other opinion now? IMO a discussion lives of different opinions, would be boring if everyone just agrees with the first opinion posted, wouldn´t it? ;).

Well, we don´t have the sales numbers obviously, but overall it seems to have been selling surprisingly well given that it surely isn´t affordable for everyone. But I don´t think that that will play much of a Role for the next playsets, because even with the current system selling well it would make sense to do a smaller system again, so people that weren´t able/willing to afford the current system will potentially buy that one - or might aswell just go completely without a castle system and just normal playsets if they indeed choose to make sets for the series next.

Personally while I’d love an Astronomy Tower, I don’t think it’s likely we are getting any more big extensions. I did have some hope with the rumor of Lockhart’s DADA that it would be possible to get repeat rooms like an OoTP or HBP Room of Requirements or a Slughorn’s Potion Classroom to help bulk out future expansions but now that’s back off the table with it being non existent. And even then, there’s not enough interior left to justify the existence of big expansions, especially ones based on just one book like the previous ones are. Goblet of Fire only really has the Prefect’s Bathroom, Yule Ball, maybe a room for the Goblet of Fire and Aging Line, would be a fun way to get the twins. But this would be our third bathroom, I have no problem with it but it might be a problem for Lego. Order of The Phoenix has Umbridge’s Office and Divination Classroom, maybe a hallway with the rules. This imo has the biggest chance of becoming a set similar size to the Hospital Wing if they decide to do one. Half Blood Prince only has Slughorn’s Office and the Astronomy Classroom but Astronomy Classroom without the Tower would be weird and there isn’t enough rooms from the book to fill up an entire Astronomy Tower especially when you can’t repeat the Potions Classroom or Room of Requirements. If it was up to me I’d just throw the remaining rooms in the Astronomy Tower but I know Lego doesn’t like to mix and match.

Personally think the most likely scenario is that we get an Umbridge’s Office as the GWP this year with the Ministry of Magic and maybe a Divination Classroom standalone set in January to finish up the classrooms and help bridge the gap between this system and the next. But I hope I’m wrong and even if I’m not, this line to me is still by and far away the best Hogwarts Castle they done even if it won’t be complete it’s pretty close.

Agree this is the best and probably final castle line inspired by the movies. (tv show next probably) Glad I went out and bought the expired sets. Hoping for more given the connection points🙏
Not even the microscale castle had all four common rooms, which was a dream of mine.

Assuming they added the connection points in case the sets sell well- what is left?

Astronomy tower, Bell towers, Clock tower, Courtyard, Wooden bridge: All noticeably play big parts in movies 4-7 (not bell tower actually) which none of these main castle sets have highlighted yet

I'm super confused - why are the sets not up on Lego.com or Brickset yet? Not one Lego news site has posted about the pictures...

They haven't officially revealed yet. That will come either 5/1 at 8pm EST or 5/2 at 8pm EST.

Most major Lego sites avoid sharing leaks to keep in the good graces of Lego. Its the social media accounts and youtubers who share these images mainly. A retailer likely leaked them.

I'm sorry, but the most iconic quote of the entire series was RIGHT THERE for Dumbledore's Office, and they chose: 'Your bird... There was nothing I could do. He just caught fire.'

Seems on par with 'I think... someone coming aboard!' :parrot:

Some things I've noticed:

  • Dumbledore gets a jar of sherbet lemons in his office (I love this detail!)
  • Tom Riddle's diary (minifig-scale version) has a printed cover
  • The book in Knockturn Alley is Secrets of the Darkest Arts (I'm surprised Lego went this dark!)
  • The Leaky Cauldron is advertised on the sign (please be a January set)
  • Tom Riddle's alt face is super cool and a bit dark - it shows his memory being destroyed and his face split with the golden glow!
  • There is a restricted section in the library with a globe and a little wooden gate
  • Hermione's book is Moste Potente Potions (love this!)
  • There is a hanging place for Mrs. Norris!
  • The sticker for the CoS entrance sink has the snake etching on the tap/faucet

  • And you can push that one to the back, so you can enter the chamber.
  • Also looks like the Knockturn Alley sign is printed.
  • When closed up, the chairs in Slytherin Common Room are litterly pushed against eachother.
  • The toiletstall doesn't end in an flat wall as stated in a post above, but ends in a cylinder-piece (I don't know how to call it), so there is actually room for a toilet.
  • Looks like Snape has a new black torso, with again printed arms.
  • Dumbledore's arms are printed again.

Yea now seeing the 360 video, there’s actually room for a toilet in there which is great, glad to see that’s the case! The cylinder piece is hollow so there should be room in there. This video just proves to me that the photo of the interior was taken at such a weird angle that really misses a bunch of stuff! Like the Library is so much more spacious than what is previously let on and the Restricted Section has a door which is really interesting to where it might lead, though it won’t be anything substantial. Also the Chamber looks really great in its spot the bed rock surrounding it.

Now that there are better pictures of the sets that can be zoomed in on (thank you @NostalgicBricks for the website link), I can finally form opinions on the sets, and one common trend is that Lego is going darker than I thought they would.

Set 76475 Expecto Patronum: When first seeing the pictures of this set, I felt like it was nothing more than a remake, which there's nothing wrong with since the previous version came out seven years ago (man, where does time go), but there are actually some little details that make it far more interesting. One of the biggest differences with this physical model is the layout. The original had the lake little build attached to one of the trees, and another tree off to the side wheres this one has the trees attached to the open lake area and a little side build for Sirius to lie on.  It allows for the deer patronous to come barging through the trees and over the translucent pieces used for the water. It also incorporates pieces that weren't around in 2019, such as the superhero little jumper piece ( I don't know what its name is) that is built at the bases for the places for the dementors so it can look like they are swarming the lake and the new wand piece so Harry can "cast" the spell; together, along with the fully built trees) it makes for quite the displayable little build that feels complete. I was skeptical about the price increase, but it feels more complete based on the product video, and the fact that it has double the piece count of the original makes the price easier to swallow. I just hope it's not more than $30 in the US. As far as the figures go I'm glad to be getting more of the new dementors but the highlight is the new Sirus Black figure. At first glance, he was a tad underwhelming, and I wasn't fond of Lego going with sand blue instead of grey like with the original figure. With the better look _ and comparing it to the source material, I think it's a more accurate color. Lego also gave him a new face with one side looking more worn and the other being unconscious print for when the Dementor begins to suck the life out of him.

Set 76471 Knocturn Alley: I'm so glad that we're getting the less prominent shops and their owners. The minifigures are all decent or pretty good. It makes sense that Harry, Ron, Malfoy, and Ms. Malfory are all repeated here, and Madam Potage is good enough ( I've never noticed her in the films and have no idea if her torso is new). Of the three new figures, I'm surprised we're getting Borgin, who only showed up in the Chamber of Secrets deleted scene, and love Hermione's new torso. Like Greyback and understand what they were going for with the hair, however, not a fan of the braid piece for him and will be giving him the slicked back here. Love all the little details, such as the hand, cursed necklace, little place for Harry to come through, like he's traveled by the floo network,  the build for the vanishing cabinet (which hasn't been seen since 2010 :pir-wub:) and the wanted poster for Amycus Carrow. The one detail I'm curious about but can't  tell, is what's on the Borgin's "fireplace.  Is that circular tile supposed to be the locket?

Set 76473 The East Wing: Wow, the pictures on Reddit of this set don't do this set justice. The outside looks great but the inside is far more spacious than I thought. I can't believe that LEGO included a place for a petrified Norris and a Bloody Barron with actual blood printed on him. The figures are great, and I'm surprised that Filch gets a new outfit (different from his Owlery one) and that Hermione has a cat face print. Given that the cup cakes that Crabbe and Goyle eat are also included, I hope that we get them as alternate faces for Harry and Ron. Also seems that Draco got a new face print, which is an interesting choice. The Basilisk looks great and, in my opinion, blows the 2021 one out of the water, and I love the flying Fawx. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but does he have a spot for the figure to hold onto?  As far as this being the last expansion, I doubt that it will be, honestly. I feel like the next reboot of the castle will be based on the show, but that Lego's going to wait until it proves itself. Lego has lately been more risk-averse, especially with WB and Marvel projects, with the Superman film not even getting a LEGO set. The earliest I see sets being based on the HP series is 2028, as the first season doesn't come out until Christmas, which is too late to put sets based on it into production for 2027. Plus, with the focus of this castle being, so far, the first two films, they aren't going to have really anything new (castle-wise) to cover, and it would blend in too much with the sets currently coming out (since the show doesn't visually look that different.

Booknook Dumbledore's office: I'm so conflicted on the set. I'm satisfied with the office in the main tower (which I do think is the best system version yet), but I love all the details.

I'm not interested in any of the builable creatures ( besides Dobby, who looks kind of good)

Its a galleon. There's also one in Pottages. Came first in Hogwarts express and Hogsmeade Station.

There is an antistud so technically Yes, but sadly figures can not clip onto him, as I incorrectly pointed out last week.

Well shoot that's a disappointment then on what is otherwise a pretty good molded piece.

Dang, I completely missed that. Oh well, at least I bought the girls' bathroom set; just have to find the baggie the set is in. Is that a new faceprint for young Ron? It's not as dramatic as the scared expression that he's been having.
