The size of the build and the number and complexity of play features are substantially reduced, while the proportions and exterior finish are improved. This would be a smashing good set for $100, but it's awful price gouging at $150. I will give them this one specific point- $130 in 2020 is a little over $160 in 2026 dollars. It's slightly cheaper. Now, does this slight cheapening excuse the downsizing and play feature differences... I would not say so, no. Had this been $130 in 2026 dollars I think it would have been OK, but as-is it really needed more to justify that flagship price point. 50 minutes ago, Alex_South said: lol the chicken walker grogu doesn't come with the beskar dinnerplate, gotta get the RC if you want beskar printed grogu lego knows how to play the game I'll give them this one as well- it's nice to be able to get the more iconic version of baby yoda in the new design. The AT-RT set is certainly something. I assumed this would be a super battle pack a la the 327th pack, but that's not even the case. Rather than 4 minifigs and 3 droids (for an already overpriced set) it's two minifigs and a baby yoda. As for the builds themselves: the AT-RT will depend on when I get better images of it in the movie. I like that they've evidently strapped a V6 to the back of it, that's hilarious. The legs are an improvement upon prior versions but the front shield has lost some of it's shaping accuracy. I appreciate the remnant's commitment to branding in slapping the label on this dilapidated 30 year old walker. The turret will entirely depend on whether or not it's explicitly a DF.9. I hope not- maybe it's the main body of a DF.9 but the head was blown off in the battle of hoth and the remnant threw a different weapon on top- but if it is meant to be that classic hoth turret, this set's giving the E-web in the crest a run for it's money. WE DO GET A POTENTIAL NEW TROOPER VARIANT THOUGH! "Imperial Remnant AT-RT driver". It looks pretty similar to the tank driver, but has a fully white outfit instead of the black body glove underneath. I'm a sucker for the tank driver/shore trooper/range trooper/AT-ACT driver helmet style so I will eagerly be watching this guy's bricklink price. And of course, that $45 price... the mando sets seem to be higher prices than even the 2025/6 standard for the theme. Their overconfidence is their weakness- I just can't see anyone paying $45 for Mando and Grogu with a small vehicle when they could get both characters and a small vehicle for literally 22% of that price. Like the $130 baby yoda, lego's competing with their own product that'll be actively on shelves. I unfortunately think the merch for this movie is not going to do well, and that future films may suffer as a result. (Though not Starfighter luckily- with only a year between the release dates we should be fine.) Quote
Llewop Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I like the atrt set but at that price not so much. Noticed there is a connecting point at the base of the turret which suggests to me that this could connect to another set? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Hooray, new trooper type!! And it’s cool to see that helmet piece again! And I got my wish already with a regular Grogu print Quote
CloneCommando99 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 *Looks at prices* Well hopefully the inevitable TIE Avenger won’t be price gouged. (Day #291) The thing is. They are all good sets. Just at least 25% more expensive than they should be. I do like the AT RT set. And the fact that it’s not a super BP suggests that an imperial remnant BP is still on the table for this year. (Also we may be getting a imperial base set looking at those pins on the turret, which suggests there’s a few M&G summer sets we don’t know about) The AT RT driver is fantastic. Zeb is gorgeous. And Sigourney Weaver. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Huh, I wonder why the RC seemed to have bright light yellow accents in the first image, but regular yellow ones in the other pictures. I don’t think it’s the saturation since the other colours look the same between the two versions I kinda would’ve preferred bright light yellow, but regular yellow works too! Quote

You know what that means... Shoretroopers may be back on the menu, boys! Leaks aside, the new Mando sets are supposed to be officially revealed this thursday, by the way. Quote

I am struggling to get excited for more mando and grogu content. The new grogu mold is nice, prices are crazy. Everything just feels reused, we have had both these sets in the past few years. i would like stuff we have not seen for more than 5 years please, or new things (not smart beickified). Mostly excited for the other leaked list. Also Zeb is a great minifigure, good prints, good colors, dual molded. Quote

I know most prefer sometimes the older sets, but as someone who returned to Lego a few years ago this is a great new Imperial Shuttle. I have the Imperial Landing Shuttle from the late 2000s, but I have wanted a traditional one too. So instead of buying used and often well above retail on the secondary market, I get something new and often designed better (if downsized, but I don't mind that). I don't want another X-Wing though, but Carson Teva would be wonderful addition. Hopefully its his blue X-Wing. Quote
Kaijumeister Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Conscious I’m being quite negative but these TMaG sets really aren’t doing anything for me so far. I’m hoping the June lineup is a little more exciting. Great package art and perfect new Grogu figure though. It’s interesting how the film logo they have on the side of the boxes is the old, generic one rather than the latest pulpy one. Quote

Generally Mando and Grogu are not the most interesting characters to put it mildly. For me the drought continues. I would like to buy some Lego but there is just nothing there. Quote
Meaf Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I like the look of the new Razorcrest, if it was cheaper I'd definitely consider picking it up since I still don't have one. The other sets don't do anything for me though, and in the case of the walker and turret I really feel like an extra minifigure or two (even if it was just a stormtrooper) would have gone a long way in making it feel like a less terrible value. Quote
Kit Figsto Posted February 10 Posted February 10 The AT-RT set looks like a really fun set...for $20-25. Insane that they're charging $45. Ten years ago, we had a Hoth battle set that reminds me a lot of this (small turret, probe droid, and a decently big terrain section) that was $25 and came with three minifigures. I'm not unaware of inflation, but this is just price gouging, considering we're at almost double the price for effectively the same exact sized set. Quote
Llewop Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I like all the sets just not the price. Will probably wait for a sale. I’m curious about what the turret joins with in the AT-RT they don’t list put a pin in a set unless they are planning something. Hope it’s not the ATAT set though as that would be weird having Mando in an AT-RT then also (I’m guessing) in the AT AT set when they are joined up. I think there must be another like bunker or trench or base set maybe even a BP something coming soon. also picked up the new battle packs today. Argos has them 2 for 20 which 10 each is a bargain or pretty much get two for RRP (£18) it’s not a bad set just clones are wasted here should have been more mandolorians Quote

Two minifigs, a baby yoda, and under 300 pieces We could still get a battle pack in the august wave, but I don't think the ball joints on the turret imply a new set, I think they're there to help kids open the turret. For one thing, a pair of ball joints seems like a somewhat strange method of connection modular segments compared to technic pins. And if it does connect in this way, it'd block people from opening the turret while it's attached, which would seem like a design flaw. 7 hours ago, BrickPrick said: This could be the second time I only own the christmas version of an desirable character for half an eternity. Shoretroopers may be back on the menu, boys! It would be a funny coincidence. Though I'd hope Tarkin shows up in a system set soon. The reappearance of this mold does at least make it possible we'll see shoretroopers again. And it's the Rogue One anniversary this year... and the death trooper mold is back... taken separately none of these mean anything, but together... there is a chance something's coming. 5 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: And the mysterious 14+ set is supposedly the Imperial Shuttle. I really don't think the ball joints mean there's an imperial base coming for the above reasons (why use them instead of pins, why have them in a spot preventing you from opening the turret while connected?) Probably some light AI upscaling or something, but AI can't create a LEGO set where you can pick out every piece like you can with this one. Likely just a preliminary box setup considering the red line where folds would be, etc. Quote

I don’t think it’s a stretch otherwise why is the joint there? Look at how the letters blend together on the name. You're right. Definitely not great, sort of a weird mix. I think they either should have gone with a full imperial remnant complement (in which case a shuttle pilot instead of Mando and maybe a dark trooper instead of Fennec) or the scene from when they attacked the shuttle in the show (So Mando, Cara, Pershing, a shuttle pilot, maybe throw in Boba and/or some stormtroopers). 4 hours ago, Llewop said: That’s the one ball joint couldn’t think of the term. For me there is definitely another set coming linking to this. Yes, the two ball joints. Let me restate why I don't think they're part of a modular system: 1. They are ball joints, not pins. I can't think of a single time lego's ever used ball joints to connect two different sets. They typically use pin connections. The mixel joints have a lot more friction on them and are harder to quicky remove than pins- I don't see why lego wouldn't just use pins. 2. The ball joints are placed in such a way as to open the turret. Looking at the turret, all the other bricks make a clean face- there's no other easy way to open it up. It seems like the ball joints are there to help kids open it. 3. Tying into #2, the ball joints are placed in such a way that were it to be connected via them to another set, you couldn't open the back of the turret. This seems like a design flaw- why not place the pins on a different side? Quote
Alex_South Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I wonder if Rotta will fit in the Anzellan starship. I am very curious about the upcoming imperial shuttle, based on piece count and price it should be a step forward from the 2015, and I bet it will scale with the new RC. I am also wondering if they can find a way to do the Sandcrawler so that is looks good next to the RC, if it can just manage to be taller and about the same footprint I think it will look good. 22 hours ago, Mandalorianknight said: I'll give them this one as well- it's nice to be able to get the more iconic version of baby yoda in the new design. agreed, I actually do think this is a great wave for the movie, it has so many different buy-in points for anyone that sees the movie and wants to get something from it. And for collectors its nice to have more variants. Quote
