minifgure_fan Posted August 3, 2010 I just felt like I needed to post this, yesterday I went to TRU and bought Preston Stormer. When I got home I opened him and what do I find? They put in an extra one-piece arm and forgot to put in his chest armor! I think it's pretty rare to get something that according to Lego, happens in every millionth set. -Minifigure-fan
TheWarden Posted August 3, 2010 Eh, it happens. Just point your browser at LEGO.com, hit "Customer Service" and fill out a missing part request. What else is there to discuss?

This is the sort of issue in which TLG would most likely end replacing the part if you request so.
Aethersprite Posted August 4, 2010 Since we're on this topic, does anyone know what to do if a missing/defected/wrong piece is found in a set outside the States or Europe? I live in Singapore. Just wondering.
Front Posted August 4, 2010 Since we're on this topic, does anyone know what to do if a missing/defected/wrong piece is found in a set outside the States or Europe? I live in Singapore. Just wondering. I would think you should still use costumer service on LEGO.COM To my knowledge it's a global service
Blackicep8ntball Posted August 6, 2010 I think it's pretty rare to get something that according to Lego, happens in every millionth set. Huh -interesting. Yeah, it's gotta be pretty rare. Between my brothers and I and the countless sets we've purchased, we've never so much as found a box with one missing piece. Your mix up sounds like a much larger scale. minifgure_fan Posted August 11, 2010 Yeah, and I'm glad I found it, because if some 5-year old had asked his parents to buy it, anfd then found the missing/extra piece, they'd be like " What the heck is going on? "
Captain M Posted August 12, 2010 I've had a few packaging errors, though there are only two I remember. In one set, I think it was one of the agents set, I got 1x4 dark green brick instead of some part, and in an Exo Force set the instructions weren't stapled. XimenaPaulina Posted September 8, 2010 (edited) I think it's pretty rare to get something that according to Lego, happens in every millionth set. Then I guess the one you got was the rare but unfortunate 'millionth' set. But I understand where your coming from minifigure_fan, finding a missing piece really ruins the excitement of building a newly-purchased set. Yeah these incidents do happen, and it's just an email away for a replacement part, but you really can't enjoy the set that you bought until you get the replacement, which takes some time to arrive. Bionicle Stars Tahu was missing a leg for me Ooh, that's pretty bad, you got a leg-less Hero! Tsk, tsk, TLG has to do better with this issue, a missing major part is not like the usual missing minor parts that you could readily replace. Fikko3107 Posted December 12, 2012 Since we're on this topic, does anyone know what to do if a missing/defected/wrong piece is found in a set outside the States or Europe? I live in Singapore. Just wondering. It's absolutely disastrous! I bought a brand new product collection from Japan, containing a Naboo starfighter, a Battle of Naboo and a Clone trooper battle pack. I only opened it when I got back to my country Indonesia of course. the latter 2 sets were OK, but the Naboo starfighter had a 1x4 brick with 3 peg holes with 2 partially chipped studs! In an act of desperation mostly fueled with (in)sanity i contacted customer service. it doesn't seem like they could do anything about it, but at least they know. DraikNova Posted December 12, 2012 I once got a Surge 1.0 with a trans-neon green instead of trans-yellow core.
Darking Posted December 12, 2012 I once bought a Sky Titan (Exo-Force) and found inside the box all the pieces and the instruction booklet of the Blade Titan. Actually I was very lucky, as I was looking for the second one but there wasn't any on my city. Now that's odd.
ZORK64 Posted December 12, 2012 The Heroica weapons in my LotR Moria set were missing, but aside from that, I didn't suffer any packaging errors. Instead, I got a package update: The Rotor I bought at my local LEGO store had the 2.0 sockets instead of the old ones.

Gatanui Posted December 15, 2012 We once got a fire dept building in 2007 that had a wrong plate but I think that's all the wrong pieces we got. -Gata
