    [LIBRARY] Sails

This library contains 1:1 scans for all the sails of the pirate theme. We are counting on you to help complete this library. The ones we still miss are listed below. If you own one of the missing sails and are willing to make a scan, we'll add them. We will also include custom sails in the library. Please use the same dimensions as the ones in the library, so people can give their ships a facelift by changing all the sails with customs. 3. The great pirate torso LIBRARY Welcome to the biggest pirate torso library on the internet ! The library is providing links to all the great torso designs that have been posted in the pirate forum. Some others have been found elsewhere (main EB forum, brickshelf, ...) and put into the library. Just post your torso/sticker/decal designs in the our minifig customization workshop and we'll make sure it gets added to the library. If you want to try making a torso design yourself, have a look at our how I make torsos in MS Paint tutorial. 5. Dear members, We are proud to announce the opening of "The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy" What's this all about? Some of Eurobricks finest LEGO set reviewers have agreed to teach Eurobricks members the secrets of making a superior LEGO set review. Under their supervision, you will learn the tricks of effective photography, picture manipulation, and the secrets of presenting an interesting and informative review. What's needed to join the academy? You must have at least 3 complete sets (including instructions, box is not a must). These sets can be old or new. You must have a decent camera (no webcam) and know how to move pictures from the camera to your PC. You must have enough time to follow the courses and work on your own reviews. You must be motivated to learn how to make the best possible LEGO set reviews. What's to gain? You will receive a free course from some of the best LEGO set reviewers on the Internet. You are given access to a hidden forum on Eurobricks (The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy). You have the chance to earn a special Eurobricks Reviewers tag upon graduation. Some graduates may have the opportunity to become a "teacher" (and moderator!) in the academy (conditions explained in the academy). Please post in this thread if you would like an opportunity to participate in this exciting program! Everyone who's a member of Eurobricks can join when he/she meets the requirements listed above. I would like to thank everyone who helped these past weeks to make this possible by working on the courses, graphics and the concept.
  6. Survey: New parts and new colors Together with my fellow ambassador CopMike I'm running this survey to find out which new parts and/or new colors you would like LEGO to produce. We guarantee your feedback will be delivered to LEGO via our various channels, so here's your chance to be heard! Only make one post in this thread per member. If needed you can later edit your post and add more part requests and/or color requests. To make our lives easy, please use this structure to present your idea's: Part 1: - Part name: - Part description: --> use any means you think necessary to explain us what you have in mind like drawings, pictures from the Internet, words, etc. If we don't clearly understand what you mean we can't present your suggested part to LEGO, so do your best! - Part usage: --> explain why you believe LEGO should produce this part. Why is it important to you and potentially others? Part x: --> you can repeat the process for additional parts ########################################## Color 1: - Code Name: - Color code: --> we prefer an html color code (example: #00FF80) or any other format we can work with - Color sample: --> please use a graphics program to post a small sample picture of the suggested color (size of the sample: 200px x 100px) - Color usage: --> explain why you believe LEGO should introduce this new color. Why is it important to you and potentially others? Color x: --> you can repeat the process for additional colors The floor is now yours

  8. Being pretty isolated at home for almost a full year due to the Corona restrictions I'm often thinking about the great times we had during the Eurobricks events. It is doubtful if an event will be possible in 2021, but who knows. Maybe a September event might be an option and it certainly can't hurt to dream about it. I have equally good memories of our events in Billund, Windsor & Gunzburg, so I'm neutral to where the next event will be held. Let us know if you have an preference and why.

That's an impossible question for me to answer because I like all of those area's. But when it comes to LEGO I do have a preference for those cool Spanish minifigs.

Yeah, seems there's indeed a problem at peak times (evening time in EU / morning in VS). We are looking into that and are monitoring to pin point the bottleneck. EDIT: Changes have been done. Now let's see if those solve the issue. So far things are looking good.

    INDEX: Islander MOCs

Islanders MOCs Index What is this index for? The Islanders MOCs Index is for all the completed Islander MOCs in the Pirates MOCs forum. How is this indexed? The Islander MOCs Index is indexed in chronological order. Most pictures are linked to the Eurobricks discussion topic, but some of the earlier ones aren't. Anyway you can help? You can help by giving suggestions and informing us about items that have not been indexed. You can ask questions, give suggestions, and inform us about items that have not been indexed in the discussion topic. To what extent is this updated? This index is updated on a regular basis. All of the LEGO Islanders MOCs in the Pirates MOCs forum should be in here, save for very new ones which are waiting for the staff to index them. The Index (The thumbs are the links)

  22. Captain Green Hair and Bonaparte present: The making of the Spanish Imperial Galleon Nuestra Señora de la Concepción Here are some of the pictures we took while building our latest ship. Most of the pictures are taken at my LEGO room, some in the garden and some in Amsterdam at Captain Green Hair's place. I've added a few words for most of the pictures so you can follow the story It all starts with the first brick: The stern under construction: First gun port: Mmmm, let's see how this looks (you see Errorist, Captain Green Hair and Bonaparte): Let's try a yellow/white mosaic for the side of the ship: Good weather? Let's build outside While watching a movie we put the ship on a shelf to see if we like what we have so far: Nah, let's change the mosaic into green/white and tweak some of the other colors: An early stern design: Ship moved from Belgium to Amsterdam for working on the decks: Here's Steven and the Captain (still in Amsterdam): Back in Belgium (my place) - rigging time!!!: Let's try to make a sail: Ready with needle and wire to attach a sail: Et voila, the first sail is attached: Barbecue time: Making more sails with a full stomach (notice the Klingon flag? ) : Making one tick wire for the anchor by combining many wires. Our experiment to iron a printed flag onto canvas: And we liked the result a lot: Finishing the ship (you see Bonaparte and Captain Green Hair working as a team): And here's the end result: More pictures of the finished ship are here.

"The making of" our Spanish Imperial Galleon

The ship is still around after 11 years and safely stored. I was showing this old thread to my kids (my son was born 1 year after finishing this ship). My kids would love to play with one of these old ships so I’ll probably take one out of storage soonish. Next weekend I have a reunion with my dear friend Captain Green Hair and I’m sure that will bring back lots of good memories from the time we were building these ships.
