I am making a new version of the old car chassis from 1980

Here we have the original version:

And here is so far I have came now. It takes time to design it. This one has suspension in the front, but not the original:

My plan is to make the drawings also available for other people also. Maybe a free PDF and a Magazine you can buy with building instructions.

More pictures shall come. It shall have a boxermotor just like the original one but with 6 or 8 cylinders. But that is future. So far it has 253 bricks.

I know that. I have seen them before. One more version that you can get PDF-instructions FREE is welcome I guess. And I shall also make them to a 5 euro magazine with no profit to me. I want my own version.

My model shall have much more parts. I have already i third part of all the parts on that car already. mine becomes bigger.

By the way, I contacted Crowkillers for talking over a cheap magazine to some euro on Amazon over the model they have built. If they allow then I shall use their pictures to a magazine. If they say no then I do not do it.

I have already made a edited version of this car with parts that still is available. 85% is original model but 15% is created by me, for example I had to build a brand new 6 sylinder motor, and new wheels. But except from that... The same car.

I shall make building instruction.

Maybe, instead of making a user manual right now, maybe you should wait, make the car at least 30% yours, THEN make the user manual, A.K.A., Building instructions.

This is my version. AT LEAST 30% is my creation, but I guess it is more. I shall rebuild mine car and try to make a PDF and instruction magazine. It has brand new 6 sylinder motor, new wheels, brand new seats, many upgrades of old stuff, both new solutions and thing for decorating like headlights, turnlights, rear lights, number plate, speedometer and a lot more. The new seats is sports seats with headrest. I also changed the color some places and also some parts for better and more sporty look.

I do not remember tires.

I lost my drawing. Now I make a new model and I make one with a very advanced motor with 8 sylinders boxer and working twincam and fake 16 valves. it is 2 fake valves on each sylinder. It also has working timing belt that shall have a rubber band. The two cams does not get the power from the rubber band but two hidden gears so I always know they will work, even without rubber band.  (rubber band is not on the drawing) The red "box" is air intake.

I make it new technology and make a vintage technic look. So far I have came now:

Helge I'd like to see a picture of your crankshaft? How do you fit the 8 attachment points for your 8 Zylinder boxer engine. For no it looks like a 180° V8 and not a Boxerengine.

I used two crankshafts connected to each other with 3 gears. Actually, this is two 90 degrees series engines, with cams and valves on one side connected to each other. If the cams and valves was on correct place, left and right side, then I would hide the pistons so I did not want, but... It is not realistic with open hole in to the pistons eighter, like it use to be.

In other words: You put 2 hard coupled inline 4 engines into one casing? Thats not a Boxer ;) as a Boxer has one crankshaft. It looks interresting though. Could you provide a cad-file with just the engine? I'd like to take a closer look at your concept

Of course I can.

I can make a motor drawing for you and send. But then you have to download Lego Digital designer and I need your e-mail to send the building manual. I cam make it more real with the cams on correct place and a timing band that drives them.

I have built more. more than 480 parts so far. And I have to use a lot more parts. I wrote that it shall become bigger than the original in amount parts, so... I am soon finish with magazine 1 in building instruction. It shall be a PDF also. I make that at same time I construct it. At least 70% is my construction. I saw one thing. It needed 8 sylinders, because the size and the style. 6 sylinders wood be too little. I have constructed some of the gearbox myself also with 3-speed gearbox and new better gears. I have constructed a new suspension, a much better one. I built it manually with no special modern parts. It has fake disc brakes, and the wheels, they are not old style.

Here you can see so far:

See? It would be too lille with only 6 sylinders. Don't you agree?

I have found the other file of the updated Deluxe version that only has parts that still are available and I shall make a magazine with my own pictures. The drawing was on my other computer. One thing more about the book I already made. I contacted Lego and they had no trouble with that book with their drawings, the model is 36 year old, so, and I even did not have to pay license for it. Now is the book I made legal.

But back to the model I have here. If you want to rebuild your model that you already have or buy parts and build it then all parts are available (796 parts) and I shall make a building instruction with my own drawings that is in magazine format to only some euro on Amazon.

( quotation: "Nice! looks good! What tires are you using?" )

The wheels has order number: 56908 for the rims and 45982 for the tires.

Lego did not have any complaints that you use their content, their 8860 instructions which are free online, which you scanned and want to sell them for 55 USD, all with their logo on cover page?

So do you seriously think that adding front suspension and changing wheels and some colors makes this your creation which makes it interesting to others by offering a 5 (or 55 ?) USD "magazine"? My honest and humble opinion: listen carefully what others are trying to say, let it be as it is and don´t waste your time!

I am having a very difficult time believing this.

And no offense, but your updated model is not nearly unique enough where I think anyone would pay for your instructions. As Bruno said, you are wasting your time trying to profit from this.

I do not take profit. I sell them for the price it cost to make them. But why make this big subject of it? I do not think you make big trouble with people who makes a torrent download and a keygen for Photoshop, so why this?.  This thread is about car that I construct so shut up over that book.

To remind you, this thread it over the car on the picture under:

To remind you:

You brought that 55 USD book (which actually is scanned free instructions) in this topic yourself, and when I asked about it, you told me to "shut up"...? While you got two of your topics locked up, already? Not a nice way to communicate with us.

Just my 5 cents to this thread.

it look like this thread is going in the wrong direction, maybe we have to let a

moderator to lock it before it gets to far ???
