  1. Water, the stuff of life. Arium Major is a vast sphere of water but rocks, the tips of gargantuan mountains, breach the waves. Where there is land there is life. A seed pod of a hardy tree floats upon the surface until such a time it makes land, any sort of land. It can take root even in the hardest of rock and reach up to the skies and sunlight, verdant green leaves burst forth and delicate crystal flowers bloom. Roots that find space limited as the tree grows will travel across voids, probing to find another solid footing to set themselves strong. Once the tree is mature and tall other settlers arrive to colonise the new oasis within the vast ocean. Strange and bulbous fungoid plants will take advantage of rock space too small for tree roots. These feed upon the pollens of the tree flowers and sometimes the small insects that are attracted to the larger flora. Hardy to the extreme and somewhat parasitic, once a single instance takes it's spores will even start growing from the Arbor Crystalis that made conditions ripe for other plant life. A strange hybridisation is taking place here, the small bulb of Ostrum joined with the tree and has caused the flowers to bloom purple. With both the Arbor Crystalis and Ostrum growing, Hook Lillies float over. These flowers, with their green/yellow pads, survive on the sap of trees that drips down during their season. They use the ocean currents to travel around the planet and reach trees during the season they drip their sap. As a migratory flower there is some debate as to whether they are truly plants or indeed some other type of creature. Also evident is the Spiked Peony, an attractive small flower that grows in the soil created from the rock and ocean detritus that the AC creates. The tree growth can powder the rock and provides a catch for sediments washed in by the sea. In the far corner there is also a Citrine Shoot, a plant of noticeable colour and a pleasing lime-like scent. It is true from Terra to the ends of the universe. All things strive. --- Report Ends--- -*- So, I needed some stress relief. Arium Major needed some flora. Looks like we both came out better for it!
  2. A counter to LordDan's attack at L1 The civilian carrying the weapons slipped on the edge of the dock and fell into the river, as he fell, the weapons dropped out of his hands and floated away: Any C&C welcome
  3. The Old Oak The Battle for Cresentthorn's Favor (WZ11:C4) For the Desert King! Deep in the Wither Woods there is an ancient oak, so thick and gnarled that the elves have named it the Father of the Trees, believing it to have witnessed the dawn of the forest. The warrior Kauket had lived her entire life in the hot, sandy, desert lands – she had never seen any trees such as what was now before her. A voice called down from the ancient limbs, “The duel may now commence.” There would be time later to admire the forest, Kauket had a High Councilman to defeat. At the base of the ancient tree, Kauket swung her khopesh at the enemy and let the thrill of the fight carry her to victory. Thanks for having a look :)
  4. I tried a new rockwork technique (for me anyways), that uses technic bricks and pins to tilt each column of rock. And I did a hinging wall again, for the first time in a while, on the tower. It had been another uneventful morning for the two guards stationed at the Noror Watchtower, besides an unusually cold wind, everything seemed normal. The guards were on edge however, for there were many rumours of strange happenings in the north of Mitgardia. It was Kapp, the archer, who first noticed a group of figures approaching the tower. "Look there," Kapp said, "can you see if they're friends or foes?" "They seem to blend into the snow, but they could be clansmen on their way to the village," Svigi replied. As the group advanced toward the tower, it quickly became apparent that they were not clansmen. The odd figures were clad in white, and there seemed something unnerving about them. Kapp and Svigi readied their weapons, and eyed the oncoming band with apprehension. When they were within earshot, Svigi called out: "Halt in the name of Mitgardia! What is your business in these lands?" They offered no reply but kept on towards the tower, Kapp fired a warning arrow in front of the group, but they paid no attention to it, and continued their relentless march towards the tower. By now the two guards were quite sure the menacing squad meant only harm, so Kapp and Svigi prepared to hold the tower. But instead of storming the tower door, one of the party lowered his strange looking axe toward the tower and began making odd noises. The Mitgardians looked on in disbelief as what seemed to be a stream of ice began flowing toward the tower and then surrounding the walls. Kapp realized in a moment that the spectre meant to trap them inside the tower, and quickly headed for the door, calling to Svigi to do the same. They burst outside, knowing only too well that they had no chance of overpowering these new enemies, but determined to give their all defending Mitgardia. More pictures: link C&C welcome

  8. Hi everybody! I want to present you a little scene I build for the Brickset Festive Building Competition. ~ Rudolf stood still on the wide wintry fields. ~ The frozen grass sparkled blue in the dim morning light. ~ Today was the day. Santa's sleigh was already outside ~ and soon the gifts would be loaded. ~ Then finally! He would be able to fly! ~ For the first time - out in the cold windy sky. I hope you all like it! -Skalldyr
  9. This is one of 4 micros I built as prizes for the Guild Creation category of the Summer Joust. This particular model was focused on the landscape of Rauor. Rauor is just a fictional land I made up, and tried to develop the culture and setting of with these 4 micro builds, the rest of which will be posted soon. If you'd like to see more details about the Summer Joust, check that out here: link. Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated
  10. Thanks to de Gothia for letting me place this watchtower in Benoic. Having recently acquired quite a few dark green plates, I wanted to try a landscape in that color and chose to put a small tower/cottage combo on it. There is a full interior, though because of the small size the furnishings are fairly frugal. Both doors are functional as well. The corner stonework was inspired by Dwalin Forkbeard, the cottage was inspired by Legopard, the ‘gear’ mushrooms were borrowed from Captain Flint, and the tower windows were inspired by Gideon. Benoic has many stone watchtowers within its lands to provide warning in case of attack, and also as bastions of defense. This particular tower also has a small cottage to serve as living quarters for the soldiers stationed there. More pictures can be seen on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, your comments and suggestions are always appreciated
  11. This is the third of 4 micros I built as prizes for the Guild Creation category of the Summer Joust. This particular model was focused on a city of Rauor. You can see the first and the second builds already. Rauor is just a fictional land I made up, and tried to develop the culture and setting of with these 4 micro builds, the rest of which will be posted soon. C&C welcome
  12. Location: E02-Jurin II Tags: Building, Vehicle, Piracy, Spying Job: Explorer After a long vacation, MANTIS had another mission for me. Un-like most of my previous missions, this one involved infiltrating an Octan base and gathering information about a chemical that accelerated plant growth. I was thrilled to find that two of my good friends, Isaac Redsyn and Massi Editoro, were also on the same mission, as well as a MANTIS commo. Isaac was of course assigned to be the driver, which was to be expected. What wasn't expected was the vehicle he would be piloting... An Octan hoverplane. So, you're sure you know how to drive one of these things? Of course I do! I've driven tons of rigs! ... Apparently not enough though. Could you get this thing right side up for once?! I'm trying, I'm trying, but it keeps going every which way! Where are the brakes on this anyways? Hoverplanes don't have br- Massi to helicopter, are you guys ready up there? We might be, if Isaac knew how to drive this... Almost, we're getting into position. Stand by for signal. Roger. In position, proceed with distraction. Yes sir! Here you go little plants, drink up! Go, go go! What was that?! I've got it! Go up, go up! Mission accomplished, good job everyone. Now to take it back to the lab for the scientists to test and analyze. A few more shots of the build: More pictures here: Link It was good to do another AG build, after so many castle builds. C&C welcome!
  13. Here's my build for the 1st gatehouse phase in Age of Mitgardia. I wanted to experiment with ground texture, and was inspired by K.Kreations, and Brick Vader. A warrior sets out from one of Nordheim’s outer gates, headed into the tundra of Mitgardia. Gates closed: Thanks for looking, more pictures can be found on my website, link. As always, your comments and suggestions are quite welcome
  14. Thanks to de Gothia for letting me put this build in Benoic! As usual on the farm, there’s much to be done: feeding, watering, and milking the goats, feeding the chickens, and most importantly: heading back to the house for some breakfast. Lots more pictures here: Link C&C very much appreciated

  16. A bonsai tree, complete with a small table and a shallow pot. This is my entry for Swebrick's 'Build a tree' contest. Hope you like it
  17. There is not many Last day tree’s left in the world, I know of only a few and all of them I found in Kaliphlin. Some say that the tree will bloom and shed its petals in just one night before the world will end, but I believe that’s just a myth, like so many other things that surrounds them. Most people fear them, rumour is that even the beasts avoid them, but I also seen people bend before them in respect and praying in the shadow of their crown. I once heard a story that they grew in great numbers as a thick dense forest, but people cut them down for the hard wood, but the dying roots poisoned the land and the great Siccus desert emerged. But then some say the water in the Moruth swamplands in the Darklands once was poisoned from sap of the trees and that corrupted them minds of the people living there. Who knows what is really true? One thing I can confirm, that you get burns if you touch the leaves. I still have a blister that will not completely heal. But I still think they look beautiful, just like so many other tree’s in this world. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  20. This is my Category C entry to Challenge 2. I've been meaning to do a large landscape with lots of tilted plates for a while now. Most of the larger plates are simply resting in place (though they're held there by the stuff around them), the smaller plates by the ruins are all actually attached. As soon as the scouts had reported to Glorfindel that a Black Spire army would be traveling through Skergat Pass, Glorfindel ordered his men to prepare for an ambush. The Mitgardian soldiers were soon concealed along the ridges on both sides of the ravine. Once the Black Spire army was well into the pass, Glorfindel signaled for the attack. Pouring down the sides of the ravine his men had both the advantages of surprise and the higher ground. Without figs: More pictures can be seen here: link C&C welcome
  21. This is my Category A entry for Team Simon. Credit for the tree design goes to Mark of Falworth. Sir Glorfindel had sent two of his scouts ahead to try and find how far the Black Spire had advanced into Avalonia and the best place for an attack. The scouts were walking through a forest when they heard some noise not far away, the two men quickly swung themselves into the branches of a nearby tree. They were barely out of sight when a Drow and Orc commander stepped into view. The two imposing figures then discussed their attack route on a nearby Avalonian city. The route they chose would take them right through a ravine perfect for an ambush. The scouts listened carefully then told Glorfindel of all they had learned. C&C welcome
  22. This MOC was built by my 12 year old brother. After Kendrick pulled Basil out of the river, he made a campfire for them to warm up (or in Basil's case, dry off) around: My brother would appreciate any comments, and especially suggestions for the build
  23. This was built by my 12 year old brother. As Basil was carried downstream by the current, Kendrick sprinted along the bank. Soon he saw a fallen tree trunk that lay across the river. Quickly climbing onto it, Kendrick reached as far as he could, straining to catch Basil as the goat swept towards him My apologies that Basil isn't clearly visible in the pictures, I forget to take a close up of him. He's just upstream of Kendrick and the fallen tree. My brother would appreciate all C&C
  24. This MOC was built by my 12 year old brother. Kendrick and Basil set off once again after a good nights rest at their camp. It wasn't long before they came across some weary knights refreshing themselves by a stream. The captain of the group hailed Kendrick and asked him if he had happened to see any signs of a dragon recently. Rather surprised, Kendrick answered that he had not, and asked if there was a dragon in the area. The captain grimly replied that a dragon had been burning buildings and fields and they were hunting it. My brother would appreciate any comments/criticism
  25. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: trees [Landscape Design], flowing water [Hydrology], and river scene [Geography]= 3 credits Fossgard river is famous for its many waterfalls, the most prominent of which is simply called Fossgard Falls. Many bridges span the river, and Infernum and Glorfindel are now crossing on one of the smaller bridges... "What do you think we're up against?" Infernum asked Glorfindel. "No idea, but I imagine we'll find out within several days. The border isn't far now," Glorfindel replied. "And whatever it is, we'll make it wish it had never come into Mitgardia." This was my first time building a waterfall that splits, and I also tried a new tree technique. All C&C welcome
