  1. http://faberfiles.bl...scontinued.html A few days ago Faber posted a concept poster of Hero Factory during it's early stages of development. The description was later removed as Faber felt it was too emotional and that the development work should remain secret. However, thanks to a 4chan anon and a few board users, we have the full confirmed description which sheds some light on the IFB ending and the original concept of HF. "The last HF episode "Invasion from below" became the most watched piece of content on LEGO's website the year it came out. At the same time it marked the end of the short life of Hero Factory. It was criticised for a lot of different reasons but here are a few personal views on this battered factory." "Invasion from Below" was made on a very low budget by Advance and Ghost who made all the original Bionicle animations. The episode was a struggle because the storyline got changed dramatically during production. It was definitely ment to be continued because (of cause) the Queen wasn't gone and the case wasn't closed for HF. The voice actor changes was done for budget reasons because we didn't have budget for the the original voice actors." "Having worked on both Bionicle and HF from the very beginning I can tell you that the work that went into creating the HF universe was much more deep than the early foundation of Bionicle. We wanted to use all we had learned from Bionicle but make something that was really different from Bionicle yet as epic and big and therefore we created what we called a "realtime IP" meaning that this was not a legend, it was actually happening now somewhere in another galaxy. We wanted to mirror present day but in a tech build-up. In some way inspired by the humor of The Incredibles by Pixar." "The backstory of HF is extremely deep and epic and hold secrets that were never used. They are still in the huge concept bible that I keep. I hope to get to show them and do a extensive blogpost about HF and it's creation on this blog when the time is right. A last note is that Hero Factory was only meant as a location springboard into this vast story universe and the story was meant to get much more personal when the real truth about the factory was discovered. The idea of a factory that builds cocky heros made to specifications was actually a provocation to the whole legendary hero story we had told in Bionicle. The real hero would be found somewhere else...:) to be continued..." Here's the poster depicting a rather superhero-esque robot. Personally it gives me a Rachet and Clank vibe for some reason. Like a lot of other fans I viewed Hero Factory as a mountain of unused potential, and after reading what it *really* could have been those feelings have been amplified by 11. A story and universe that could have been even stronger than Bionicle combined with incredible creative freedom just really hurts as a lost opportunity. I have to wonder if a similar situation happened with Bionicle G2. Discuss what you think on what HF almost was.
  2. Hello all, just thought I'd share some of my Transformers characters built using primarily Bionicle, Technic, and CCBS pieces. Each of my Transformers follows what I would call the typical "rules" of a transformers toy, being that they can each transform completely without removing any pieces - except for weapons. I have many of these already built, but I have yet to take good photos of them. In the meanwhile, here are pictures of two of my favorites, Crimson Claw and Downforce Crimson Claw: A fierce hunter and always loyal to his fellow Autobots and Maximals, Crimson Claw is a natural leader and warrior. He uses his energon saber to slice through enemy Decepticons and Predacons with ease as he calls out commands to his allies. In his Lion-Mode, he can deploy two wing-blades from his thighs to further slash his opponents as he runs through battle. More photos in spoiler below: Downforce: The fastest bot around, Downforce uses his immense speed to scout ahead and inform his fellow Autobots of any Decepticon activity surrounding them. Armed with a wide array of weapons in Robot-Mode, Downforce is equipped for most any situation, should he be intercepted alone while on a scouting mission. His chainsword can rip through heavy armor, while his giant boomerang-shield can be effective at short or long ranges. His dual pistols are there just in case he needs to hold out behind cover or provide supporting fire for his teammates. In his Racecar-Mode, Downforce can achieve speeds greater than mach-3. When traveling this quickly, his tires actually lift off the ground and he hovers, using his massive rear-spoiler to stop him from completely taking off. More photos in spoiler below: I also have a detailed video overview of Downforce here on my Youtube Channel I encourage everyone to check out the other two videos I've posted. They go over two of my other Transformers that I have not taken pictures of yet. I hope everyone enjoys these "MOCformers" of mine. As always, I welcome constructive criticism and feedback. Please consider, though, that these are built mostly out of the pieces I had as a kid and any others I've acquired through my adulthood. I do not, unfortunately, have the budget to custom order every piece I need off of Bricklink and as such, I may not always have the best pieces to accomplish a job, etc. If any of you have ideas for cool future MOCformers builds, please feel free to share! I am always looking for inspiration for the next build. (Also, I hope it's glaringly obvious that CrimsonClaw's lion mode was heavily inspired by Liger Zero from the Zoids cartoon.)
  3. I may be getting the Drop Ship from 2010 but I don't know how compatible with later CCBS hero pilots it really is. Does anyone have a picture of a 2.0 or 3.0 Hero (preferably one with the standard 2011 body configuration and two hands like Surge 2.0) posed as comfortably as possible inside the cockpit? I'd really appreciate it, since I wasn't able to find such pictures.
  4. Hi everyone! This is something that I've been wanting to build since I saw the first images of the Obi-Wan Constracation Figure. I just love that head. So here goes: Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr Mordechai by o0ger, on Flickr I finally got to use some of those dark blue Ben 10 leg/arm-joints as well.
  5. They're not alone on Okoto. Much like the Dark Hunters in G1 a silent association operates beneath the surface of the mythical island, people we don't know the names as of yet. But we know some of the members, and Reegu is one of those. Part of a species living on a faraway island, its kind is well known for their long and weird arms and legs and their stealth abilities, along with their shield-shaped heads. Reegu is not that well equipped, but what it lacks in the firepower department is easily compensated by its outstanding mastery of... the way of the ninja. This is my first MOC ever, can't believe I waited so many years to build one. Is that really crappy? I tried to pay attention to particulars like colour scheme and playability (to hell the yellow feet, I had no better alternative). I'd love suggestions and feedback. Thank you very much for reading and viewing! http://i.imgur.com/7i7jMER.jpg Gallery (literally two images): http://imgur.com/a/ZdhRE
  6. Well, I'm not sure if we have one of these already, but if it does exist, then it's so old that using it would be necroposting. So, what are everybody's favourite and least-favourite masks? In Bionicle, Hero Factory, and anything else? For me, I might as well divide it up a bit. Bionicle Best: The Ignika Worst: Basically any Glatorian helmet that exposed most of the figure's face. Let's be honest, the Glatorian heads weren't great as faces, being all-trans and looking a lot like a certain Marvel Hero, weren't something you wanted to keep on-show. Hero Factory Best: Any of the 1.0/Breakout helmets. They all looked functional, they had their own identity, and they fit their characters. Worst: Brain Attack Bulk. I mean seriously.
  7. Hello everyone, I'd like to introduce my original Minifigures series. While I use the title "Universe", which is based on "LEGO Universe"-- the massively multiplayer online game developed by NetDevil, I also included some other LEGO's original characters who's never been phsycal minifigures due to many different reasons. The parts are designed in 3D modeling softwares, then use 3D printings with ABS. There is still much room for improvement (decals, paintings..... etc), so most of the figures still look pretty sorrowful. Even worse, my camera had problems so I could only shoot with cellphone in super low quality t . If you guys don't mind hurting eyes, please follow this post below. 0) The righteous Natalia Kowalski from City Undercover Natalia, once the most popular reporter in LEGO City, now drives an ambulance to save anyone who has supported her. Previously in the witness protection program, she keeps a low profile to hide from the man she helped put behind bars—Rex Fury, and later begins a complex relationship with her police boyfriend Chase McCain. I gave her number 0 because she was a trial prototype of my decal practices, and she comes without any new mold. I wonder why TLG didn't actually include her in any medical-related set since she's really easy to deal with. 1) The imaginative Doctor Overbuild from Universe As leader of Assembly, Doctor Overbuild is a very intelligent genius as well as rather eccentric, much like the famed physicist Albert Einstein. His passion is building and pushing the uses of Imagination. He spends months at a time locked in his building laboratory, creating the visions in his head. Okay, when I began the project I just found Mr. Kaminoan, a talented MOC designer also made a different version. I only managed to get the paintings without transparency. Dr. Overbuild's design is the most complicated unconventiona; one among the four, IMO he's the one really represening the Universse style among the four leaders. 2) The charming Peg Mooring from The Adventures of Clutch Powers Peg Mooring is a marine biologist who worked for the LEGO Organization. She is calm, relaxed, kind-hearted, but sometimes can be bossy. She is also very intelligent and knows a lot of things to specific detail. Her only issue could be that those immediately coming missions leave her very little time to take care of her beauty. And here is a note, I didn't do Clutch Powers himself because Mr Kaminoan also made him. Peg probably one of my favorite non-physical LEGO female characters. 3) The wicked Madam Frost from Belville Madam Frost, the coldest witch of all, is best known for using ice-type magic and being in charge of the seasons in the land of Cold North. Even hough she tries to have her own remote lifestyle in Frost Forest, she never has a good time with her close neighbor --- the Cold North Royalty. She seems to be an annoying person, but deep in her heart, she wishes to have someone talk with her and share a hot cocoa sometimes. There are actually several different (but similar) witches throughout the Belville history, but Madam Frost is the only noted one in Cold North storyline. It shows that villainess is not very common in LEGO world, especially in girls-oriented themes nowadays. 4) The enraged Rex Fury from City Undercover Escaped from his incarceration in Albatross Island Prison thousand times, Rex Fury is the most ruthless criminal in LEGO City. He's been with different masterminds behind the current crime spree, but unfornately it never works when Chase McCain intervenes. Time for some LEGO City villain variations! We've had enough with those roublemakers from LEGO City physical sets who mostly wear black-white stripes. Rex represents a good image how a nature street muscle ruffian could look like. 5) The heroic Duke Exeter from Universe Duke Exeter is charismatic and brave, serving as an inspiration to everyone around him. He refuses to compromise his principles, and so far he has always been prepared to take on challenges and find a way to achieve victory with honor. Always trusting that the right will win, Duke Exeter also gives everyone second chances. Among the four leaders, Duke Exeter was often the spotlight in most Universe advertisings, and IMO he looks more heroic than most of the physical LEGO characters. 6) The arrogant Lacy from Friends It's not easy to keep the record as the champion of Heartlake City Horse Riding Competition every year. Becasue of this, Lacy, the talented girl never show respects and compassion to her rivals. Surprising to the others, she is actually a person willing to offer helps when she sees people having trouble. Despite having a role in the animtion, Lacy didn't actually get to any of the official sets along with many other generic female figures, as well as Tanya from later storyline. We actually don't really often see this kind of LEGO characters, so it would be nice to have her in order to create more storytellings. Additionally, despite her hairpiece appeas to be generic in the cartoon show, it's weirdly not a physical mold. 7) The decisive Sky Lane from Universe Sky Lane is a Venture League Explorer and former captain of the late Venture Explorer starship. After her starship was invaded by Maelstrom, she could only give up it and escape to Avant Gardens. Her wish is to start a Bowling Night and performs her best moves against her sisters. Well, I made her simply because she was one of the very early characters in the gameplay. I always wonder what the "Bowling Night" could be :p. 8) The sweettooth Frank Honey from City Undercover Frank is as green as they get on the LEGO City police force. He's been given the chance to show his idol Chase around the precinct on his first day, and couldn't be more excited about it. But in most times, his commander Ellie and donuts would make him even more excited. Frank played a successful jackpudding role in the whole Undercover storyline, especially compared to the depressing prequel when Chase didn't get along with his chief. He is definitely a welcome addition to the LEGO City Police scenarios. 9) The valiant Barresh Barbarian from Heroica Raised in the harsh northern mountains of Barresh, the barbarian is as strong and fierce as he is wild. While traveling the world he found out that his home had become overrun by monsters. Now he has vowed to free his people and has started to recruit other heroes to his cause. While Collectible Minifigures already had a Barbarian, I chose to do a version based on the microfig Barresh Barbarian from LEGO's Heroica, one of the discontinued Lego Games theme. He's look is more close to his original design shown in the 3D animation, this includes an actual fur decoration part on his arm. PS, I personally call him "Barret" in my headcanon. :p 10) The fierce Vanda Darkflame from Universe A ninja warrior, Vanda Darkflame's background is shrouded in mystery. Some sources suggest that she was an archaeologist, while others claim that she was a ninja princess. She was once the protégé of Baron Typhonus. One day, the Baron left her in charge of his work while he and Doctor Overbuild searched for Planet Crux. After the fateful event that shattered Planet Crux and created the Maelstrom, Vanda was recruited to form the Nexus Force and later becomes one of the four leaders. I always think some of the Paradox members like Vanda could be reintroduced to the Ninjago series since they're pretty compatible, much to the dismay that Ninjago was once part of the Universe too. 11) The commanding Ellie Phillips from City Undercover Ellie's a real tomboy and a darn fine cop. Her wicked sense of humour comes bundled with a maturity that others her age simply don't have – which could explain how she rose to the rank of Lieutenant so quickly. She's got one ear to the police channels, and keeps Chase informed of anything big that's going down. Compared with Natalia, Ellie seems to be the heroine that players are actually more familiar with, via the communicator. She is also a fairly great addition to physical LEGO Police Stations where police ladies aren't that inspiring :p. 12) The venturous Hael Storm from Universe Hael Storm, the Venture League Faction leader, is a notorious space pirate who plundered many worlds and is wanted on most of them. He is daring and cheerful in times of danger, adventurous and curious when exploring, and fearless and and wisecracking even in the darkest moments. His specialty is the sea and he is a seasoned explorer of all the oceans in the Universe. Hael Storm is my favorite leader among the fours. In his bio he should be originated from a Space theme, but his look is nothing different from an ordinary pirate captain. 13) The sunny Marvin from Friends A country boy living as a young farmer alongside with his father, he's much more capable than most of those Heartlake City teens in his age. He's not sensitive when being with any opposite gender, thus, his feeling for a girl from the neighbor farm is not noticed. Despite being featured in another Friends episode, Marvin also had nothing to do with the physical Sunshine Ranch set. I think he could beat down all other physical male Friends characters, but, perhaps an ordinary country boy doesn't cater to most FOLs' tastes? 14) The refreshing Velocity Lane from Universe Velocity Lane, the sister of Sky Lane and one of The Bowling Lanes, is a professional racer that guide and train rookies who just join Nexus to go on the racetrack. Just like Sky Lane, I chose her due to her likeable appearance. She feels like a good candidate for any LEGO racer-related theme. 15) The dedicated Daniella Capricorn from Hero Factory As the most popular reporter in Makuhero City, Daniella devotes herself to get every single detail from the powerful heroes. She can be truly dedicated by reporting during battles while nearly getting struck. However, she seems to have a very different side of personality when her Camera-Bot is off. Some other technic figure FOLs had tried to capture the physical shape of Daniella, and I try to capture her in a minidoll form instead. The last subtheme of Hero Factory, "Invasion from Below" featured a series of minidroid, unfortunately Daniella wasn't considered to be part of the line. The main defect is that minidolls height is not longer than HF minidroids, since Daniella should be taller than the heroes in the show. 16) The high-strung Bernie Von Beam from The Adventures of Clutch Powers Bernie is an engineer who worked for the LEGO Organization. He is rather nervous at times, and appears to be quite high-strung, although a bit shy. Bernie repetitively tries to gain Peg's attention by supporting whatever she says, although sometimes she fails to notice, embarrassing himself. Bernie is the other jackpudding character in the CP story, and yet another my favorite LEGO guy. 17) The graceful Princess Vanilla from Belville Born in the Royalty Family of Cold North, Princess Vanilla is pretty close to the cold nature. She is born to be a talented ice-skater, and she befriends with lots of arctic animals including Snowy the polar bear. She frequently invites Madam Frost to her parties, but inadvertently provokes her as result. Last but not the least, here is Princess Vanilla, the leading character of the Cold North storyline from 2001 to 2003 and rarely one of the recurring protagonist in the whole Belville theme. Conclusion: There are several reasons why I plan this series. One of them especially be The LEGO Movie. As discussed much in TLM canon thread, the main idea of TLM is to represent real experience of playing physical LEGO toys. Yes, that means any of the nonphysical themes or characters in the LEGO franchise has nothing to do with TLC's marketing trend. Though it makes sense, it's also a denial to all FOLs who have also been supporting the nonphysical LEGO world. But still, why can't the other side of LEGO world be AWESOME too? LEGO actually draws an invisible line to differentiate the two different realms. Other than TLM which was already tied with toy productions and marketings, recently, the success of several LEGO TV cartoon series do bring up some examples that cartoon exclusive characters can reintroduced to phyical sets, such as Dareth from Ninjago series. However, it seems like certain themes or discontinued mediaworks would not be able to have the same treat. The other main reason is the game: TLC is currently running their next MMO game --- Lego Minifigures Online, which is developed by Funcom and also directly based on the Minifigure series replacing the original . And after TLM, LEGO also keeps cooperating with WB and declares their very first interactive video game series--- LEGO Dimensions, which tells about heroes from different kinds of LEGO themes gather together and fight the evil. But somehow, even though both games share similarities with LEGO Universe, in the aspects of game systems or theme crossover ideas, none of both actually inherit the Universe characters or the storyline to give an official end to Universe. It's kinda like LEGO is wasting every single chance that can compensate for the loss of original LU fans. Again, both games have special associations with phyical minifigures, but sadly, at this point LEGO seems not to do anything more for LU. It would have been a good idea--- even if the game deceased, we could still have something left for us. After all, LEGO is "bricks", not "clicks". Several notes to the themes mentioned above: Clutch Powers: Although Clutch Powers was a crossover canon that involves several different LEGO themes, The LEGO Movie canon didn't actually refer to the "LEGO Organization" from this series. The reason may be some plot needs (new quirky characters instead of mature agents), but as mentionted above, it could also be due to the fact that Clutch Powers isn't considered as a "physical" canon. Recently we just got Ultra Agents, a new continuation to the agent themes, where the main hero Jack Fury looks pretty much like Clutch . Since LEGO Organization also happens to be an agent organization, I somewhat believe that Clutch Powers could have been part of the Agent subtheme and storylines if LEGO designers add some adjustments. City Undercover: While being the very first WiiU game, it was meant to promote the LEGO City line, but its influence on the whole City lineup is pretty insignifcant and not even to talk about Dimensions. I believe that providing some Undercover characters or materials along with the generic ones would enrich our conservative LEGO CITY Police line. Friends: As mentioned in Ninjago's example, despite Friends keeps extending their storyline and Heartlake City details as much as other story-based themes do, the original characters/settings from the 3D cartoon and webisodes aren't reintroduced to the physical line so far. LEGO should push it harder if they expect Friends to keep going to appeal their targeted market. Belville: Uhrrrrr ..... you hus know that CMF series introduced "Fairytale Princess" and "Witch" in the recent series while I was still making the figures . Belville has been a pretty underrated theme in LEGO's history, both due to their failure to appeal the market and their non-mainstream figure scale. However, I think Belville could be part of the regular Castle line to make up for the lack of princess side story (not the damsel-in-distress, though) if LEGO can seriously treat this theme. Promotional poster Hope that everyone endured the whole boring post. Comments and criticisms are strongly welcomed. Although I'm not sure if I'd go further to make more, I'd like to know which other non-physical characters (with non-physical molds) or themes weren't mentioned but also deserve to be noticed by LEGO official?
  8. Let me show you a review of set 40116. Set Name: Invasion from Below polybag Set Number: 40116 Piece count: 22 Figures: 1 Year: 2014 The set is quite rare, but I managed to get one in the one of LEGO brand store. Packaging is a plastic bag. Through the gap on the rear side you can see the contents. Let's look at the details. 22 parts for Mecha & 9 for Breez. Instructions is printed on a double-sided color paper. Assembly is very simple. Three spare parts. One of them - a rare "tablet" with the emblem of Hero Factory. Let's assemble minifigure of Breeze. The Beauty One! Side view. Pay attention to the ledge at the back of armor, and later you will understand what it is for. The backrest. Let's assemble Mecha. First is the chassis. Front view. View from behind. Sideways. The pilot's seat. There is a hole in it for a thorn in the armor. That is how the pilot is fixed in seat. Seat can be assembled to Mecha with the help of a ball socket. Full Mecha complete. Sideways. Behind. Slightly above. Breeze takes its place inside the Mecha! Great view full face. A bit on the side. Complete sideview. Let's test how it works! Swing ... Block! Summary: Definitely worth to buy for any purpose and age. P.S. And if you get the item 11289 and attach it to the seat - it will be much better! Bonus photos of improved Mecha. Static. Dynamic. And do not forget about the protection of our younger brothers! Bunny approves ;-)
  9. I've always had trouble gauging how my MOCs look to those with a different sense of aesthetics. Since I feel that this may be a common problem, I'd like to start up a program where, if one person wants to get feedback on their MOCs before they "officially" release them, they can say so here. Meanwhile, if you are willing to give constructive and precise criticism and advice, you can volunteer to do so here as well. To prevent chaos, I would then help match up the people who have asked for help with those that have volunteered to do so, resulting in every MOCcer getting one person as their test audience. What do you think?
  10. Howdy partner I heard you wanted more Bionicle western MOCs Let me help you with that The hat is a BEN 10 Humungousaur shoulder piece flipped inside. The dark tan CCBS shells are from a Chima Figure.
  11. Hello and welcome to my first Review on Eurobricks! I got this Bootleg Version of Breez from my Mom who was in Thailand 2 weeks prior. Since there are hardly any Reviews about Bootleg Figures, I thought it was a good idea to make a Review out of this obscure find. Since I don't have anything like a light box, I "crafted" one myself with a chair and 2 sheets of paper,so I apologize for this low-bugdet decision, I hope you can still see everything clear and sharp. So is this a good copy or does it belong in the trash? Let's get started! Box: Front: Bootleg 2 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr The Front of the box, the figure came already assembled. There's also the instruction manual printed on the backside of the cardboard. Back: Bootleg 1 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr Here we have the Earth Tutelary, War for the invader from Space. Gotta love the broken English these Knock-offs have. Interesting Parts: Special Parts: Bootleg 3 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr Here are the most interesting parts of the set. The Torso bone has an axle connection right under the upper ball joint, which would be really useful for MOCs. You cant really see it here so I made a second picture of it. The Silver Leg shell just states "Hero" on it. The Torso shell has a very cool texture on it which gives it some extra detail. Instead of the 2.0 Head, there are using a red Glatorian Head, also the Headgear has an Axle Connector. Torso-Bone: Bootleg 4 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr The Torso bone again, now you can clearly see the axle connection port. In my opinion the most useful part of this whole figure. Color-Comparison: Bootleg 5 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr On the left side we have the Bootleg parts. The Colors are pretty spot on, but you can clearly see the difference between them, especially on the silver headgear. But the brick quality isn't that bad actually, its quite good for a Bootleg. The Figure: Front: Bootleg 6 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr Breez from the front. Yes, she has blue spikes instead of red ones. I dont know how you can mess this up but they did. Edit: Thanks to Kalhiki I just saw that she also has the 1.0 Core instead of the 2.0 one! Back: Bootleg 7 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr The Back. Nothing special to see here. Posing: Pose 1: Bootleg 8 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr While it has a more cheaper plastic than the official LEGO, it kinda has a good quality. Bricks have enough friction for more comlicated Poses and they dont fell like they will break off that easy. Pose 2: Bootleg 9 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr This also works, thanks to the hand having enough friction to hold the whole figure. Final Verdict: Bootleg 10 by Dosenbrot!, auf Flickr A final picture. Verdict: You know, for a "cheap knock-off" the quality off the bricks is pretty good, especially since you need it for Action Figures so they don't break too fast. It also has some nice Parts, especially the Torso. But would I combine this one with my real LEGO? Probably not. So all in all, a pretty solid set. I hope you enjoyed my Review, leave me a comment down below and thanks for Reading! Cheers!

  13. Well, I've decided to venture outside of my comfort zone in Technicland, and post some of my stuff here. I've got a number of small and medium size Bionicle and Hero Factory creations that I feel do not justify their own threads, so I'll post them all in this thread. My first thing for this thread is a Bionicle update of a Galidor alien called Ooni. I have no idea if that is the name of the species, or the individual, or whatever, but i kind of like the freak. Ooni is also the only Galidor set I own, and I have a number of fond memories of playing with him. My copy is complete, aside from the other head. If I recall, there was no configuration of Ooni that looked good, and used all of his parts, so that was quite annoying. Anyway, I originally created this thing for the Battle For The Golden Mask contest, but as I was ineligible to enter, he was put in storage until I brought him out now. If I were to enter him, I would have given him a backstory involving being a horrible, twisted freak of nature from another dimension, who has a touch that causes everything around him to mutate horribly. Anyway, on to pictures. Bionicle Ooni by Saberwing007, on Flickr I kept all of his major features, including his weird jaws, color scheme, 4 arms, 4 legs, and 4 eyes. Ooni closeup by Saberwing007, on Flickr But, he is far more stable and poseable, and has opening jaws as well as poseable thumbs. Ooni Details by Saberwing007, on Flickr Given that the small arms on the original are more mechanical looking, I did the same on mine, with the Glatorian fists in DSG. Ooni Roar by Saberwing007, on Flickr Apparently, some village was able to snap a blurry photo of the beast roaring at nothing in particular. This is for almost ruining Lego forever! by Saberwing007, on Flickr Ooni attacks Ooni for almost ruining Lego forever. He deserves it. Also, this is literally the most dynamic pose I could get out of the original Ooni, as he is not really good for that, though not for the ratchet joints so much as weird proportions. There is probably going to be more creations to come, and if anybody wants instructions or more pictures, just let me know.
  14. Hi everyone! Some days ago I found Meltdown's head and tried to make revamp of my favourite Hero Factory Character) Let's start! "What to do, what to do...." Running Meltdown. You can take off his tentacle. And some more poses)
  15. http://brickpal.tumblr.com/post/121047045975/loganmcowen-ninjainspektor-what-would-make I'll leave you all this Tumblr post to dwell on. Feel free to come up with any crazy connections you can find.
  16. Hi everyone. For those of you interested, here's the first MOC I've completed since joining Eurobricks and marks the beginning of posting my MOCs on Eurobricks as well as Deviantart, Flickr, and MOCpages(when I remember to ^^;). About the MOC: This is a MOC that happened kind of by accident or on a whim. After seeing Alex-Darkrai:'s Grind Star I was inspired to use my Dark red and black Marbled/gradient parts to make something. The end result became a chopper style motorcycle. I suppose thinking about how the wheels come from the Furno Bike or Speeda Demon's motorcycle is what led me to go the direction of a chopper. I started with an initial idea for the front forks which turned out very well. Then I spent three days on the rear wheel. I didn't illustrate it here in the photos but when you turn the rear wheel, a series of gears connected to the turntable part on the other side make the hub/rim counter rotate. So if this chopper was roaring down the street the back rim would be spinning the opposite direction. This is probably one of the most complicated pieces of functional design I've ever created. I spent three days just working on this section alone. I first got it, then I spent two days refining it so that the turn table and rim were closer to the wheel. Now I had sort of a back and a front and had to bridge the two. I struggled with this until I finally scrapped the front fork design keeping the ideas I liked(like the Pyrox mask and the Piraka feet), doing a lot of research by looking up many photos of the key areas of a chopper to really understand how they work and build the MOC like an actual chopper(i.e making the frame, then connecting the forks, building the engine, transmission, gas tank, etc). This was quite an interesting build in the sense that it's both symmetrical and asymmetrical at the same time. It was a lot of fun chunking through this build one actual part of a motorcycle at a time. I felt like one of the guys on those chopper shows like Orange County Choppers or Biker Buildoff that used to be popular on The Discovery channel. This is the first MOC of mine to really benefit from me moving my laptop into my MOC room. I relied heavily on photo searching Google to look at the different aspects of choppers. Looking back on it I realize I went for a "simplified realism" approach. The chopper features things like head and tail lights, license plate, gas tank with spout, brake controls and brake lines on the handle bars, functional drive line(wheel connected by Technic chain to "transmission" which is connected via belt drive to motor), engine with fuel line and semi-realistic foot controls(clutch). Though I didn't get too obsessed with the details. I thought about adding things like gauges and other technical bits, but felt they would have distracted from the simpler edgier look of the bike. Thinking back on it, the license plate is probably a bit much as well. =P The nice thing about Choppers is there's a great many kind, from very commercial to customization to the extreme of impracticality and everything in between. This in a way was freeing because I could make it as long or as short as I wanted, make the gas tank or seat however I wanted and I even came across some that had an open sided wheel like this one has. This also presented a bit of a challenge as I had to look at many different kinds of cycles to see what the "common denominators' where. At the end of the day. I think I did a good job recreating a chopper fairly accurately thanks to having a laptop handy to reference photos. Man I shoulda gotten into the habit of taking my laptop in with me ages ago. Now it'll be a permanent fixture in my MOC room. I got the idea to call it Cerberus fairly early on, but the reason for it changed about midway through. Initially I was going to call it Cerberus thinking that it would figuratively have three heads, the Pyrox mask on the front wheel, the Kalmah head as the gas tank, and the rider's actual head. However several other head pieces were added as I finished out the build. So now I count the pyrox head and the two wolf heads on the handle bars as its "three heads." For those of you who might not know, Cerberus is a rather famous figure in ancient Greek Mythology. He is typically depicted as a three headed dog with serpents all over his body, though modern depictions show him mostly as three headed dog of some sort. The serpents don't tend to stay. Cerberus guarded the gates of Hades to keep anyone from escaping. The Twelfth trial of Hercules was to subdue Cerberus without the use of any weapons. Thank you for reading, viewing and commenting. :D I hope you enjoyed my first official MOC posting on Eurobricks.
  17. Can't believe that this hasn't been a major topic before. Heck, it might've been, it's just been buried under other things since then. Nevertheless, what is your favourite combiner? I'm not asking for the best one, because clearly, that is Gaardus! Don't deny it, he is a work of art. As for my favourite... Well, I rarely got enough sets from a wave to build a complete combiner. I certainly never acquired enough titans to do so (And if I did, I wouldn't have dismanted them to build it anyway. My titans only get dismanted when I cannibalize too many parts to repair them) So my favourite is actually Bohrok Kal Kaita Za. He was the first one I had all the components for, but even then, I could work out what went into him just from the picture of the completed model in the back of Tahnok Kal's instructions, so I built him before I even got the arms, with Gahlok and Lehvak replacing them. Once I did have him complete, he was just fun to play around with, and easy to return to his unmerged form. However... Lava Hawk is adorable. So, what's your favourite?
  18. So I've been using Bricklink quite often since I got my debit card a couple of months ago. I love it, it's a fantastic service! But I've noticed something about how they list parts in the CCBS. They title the parts' entries as "Hero Factory XYZ", much like Technic parts are titled as "Technic XYZ". Now while it makes sense that this is the case (Hero Factory was the first CCBS line), I feel that now, the CCBS is much more universal than just being "the Hero Factory system" - especially now Hero Factory is (as far as can be foreseen) dead and gone. So in that case... Shouldn't CCBS parts be listed as "CCBS XYZ" now? Well, I've contacted Bricklink through their helpdesk on this subject. Here's what I wrote: Do you guys agree with my sentiments? Or do you think I've gone overboard with my nerdiness?
  19. HI everyone I just wanted to post a thread linking to my Deviantart Gallery and Flickr Photostream Just to give a general access to my MOCs. If you'd like to discuss any specific MOC here in this thread though I think that's okay(its okay with me if its okay with the moderators). I didn't want to just start throwing up random MOCs all of a sudden since I'm new here and I've got so many already. If you've got a flickr or DA account I certainly don't mind comments there, but a thread with some discussion here would be nice to. Still trying to get the hang of posting here. I guess a question might be helpful to get a discussion going huh? (hey what do you know a question ) My question is, if you know of me already what's your favorite MOC of mine, if you've never seen any MOCs from me, does any particular one stand out to you the most? Thanks for any faves, watches, and comments in advance.
  20. Hi all reading. I'm gonna try something a little different today. Here's my latest revamp of a MOC I've had for a while, Wretched-Stare. Instead of of linking to the many photos I have posted on Flickr, I grabbed the photo collage I posted on Deviantart and will be posting that. The clickthrough link on the photo will also take you to Deviantart. This is an update for both Wretched himself, the computers, desk. and all the other accessories he previously had. The only things to remain the same are his little desk fan, and the action figure collection(not much I could do about those really) There are also a few notable additions to Wretched's Arsenal of PC Gaming and Hacking nirvana. Added features: Head set. Wretched-Bones(AKA Greg) once told me that he practically lives in his headphones, so comfortable ones are needed for him. This inspired me to include a head set for Wretched. Coffee Mug(more like oil drum ) Complete with coffee in it. It spilled when he freaked out about his desk top crashing. Dual Mini-Fridges. This was a feature I wanted to add to the first iteration of Wretched's actual desk (not counting that puny thing I made for him at first). Inside the top fridge are some energy drinks. These are the canisters that used to be on Wretched's belt, which I did away with because it felt more in the way than useful now that he's got a Mini Fridge and new weapons. The bottom fridge has some kind of "Xtreme" snacks. Yay using printed tiles. Printer. Pretty much any PC user needs a printer at some point for something. So I felt his desk wouldn't be complete without one. I wasn't just content with a printer, that would have been to simple for Wretched. Everything he owns is upper class high tech. So he needed at least a <i>printer/scanner</i>. Considering how big this desk is, I'm surprised at the fact this is the most SNOTy part of the build. It was a bit of a technical challenge getting something that looked right, didn't look too blocky or bulky, but also worked. Sadly, paper could go through it but only if its 2 studs wide, though it looks as though it should handle 4 studs wide. Oh well still looks awesome in my opinion. Desk Drawer. Something I first did on Matteo's Desk, but expanded upon with Wretched.'s. Now he has a place to keep his rocket Launcher. Dual Wielded "Data Blades." I decided that butter knife I gave Wretched before wasn't acceptable now that he's getting all these badass upgrades. So I sought out to find him a new weapon. I was initially going to go with a Hack Hammer, but this just kinda worked out for the better. Greg while a really great tech dude who knows his stuff about computers, also studied martial arts when he was younger, so he's told me his preferences for weapons are axes, hammers and daggers. Well these are too big to be daggers so they're data blades. It was daggers that inspired me to try something and the skrall blades just happened to really fit his look I think. Plus getting the color scheme in the weapons was pretty cool toMore on these in his Bio Upgrades. Desk. Its kinda obvious that the desk itself is actually different. The middle section with the grated plates are from the original desk though. I thought those looked cool so I kept them. Chair. The chair is somewhat the same as before. It was always a bit too tall for wretched so I shortened it by one round 2x2 Trans-neon-Green brick. I added some 1X2 tiles to give it some color. Then I redid the bottom rollers to be actual wheels that spin, not just black Beveled gears. It rolls a lot smoother now. You should see Wretched going WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE around my kitchen table, its quite funny. PC tower. With the new desk being bigger and taller that allowed for more room to have a bigger PC tower, so now its bigger and has two Disc Drives in it, how fancy. :D:D:D Monitors. Its pretty much the same exact design as before just tripled. What serious gamer doesn't have at least a gagillion monitors? Greg does. Keyboard. Moved some things around to try and make it look like it'd be back lit. Mouse. It has a mouse pad now, nothing special, just something to add a little more color to the desk. Speakers Mostly the same but now they're mounted on the shelf Laptop. I reworked the Laptop on both sides. Its now running Windows8, and like any sane being with half a brain...Wretched hates it. This was actually Greg's idea. When I told him I didn't like the way I did the computer screen using printed tiles, he suggested the basic colored square thing. Which was genius(Go Greg) Bio Wretched Stare is a member of the Skakdi race. Wretched is perhaps one of the tamer of the Skakdi, but that's not saying much. He can still be characterized as "quite prickly." Wretched spends 90% of his time in doors at his computers and other technological devices. Even amongst the Skakdi he's a bit of an oddball. He plays games and sits in a dark room in front of screens instead of fighting and doing the many various malicious things Skakdi are know to do. Because of this his fellow skakdi think him odd. Once Wretched is in "manual butt kick mode" as he calls it he can be competent fighter, though he's not the most strong or fastest. Outside of battle he can be a bit of a bumbling goof.Wretched-Stare utilizes his vast knowledge of technology to aid him in fighting. This can be seen mostly through his use of hi "Data Blades." These unique weapons have an energized core that can transmit bits of code into a being to disrupt it mentally and physically. The code can overload and kill weaker beings or simply paralyze stronger beings. Zakaz, the island the Skakdi live on is pretty barren with many fortresses dotting the landscape. Wretched holds up in a smaller fortress of his own employing small drones to keep a look out and fend off any intruders. When those don't work, he'll refer to his "manual butt kick mode," meaning he has to get off his butt and go take care of the problem himself. Being a Skakdi, Wretched has worked for the Dark Hunters. He joined the Dark Hunters to gain access to high grade equipment and technology since Zakaz had little to nothing to offer him. Being skilled at identifying talent and potential, the dark hunters didn't really utilize his ability as a fighter, but exploited his wealth of knowledge with computers to help many of the other mechanically or technological savvy members develop new weapons for the Dark Hunters. Though he would never hand over the schematics for his Data Blades. This lead to some growing tension between him and some of the other Dark Hunters and a fight broke out amongst them. Many of the experiments they were working on were destroyed and Wretched ended up killing several of the participants. None of the other developers questioned his authority after that and he became the leader of the R&D department within the Dark Hunter's Guild.
  21. These are my revamp/modifications to all 7 of the Brain Attack Villains. Gallery When Public http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=541230 LXF file of all of them http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/hf_brain_attack_villian_revamps.lxf Starting with Pyrox Not much is changed with him. More dark red was added along with using A Drilldozer torso piece to add bulk. The thing unique with him is I've changed the swinging arms gimmick to use one of the spring piece from the hockey player sets. I've also added more gold. Front http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/006.jpg Right Side http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/007.jpg Back http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/008.jpg Left Side http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/009.jpg Closeup of back showing the piece I used http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/010.jpg Pose http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/011.jpg Next is Bruizer. His main change is his bashing arm is now poseable while still retaining the bashing gimmick. I used friction adders on his right arm so the arm can stay in place when using the gimmick. I've also removed all gunmetal grey and made his right leg bulky as well along with giving him more beast like feet. Front http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/012.jpg Right Side http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/013.jpg Back http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/014.jpg Left Side http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/015.jpg Closeup of back showing a locking feature that prevents the gimmick from working when you want to pose the arm http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/016.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/017.jpg Pose http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/018.jpg Next is Ogrum. The main change with him is how his mace is constructed and attached. I used a flick missile to connect his mace to his hand leaving the ball joint free. The way the mace part is attached to the chain isn't purist but I think it looks better this way. Front http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/019.jpg Right Side http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/020.jpg Back http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/021.jpg Left Side http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/022.jpg Pose http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/023.jpg Next is Frost Beast (Or as I like to call him. Chillax) Not many changes here. Just a change to the back construction to allow back armor and new feet since the hero feet did not suit his beast design. Front http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/024.jpg Right Side http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/025.jpg Back http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/026.jpg Left Side http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/027.jpg Pose http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/028.jpg Next is Aquagon. Small changes here as well. All parts used exist in real life) The changes with him are bigger wings and a longer tail. Changed build to lower jaw and added in a tongue. Replaced the red button with a yellow one. And the back legs are more dragon like. The most unique thing about this modification/revamp is that it uses exactly 222 pieces (Counting the rubber band which doesn't attach in LDD Front View http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/034.png Side View http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/035.png Back View http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/036.png Top View http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/037.png Bottom View http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/038.png Pic showing how tongue is attached http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/herofactory/BrainAttack/Villians/039.png Comments and Criticism appreciated. I will be doing revamp/modifications to all the Brain Attack Heroes
