MINI BUILD I promised we would do more contests this year, so I'm sorry for the delay, but here it is.....a new contest. DESCRIPTION Build a LEGO Technic model with a maximum of 200 LEGO parts! Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set. DEADLINE Contest closes on August 1st, 2014. CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Maximum of 200 parts. 199 or less is okay, 200 is okay, 201 is NOT okay. Chain links and tracks DO count toward the part limit. Every part counts (mini turntable is two parts, just like in a real set) NO Electronics (PF, Mindstorms, etc) are allowed. Only official LEGO parts. No chrome unless it's official LEGO (see previous rule) Ropes/Strings, rubber bands and pneumatic tubing need to be official LEGO parts. Set must have at least one, preferably more, functions. Aesthetics do count. NO Model Team. Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set (also see previous two rules). GENERAL RULES AND RESTRICTIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Voting is only allowed for existing members (which means member date before start date of contest) If there's a tie my vote and Blakbird's will count twice. If there's still a tie, Staff members will decide who wins. One entry per member. Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously). Only physical builds, so no LDD or other virtual entry. If you have any doubts about the suitability of your entry contact me. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals (stickers) will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in the entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the entry topic are not eligible for voting. The entry post may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. These rules can be changed whenever we see fit to ensure that people follow the intent of the contest. Staff members are not eligible for winning prizes. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? All participant need to create a WIP topic for discussion purposes and create a post in the entry topic. WIP TOPIC A WIP topic beginning with [MINI]. ENTRY POST The entry post (in the soon to be created entry topic) should contain: Entry name Part count Short summary of the functions. Promotional image (this one should kick megablocks!) Parts image (a picture of all the parts used, spread out on a surface) The part image needs to show all the parts used in the model. I need a picture showing all the separate parts! That way we can clearly see which, and how many, parts have been used. The promotional image needs to be clear and crisp image, which really shows the model in it's best way. Think of it as the image on the box. Building a great MOC is one thing, but a decent presentation really helps you to get more votes. PRIZES The prize winners may choose between selected prizes. 1st PRIZE The winner can choose between 42006, 42023, 42024 and 42028 (if available). (or choose a smaller set of choice) 2nd PRIZE The runner-up can choose between 42007 and 42022. (or choose a smaller set of choice) 3rd PRIZE The bronze medalist can choose between 42026, 42027 and 42012. (or choose another set with a maximum of 25 euro) Special thanks to TLG's Community Support Team for providing these awesome prizes!

Spear Fishing in the Mitgardian Clan Lands (MCB II)
soccerkid6 posted a topic in Guilds of Historica
I experimented with some new techniques in this build: the water, the snow, and the trees. The water and trees original designs are by Buurli_Burri and Brother Steven. The snow design is new as far as I know, basically you use white tiles set on top of dark bley slopes. To keep the tiles from falling off you build around them a bit with other slopes/bricks etc. The pictures should show what I mean. A Mitgardian Clansmen goes spear fishing in the snowy Clanlands. Any C&C appreciated- 38 replies

My last free build for chapter 1 of Historica. My little brother helped me a bit with this, and it is our largest build (footprint wise anyway ) yet. There is a full interior to the castle, and quite a few of the doors/trapdoors work. Joktan, Jayan, Erastus, Dedan, and Kenan, along with the Hradcanny dwarves are attacking Forngord Castle. The castle, located in southern Mitgardia, has been long abandoned, but recently the Hand of Corruption has taken residence there: Quite a few more pics here: link I think this is either my favorite or second favorite build, tied with my Fortress of Cameria build. Any C&C appreciated, the first chapter of GoH has been awesome and here's to an even better second chapter!

Built for the Heroes Guild level Master 1 "Your hero presenting the treasure and slain beast to the king" Mark of Falworth was finally able to complete his journey across the vast expanse of the Galaphona desert. He arrived at the capital city and proceeded to the palace of Lorean to see the Prince Jarius, who he had not seen since his return to Loreos from the magic isles. "Greetings, noble prince! I have brought you a small keepsake from the island of lost souls!" "Greetings, Lord Falworth! The prince said warmly as he stepped from his throne. "Why, is that the head of the mighty dragon Mindarus the cunning!?" "Indeed it is, sire, but he was not so cunning as you would have thought... for I killed him with a trick of my sword." "My goodness Mark, you must have a grand time as you go gallivanting across the world as a knight errant. Slaying mighty dragons, and defeating your adversaries." The prince said with a smile. "Yes, 'tis a noble calling. But right at present I have no errant, and there is nothing I hate worse than inactivity..." "..And that is why I have come to you. There must be something I can do for the Glory of Loreos! Especially with war recently broken out. Perhaps I can assemble a fleet, and raid the coasts of Garheim? Or maybe lead a surprise expedition south to the swamps, and crush the outlaws while they are least suspecting it...?" "Hahaha! If every knight in Loreos was as keen for action as you, nephew, I should be king of Roawia in a fortnight." The prince thought for a moment. "...but I do have a very important mission I would like to set you on. Do you remember when I contracted an alliance with the house of Wenseclaus to secure peace between Loreos and Lenfald?" "Yes, I remember, But the High Lord Godfrey Wenseclaus II died not to long afterwards without an heir, there was much civil disorder as the nobles of Lenfald fought to straighten things out." "Your statement is true, except for one facet. Godfrey Wenseclaus II did, and still does, have a legitimate heir!" Mark took a step backwards in shock. "What!? That is impossible! The reports from Lenfald..." "...Are not always as truthful as they should be, Mark. This scandalous treachery is, no doubt, the work of the evil baron who tried to seize the province after the High Lord died. The true heir was being held prisoner in a small castle to the south of Isil Oro and he just barely managed to escape some weeks ago." "I can still hardly believe it!" Mark shook his head. "Where is the heir now?" The prince smiled. "In the hallway waiting for me to call him in." The prince rang a bell and the door at the end of the hall opened, and a tiny lad of about eleven-years-old skipped towards them. "Mark, allow me to present Lord Chartres Wenseclaus, the true heir to the province of Lenfald." 'Well, welcome to Loreos, Chartres. I hope you have found it pleasant so far?" "Indeed I have Lord Falworth, It is good to be among friends at last!" The prince continued. "I intend to reestablish young Chartres to his rightful place on the throne of Lenfald." "A wise move, Uncle. Such a step would greatly damage the reputation and the cause of the ridiculous imp Triphian." "Indeed, but I am certain that Triphian, having ruled Lenfald for some time, will not give up his title and position to one younger then himself. So we Loreesi must be the force of justice. And I intend to put my best man at the front of this planned restoration." Mark's puzzled expression allowed the prince to continue. "Yes, Mark. As one of my most warlike and powerful vassals you are a perfect choice for the job." "I will gladly serve in any way you need me to, Uncle. But could you be more specific? " "You will take charge of young Chartres, train him in warlike exercises, and lead a substantial force into Lenfald in an attempt to restore him, the true ruler, to the people of that province. A third of the army of Loreos will be at your disposal, that combined with your own extensive forces should be ample for anything you might choose to accomplish." "I could not refuse such a glorious mission! Thank you, Jarius!" "You are entirely welcome, Mark! I am glad to have such a weighty matter off my mind, now that I know everything humanly possible will be done. Godspeed." And with that the prince returned to his throne. Mark of Falworth turned to little Chartres. "Well, lad, it seems we have much work to do." "Indeed, Lord Falworth! I hope we shall be successful!" Chartres smiled beneath his freckles. "I believe we shall. But first... we must find you a good suit of armor." Mark winked. You can also see the pictures and read the story on Flickr! :) Thanks for viewing and have a great day!
