  1. Great set, and no doubt the Quinjet Iron Man is superior to the Cosmic Cube Iron Man in every way. There's no feasible way to police/award it, but I'd love to see an EB patch created just for everyone who bought the Quinjet in the past week to get the Hulk fig!!
  2. I was thinking about it while looking over my Series 7 the other day, and of how much LTG likes to re-use parts from previous CMFs... So with that said, how about a GOLFER? The bagpiper's hat would be perfect, and all he'd need in terms of a new mold would be a club or two. And heck, even they could be brick-built if need be. Besides, we've all seen how much the CMF team loves sports figs. Thoughts?
  3. That's an awesome Yamato. But where's Wildstar and the Black Tiger squadrons, ahahaha
  4. Thanks as always Grogall... I'm wondering how many better Hospital designs were submitted by the designers, only to be cut down for this smaller set count?? Can't remember a set that so many of us were disappointed in, and yet we'll still buy just because of how bad we all need it for our layouts! Crazy...
  5. Agreed... you take that copter out of the set you have more than enough pieces for an additional floor or two and whatever it would take to furnish them more appropriately. I kinda like how things were handled with the Batman line-- yes, of course there's a perfect spot to 'park' the Batmobile, but TLG sold them separately. There's already an ambulance on the shelves-- why not just make the parking bay large enough to fit that one rather than give us a pale alternative. And a separate release for the copter would've freed up the designers quite a bit as well. I'll still get it-- wanted something, anything for a hospital for years-- but it's definitely underwhelming.
  6. I must say, I'm a bit underwhelmed with the Aztec now that I can hold it in my hands and look him over. I was contemplating a small tribe of these guys but I think I'd rather just get more evil knights, valkryies, or Galactic Patrol! The Daredevil is a nice surprise, if I do say so myself!!!
  7. It's strange... we've gotten spoiled with having advance glimpses of the upcoming series. It almost feels strange to have 7 out and not have seen 8 yet. I know we had no clue of the 'next series' when Series 1 and 2 were released. At what point did the leaked images overtake the release of its predecessor?
  8. Thanks Grogall! Any word on the set count for the Hospital?? Looks like it's gonna set us back $60 or $70 USD...
  9. Has the Lego LOTR video game been confirmed???
  10. TRU Manager informed me tonight that "they don't have any of the red or YELLOW series" in stock yet. Possible confirmation that Series 8 is Yellow again?????????
  11. Call me crazy, but I could see Lego just totally exploding through the X-men side of the Marvel deal. Cerebro: A smaller $15-20 USD set featuring the Cerebro unit and chair, with Professor X, Emma Frost, and maybe a Brotherhood Mutant such as Mystique. Sentinel Attack: $40-50 set with a brick-built Sentinel. Let's go Wolverine w/mask, Kitty Pryde & Lockheed, Nightcrawler and Rogue. The Danger Room: $60-70 playset model featuring the X-men's training facility. I'd like to see them do an old-school team here, with the original Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast and Angel. The Blackbird: The X-men's hypersonic jet, with Storm, Colossus, a modern Cyclops, Rogue, Gambit, and a smaller vehicle featuring Brotherhood members Toad, Avalanche, and Sabretooth. $100 USD range. Obviously we haven't even breached the mansion itself... but there's SO much potential for amazing X-sets. So exciting!!
  12. Having both, I'd recommend the Lighthouse. It's just so quaint and picturesque, and a pretty interesting build. You'll certainly enjoy it!
  13. Awesome... Literally torn between which of the two Hulks I prefer more. Looks like Harry Potter hair, right?
  14. I'll tell you another thing... the more I look at that comparison between the live action Avengers and their Lego counterparts, I wish TLG had used GOLD ARMS FOR IRON MAN, with Red Hands. The arms just look so underwhelming for an otherwise impressive figure.
  15. Alright then, I'll be the first to ask... "WHY IRON FIST??" Sure, the figure looks interesting enough, and the fact that we're already getting B to C-list heroes gives optimism that we're in for a long and bountiful line of Marvel and DC characters, not just the icons of each brand. But dude... think of all of the Marvel heroes that will have come second to... Iron Fist??? Daredevil, the Punisher, the X-men, etc etc etc. Kinda mind-boggling. I haven't read comics in years, mind you, and I've never read "Ultimate Spider-Man." Does Iron Fist play a larger part in that version of the story?
  16. Nice catch-- I'm looking to load up on these guys in a big way.
  17. Congrats and best wishes to you, Kim. AND congrats to all of us, who can now rest easily knowing that TLG just got one employee better!
  18. UPDATE: I'm not a Reviewer and lack the camera to do it right anyway... but I picked up the 30018 Police Microlight this morning and thought I could at least share a picture or two. The quality of the bagged set image bothered me as the news broke earlier this week, and maybe this will help someone else out if they're on the bubble on this one. Obviously, it's not much of a set, nor is it a very impressive model. BUT it's a very cheap way to pick up a Police pilot minifig. I've even considered grabbing four or five more and using the blue torso with black legs for a unique take on the Police Boat crew. At any rate, hope this helps someone!
  19. Cool... I'm thinking about replacing all of my Police heli pilots with the guy from the Microlight. Because what any Lego police force needs is more cops, right??
  20. Everyone's calling for the Zoo line, and yes, it would be astounding, but ask yourself this... if TLG wouldn't even spring for some new molds in the PET SHOP modular set, then what makes us think they'll launch an entire subtheme based on new animal molds?
  21. Outstanding... Truly Lego being used as an art form. Bravo!
  22. I think I really AM the only one who likes the oversized Batcycle/Pod... What I did was turn down the Technic joints even closer to the back wheel, but then turn the gray 'sharkfin' pieces further out to the outside, creating this beautiful little line that just cradles above the tire without hitting it. I also turned the rounded joint pieces used for the axles inside out, giving the outside of the wheels a straight up flat black surface. I think it looks pretty great, to be honest. Either way, excellent review for an excellent set. SO MUCH FUN to build!
  23. Valkyrie, easily. I'd vote that number one just on account of that headpiece. And yes, I will buy multiples just to throw that on the heads of my existing vikings. A close runner-up is the Evil Knight-- I know this is my army builder for the series, no doubt. Also lovin' the bagpiper, the aztec, and, sure, I'd be lying if I said the space marine isn't special. As for the Series poll... Series 4 remains the benchmark for me. The hockey player, the viking, the musketeer, the hazmat guy, the monsters, the sailor, the artist, the rocker-- if this series was still in circulation I'd probably STILL be picking them up! I'm sure I spent more money on that series than any other.
  24. Earth Defence HQ was my winner for SET OF 2011, and I'm not even much of a space guy. Awesome build, awesome vehicles, and incredible figures. If you plan on reselling, you may not want to open it up and build it, because you might just fall for this set hard. No brainer, as far as I'm concerned.
  25. Okay, straight up-- the 4205 Forest Police Off-Road Command Center or 6864 The Batmobile and Two-Face Chase?? Truly torn between both of them... 4205 is a bit pricey for the set but I've fallen hard for it, while I can get 6864 for only $45 thanks to TRU's $10 Off promo.
