Alright everyone, I've taken a look and there's a window in the Lego budget... so I'm trying to decide: Is the 7327 Scorpion Pyramid REALLY WORTH $65usd at Target? I haven't collected much of the line other than the 7307 Flying Mummy Attack, but I do love the figs in this set... Should I take the deal or hold out the money for Series 6 and the City sets?

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion

Personally, I'd love to see TLG do a retro Batmobile based on the modified Lincoln Futura from the cheesy TV show. That, and a new Tumbler. -

Always exciting to see Grogall's name pop up in a rumor thread. Thanks as always, my friend! -
Black Friday deals are kinda weak this year, actually... Target's offering the Pharaoh's Quest Pyramid and the Portal of Atlantis for $65USD. TRU's offering 40% off Lego Games, 35% off PQ Flying Mummies, PQ Sphinx, and City Airport & City Corner. Amazon's deals have been pretty great, obviously. Otherwise pretty slim pickin's... we'll have to see if 'Cyber Monday' offers anything special.

Greece! Zeus willing, let me be right. -
Hey, I have a question... There's a Lego movie in production as we speak. If Lego makes sets to tie in with the movie release, does this constitute a licensed theme????

They better make good on that T-Rex body for you! That's just not right, especially at that price point! -
Got the 7946 King's Castle for $60 USD at Barnes & Noble!! After seeing it the set for sale this week at Target USA for $79.99 USD, I was disappointed to learn that all of the Targets in my area were quickly sold out. This misfortune was actually a blessing in disguise, and with a little homework I was able to find a 40% Off Single Item coupon for B&N. Great deal, great castle! Can't wait to give it a build!

We're onto you-- you went into the future with your time machine and picked up the Winter Candy Shop, only to bring it back to 2011 and claim it as your own-- DIDN'T YOU???!!!! Or, maybe not. Nice work!

REVIEW: 7327 Scorpion Pyramid
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Received word yesterday that THIS SET will be a Black Friday 2011 Target USA Doorbuster... for $64.99! (Same price also for the Portal of Atlantis set, btw) I passed on this set originally, but that's not a bad price, esp. when you factor in all those beautiful figs!!! -
So... the good news is I got the ambulance. The bad news is I agreed with my wife that it stays in the box until Christmas. Also saw several of the Dino sets today at TRU... Pterodactyls look GREAT!

I notice that they fixed Batman's pants in the Catwoman set... he was wearing all blue, but now in the updated box art he clearly is sporting gray legs with a blue assembly. Much better. -

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've read a lot of people talking about wanting a Tumbler in the coming TDKR license. And yes, count me in-- That would be FANTAAAAAAAAAAAAASTIC! But, with regards to the movie, there is this information to consider: ==SPOILERS BELOW-- HIGHLIGHT COLORED TEXT TO READ== From all accounts of leaked production videos and still images, there will be multiple Tumblers in the movie. I've read some speculation that some of the plot involves Bane 'stealing' some of Batman's technology from Lucius Fox, and some of the videos seem to suggest that the Tumblers and the Gotham City police force are fighting against each other. What is most concerning to Lego fans and this thread in particular is that they are indeed painted in a desert camo color scheme, and not the sleek matte black that Batman himself made popular in the first two movies. We know he'll be flying a Batwing in the movie, but I'm not sure I've actually seen any shots of Batman himself in his signature ground vehicle. So if we do get a Tumbler set, I'd have to believe it won't actually be Nolan's interpretation of the 'Batmobile,' but rather a vehicle used against the Caped Crusader. Again, read at your own risk... but this might affect things. -
Ahhh yes, what a great topic. Walking through a drugstore one day, I saw this: I was deep in the Dark Ages-- I didn't even know there was a Lego SW license. But for whatever reason, I had to buy that set and throw it in my car until after work. Now, twelve years and a near-complete run of OT sets later, I never really imagined what I was getting myself into...

2011 Xmas target giftcard Legoset
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Solscud007's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Checked today, nothing in my local Target. Also read a story on ToysnBricks about Halloween polybags discounted to $.39... and they all were still ringing up as $3.99 in my store. -

Believe it. We find everything from Lego high in price. And then we buy it anyway. -
Wow-- didn't expect to see that so soon. I'm very tempted to leave my desk and drive over to the TRU down the street from here and see if they actually got them in this early. But, to be honest, the Lego Budget isn't quite prepared for this yet. I DO take this as a sign that Batman sets will be under our trees Christmas morning...

Lego will always be Lego-- the day it needs licensed characters to survive will be the day they jump the shark. I'm sure the money's substantial, and I'm as amped about the SuperHeroes line as anyone else, but with all these movie character figs flying around, the non-licensed themes become more important than ever to keep the entire thing grounded and stable. I'll miss Kingdoms more than I'll welcome LOTR, and I don't think I'm the only one.

Would be pretty strange to do a Lego video game for a license that doesn't have its own Lego toy line. This is pretty convincing.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Candy shop sounds great... I'd go for that. There'll never be a loss of possibilities for this line. I think sooner or later we're bound to get another HOLIDAY TRAIN, and I'd be all for that. Hopefully something that fits the theme's retro yet timeless feel and design aesthetic. But I suppose it'd be much smarter to give us a few more houses before hitting us with a large train set. If I were involved with the marketing of the holiday theme, I'd release a few more of the smaller house sets to ensure that collectors were dedicated to buying these on an annual basis, and then drop the big ticket train piece. And we'd all buy it... because it'd tie all of these into one great display. -

A LONG LONG time ago I worked up several ideas for this theme in the "Ideas for New City Sets" thread:
