REVIEW: Stephanie or Emma? Help Kiel Choose!
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Town
I was waiting for the obligatory 80's sitcom moment where the philandering protagonist (what we would now call a playa) gets caught by both girls at the same time and has to try to explain himself. Just google "Three's Company" and I'm sure you'll figure it out, haha Well done-- I've seen the 'Emma' set out in the wild and must admit, that black hair with the ponytail would make for a really good Celtic warrior leader... -
Awesome review, Redhead-- thanks for the effort! This set was on my 'maybe' list, but after this thread I'm already wondering where the recycle station is going to go in my City. Also kudos to TLG for putting out something new and fresh and interesting!

Wow... imagine the possibilities of a GOTHAM CITY ROGUES Football Team set!!!! Hmmmmmm.... (raises eyebrow) -
Sign me up for the hospital... and throw in the miner's pickup truck as well. Not as epic as other waves, but I'm very pleased with the effort and the attempt at variety.

All in all, I must say, I'm pretty impressed. For whatever reason, I had it in my head that these would look absolutely nothing like traditional castle, and that's not necessarily true. Helm's Deep could still co-exist in a layout with, say, a lion's castle if it had to. New horses are kinda weird-- they look like plastic screenshots from a Lego game, haha. (suddenly imagining a LOTR Lego game, WOW) I guess what surprises me the most is that these pics feature very few new parts-- I imagined TONS of new weapons, specifically, but the hobbits are using traditional Castle swords, the Nazgul both have the Highlander's sword, the orcs are all using existing halberds, etc. Now, if you ask me, these are all placeholder weapons-- seems inconceivable that TLG won't make a square Uruk-hai sword, or even a new hat for Gandalf... But at first glance, I'm pretty impressed-- I was debating skipping this line but will probably jump at a few, especially for a few Nazgul...

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, pics! What a nice holiday surprise!! --JABBA's PALACE: I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with the overall size and piece count of this thing. I was worried it was going to be some huge monstrous $150USD set that would cater only to the most dedicated SW AFOLs... Oola looks great, interesting to see what they'll do with the Salacious Crumb, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the paint job for Jabba-- the other two monochrome Jabba's in my collection look so unfinished. Obviously, though, the crown jewel of this set, at least for me, is BOUSSH!!!! Thank you so much Lego!! --As for the remaining fig, it's a great mystery to keep us hanging on. If you look at the silhouette of the fig, its head almost seems to be oblong, and sticking out on either side with rounded edges. If I had to guess from that clue alone, I'd suggest REE YEES. --SKIFF: Wow, what a cheap way to get a new Boba Fett! I've already got the Lando, so I suppose this double could swap out a POTC head to become a new guard or something. I was pretty pleased with the Sarlacc from the Sail Barge set, and that trans-blue mouth seems a bit strange, but we'll wait for better pics to pass judgement. The real concern here is WEEQUAY-- it's really hard to make him out, but it appears that they're using a "Shahan Alama" fig from the 8128 set as a placeholder. I'm not much of an PT or CW guy, but from what I understand from some casual research, Alama is a Weequay as well-- but I hope the skiff guard has the traditional garb from ROTJ, and not a red pirate's hat. Nice, reasonably sized sets here that should satisfy any OT collector-- nice job TLG! -
Thanks Cwetqo... of them all, the Gandalf set sounds really pleasant, and the Mines of Moria could be epic... Balrog, anyone???

FIVE HIGHLANDERS PER BOX????????????????? This is good news, thank you sir! -
I just built this monster last night, and let me tell you... it is HUGE, much bigger in my hands than what I thought it was going to be based on online pics alone. Very easy build, very sound structurally, and just a really great set... love the fact that TLG is trying new things this year, and this set is a reward! Very pleased with the purchase!

I guess the most exciting thing for me is... MORE DWARVES!!!!!

Congratulations to all of the devoted fans that have been begging and pleading and contemplating this license for months and months on end. This is your day, and you deserve to bask in it. Personally I'm a fan of the books, and obviously a huge fan of Lego, but for some reason this isn't rattling me to the core as it probably should. Although that'll probably change the first time I see an official Nazgul minifig...

REVIEW: 6862 Superman vs. Power Armor Lex
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
DUDE, just got mine... and I must say, there's something really amazing about seeing those fig parts in your hand for the first time. Thanks, TLG, and congratulations. -
Just built the 4433 DIRT BIKE TRANSPORTER and I must say, I was blown away by how many new pieces are in that set. All kinds of things that I've never really encountered in a City set before... it was like getting a Lego set from the future. Otherwise easy build, a bit lackluster when it's finished, but otherwise solid. It reminds one very much of the 4x4 in the 7635 4WD with Horse Trailer set.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeet! Fun little funhouse right there, and a great selection of figs for a $40 set! -
I REALLLY want this set. I really can't explain why-- it doesn't seem overly functional with regards to the layout, but too cool!

NEWS FLASH!! Amazing news for all you American builders-- Just got the Alien Mothership set at Costco for a now-discounted price of... $19.97!!! SERIOUSLY!! Not sure if this is a local price point but I'm sure it's worth checking out if you have a Costco near you. I've watched the price of this drop from $45 before Halloween to under $20 today, and I JUMPED ON IT! Very proud to say the AC line is now complete! Happy Hunting! EDIT: Yeesh. Sorry about the font thing. Just wanted to be sure people would see it. Sue me.

Chalet or Train. Or Both -
Held the box in my hands today-- I REALLY like this set. the aesthetics, the construction, the pieces. If I had the cash on me today I'd have bought it, certainly...

Picked up some of the smaller sets today (Camper, Police Pursuit), but I got a really close look at the 4439 Heavy Duty Helicopter, and I must say, NO DOUBT I'm getting this thing when the price is right! The 6WD vehicle notwithstanding, just looks like a really well-designed model and adds all sorts of new possibilities to the Police line, forest or otherwise. Sure, it comes with one of the country cops, but the flight crew itself is will blend in well with anyone's existing Police force. All in all I must say, I'm clearly circling this one now that I've seen it up close.

They're supposed to send them back-- I think they get re-processed as later freebies or something-- but you got lucky and found a TRU that doesn't know what it's doing, or at the very least a manager who doesn't communicate with his employees very well. I did the same, luckily-- during week 3 (the Castle figure) I made a purchase that came to $19.96 (Blacksmith Attack and something else, can't remember) so it didn't qualify for the free minifig deal. Well, not only did the sales associate offer to let me buy four of the figs to get the fifth one free... she even let me pick out the forestmen from the previous week! One mug of hot water and a few pairs toy story army men's legs later, I have myself a great little band of merry men!
