  1. Not sure if everyone knows yet, but the Spider-Man set is breaking as we speak in Wal-Marts across the US. I got mine last night and actually was there looking for it just as they were bringing the skids out to put the merchandise on the shelf. I actually looked through the not-yet-unloaded boxes until I found the one with a shipping label identifying the Doc Ock set, and I think there was only one box with three sets in it for the store... But mission accomplished!! How did I do it? WalMart has a 'Find In Store' feature for the specific product, and I just kept checking it periodically until it said my nearest location had "Limited Availability." Here's the link... Happy hunting!!
  2. With the original Lobot in my collection, I'm really frustrated with how much better this fig looks. I had no plans to pick up any of these planet sets, but I am indeed tempted...
  3. I've got one... Money WELL spent, and it was a lot more than $20! He just feels more LEGO-ish than the Avengers version.
  4. Alright, I need some advice. I'm in the fortunate position of having about $250 put aside in the Lego fund, and I need to start making some decisions about what I'm going to do with it. I should probably point out beforehand that I'm primarily a City guy but dabble across all sorts of themes.... and I should definitely say that I typically have a self-enforced policy of staying away from REALLY big (aka $$$) sets. With that being said, I have never purchased a modular set before. I'm torn between some sort of combination of the following sets: 10223 Kingdoms Joust 10193 Medieval Market Village 7398 Passenger Train 4207 City Garage 10224 Town Hall 10211 Grand Emporium(or perhaps even 10197 Fire Brigade) 10228 Haunted House My original plan was the new Garage and some added funds thrown in to get the Haunted House. But then I keep going back to the Joust, which makes me wonder if I should be getting the MMV since it's such an iconic set. But then part of me keeps saying if I'm spending so much money it should probably go into my City layout-- and why should I spend all that money on the Haunted House if it's going to dwarf the rest of my structures, and if I do go modular shouldn't it be for something that can serve as a focal point of sorts, like the Town Hall or the Emporium???? I'd just love a little feedback from some of you that already have some or all of these sets. It really is a great asset to hear what previous customers have to say here at EB. Thank you!
  5. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you're not a parent, are you??!
  6. Just saw this over at Brickset, and to be honest I'm just not that impressed. I'd like it a whole lot more if it confirmed that new SWAT torso. It's just that the police force is becoming a militarized army... I'm up for more civilian sets for '13. Speaking of which, I agree that this is probably a good time to start a 2013 Sets thread...
  7. Sorry. I have a tendency to envision the entire Lego Group as a single living entity, and address it directly here on EB. Call it a bad habit, if you like
  8. Awesome. Overpriced, but awesome. Or should I say awesome, but overpriced. It's amazing how we get all of these Creator and other homes where it's all about the structures themselves, and then they turn up empty. Now here in the Winter theme, which seems to always focus more on being outside in the wintery community and smiling at passersby, etc., we got a fully furnished home. What gives? I'll buy it, TLG, and I'll try to keep the grumbling down... but I'd much rather see the price point drop back to where it was if not lower for the Winter theme. $50-70USD. And yes, the figs are becoming an issue as well.
  9. I took a long hard look at the whole list, and even went so far as to write the whole list out and then re-write it from worst to first. And, when you do it that way, you realize that Series 8 is just as strong as the rest of the theme. I see only arguably 4 weak figs myself. As for the poll-- my top four were conquistador, actor, diver and football player. And of the four, I had to award the number one spot to... The Shakespearean actor. What a great fig!!
  10. Originally came in to question the name... But I see that's been dealt with. Cool design! Very techno-organic.
  11. Dear TLG, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ make the Bantha Riders set already. Pleez. Thank you E. Timms
  12. Dang, that is a really big set! I hope it doesn't 'stand out' too much when displayed with the other Winter sets. I might be willing to pull the trigger on this if it's meant to be a central anchor of the theme, but if they've officially raised the price point of the annual winter set to $100USD, then they'll have lost a loyal customer of the theme. YOU HEAR THAT LOUD N' CLEAR, TLG???!!!
  13. Okay, so the next big question, short of images of course, is what the piece count/price point will be? If it's going to be bigger... JUST HOW MUCH BIGGER are we talking about here? I've really appreciated that TLG has kept these a smaller tag, and would love to see them stay below $75USD here, but it seems like that's definitely not going to be the case here. Curious...
  14. HERE'S A QUESTION: Who did you want most that was NOT a part of the ComicCon reveal?? Like many others, I can easily say I was expecting X-Men and lots of them. And I'm still a bit shocked we didn't get The Flash. He seems to be one of DC's most recognizable heroes after Superman and Batman...
  15. Fairly interesting news coming out of ComicCon '12 was the official announcement that Edgar Wright's ANT MAN will indeed be released. Ant Man's got some serious Avengers connections-- I'd be shocked if he wasn't part of the roster for Avengers 2. I'm certain we'll be seeing Ant Man figs and/or sets within the next two years. Also, if TLG does do licensing tie-ins with Marvel releases, then the essentially confirmed figs for next year include Iron Man in a new silver armor, the Mandarin, and characters from November 13's THOR 2.
  16. Glad to see the pun didn't go unnoticed So, not to sound disrespectful or uninformed... but any official affiliation to back up that guarantee??
  17. I guess the real question now is whether or not we've seen all of the figs from the January wave. I'd love to believe there's a Black Manta to go with that Aquaman... But I certainly know better than to hold my breath waiting for that one!
  18. Love your ideas, but i just can't buy the idea that Arctic Batman doesn't pair up with Mr. Freeze. I'm guessing you swap him & the Penguin, who will be busting the Joker out of AA. It's also worth noting that we need to account for all of the typical price points. Robin might show up on his own $10 set for all we know...?
  19. Just built this this week, and I must say... When added to the Batmobile set it becomes an outstanding compilation, bordering on essential Lego releases. I also worried that this set wasn't worth the $70 price point, but after building it I can no longer say that's the case. I definitely feel likeit was money well spent.
  20. Speak for yourself.... I'm quite looking forward to him. I'D go as far as saying he's a better fig than movie Bane...
  21. Having had some time to truly digest the onslaught of imagery we were bestowed this afternoon, I am fairly impressed. Love the Batman villains, Love Aquaman, and I'm blown away by Doctor Doom. And yet, all I can keep thinking is... NOVA??!! Are you freakin' kidding me?! Of all the wealth of iconic Marvel characters, we get freakin' NOVA!! Colossus? No. Nightcrawler or Cyclops? Nope. Daredevil? Nah. Human Torch or the Thing?? Negative. Punisher? Nada. But Nova, you betcha. Wait, what???

  23. Aquaman looks spot on-- and Freeze looks especially icy and miserable, hehe
  24. Looks like J. Jonah Jameson there? And if there's a Dr. Doom... where's the FF??
