Review: 10228 Haunted House
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to mostlytechnic's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review! How do you think this stands up next to the Town Hall?? I think I'm gonna get one or the other... -
Well, I still haven't spent that money I put aside.... So, straight up, HAUNTED HOUSE or TOWN HALL?? I'm not a modular guy but am a City Layout builder. So whatever I get will stand out... I'm torn, and curious about both!

Agree with Faefrost. The new Seaside House is a charming little set and a fun build, but it's no challenge to the picturesque beauty of the Lighthouse Island. Probably my favorite of all the Creator sets so far...

Build your own Pirate LEGO Animal Battle Pack - FAQ
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
As much as I'd like that capuchin or jaguar, I'd propose a pack comprised solely of sea life. So then: Whale (5pts), Turtle (3pts), Lobster (1pt), Clam (1pt), Starfish (1pt), Jellyfish (1pt), Seagull (1pt), and the Parrot Shoulder Clip (1pt). Perhaps the parrot clip could be designed to look like an epaulette. Also, might I suggest a new 5pt animal-- A WALRUS! -

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Completed my set tonight, along with a second football player and actor. I dont't get why everyone's so gaga over the Evil Robot, which to me seems pretty unnecessary. I was much more impressed with the skier girl, who I didn't expect to look so good in person. Santa's a pretty great fig, and the Alien Queen fits right into the Alien Conquest theme. Finally, I wanted to say that personally I think the Diver looks much better w/o the 1x1 plates on his feet. They just look too forced or unnatural. Don't really see myself army-building any of these. Maybe a few more football players, cheerleaders and conquistadors but that's it. Feels so weird not gearing up for another round of knights, royal guards or Vikings!! -

Okay people... looking for some advice from the experts! I think my wife has given me the greenlight to invest in a train. A TRAIN!!! Question is, which one-- the Passenger (which I love how it becomes a part of the City & the figs), the Yellow Cargo (which I love the containers and container trucks), or the Red Cargo (whose locomotive design I prefer over the yellow). Obviously I know if I get the Passenger I'll have to invest money in lots of track, to the point that I'll be spending as much as the Cargo Trains... AND bear in mind this will be my first train. Any thoughts from the Train or layout experts??

The hunt is on, my friends!!! Is it just me or isn't this becoming half the fun, waiting for the info to slowly trickle out from the most remote corners of the globe?!

Take it FWIW, but member Hulk_Smash claims to have seen the '13 catalog and offered this when I asked him if he'd seen any City sets: If so, where would this fit in? Mining? Or more construction???

Hey Hulk_Smash, sorry to bother you again, haha... But any info on the Han Solo in the A-Wing set?? Is it a new figure, or just his standard ROTJ look? -

Epic! Finally some news... TLG really seems to be making these small sets buyer-friendly, packing them with great figs and legitimate builds. Let's hope that trend never ends... Hulk_Smash, care to offer any thoughts on what the price points might be judging by the pics?? -
I just noticed... The torso for the minidisc in the GT40 pic is the same torso print used for the Race Car Driver in Series 3, only in a dark green body instead of red. We all know TLG rehashes prints and Parts to keep costs down, but if this was just a unique element of a video game couldn't they just do whatever they want??! Could this be a clue to further support the idea that the GT40, and ultimately all of these, will actually be released??

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Of course it'll be the camo trenchcoat Han, because putting him in the Endor Bunker set would just make too much sense. I have all three previous A-Wing incarnations and wouldn't even blink at another and TLG knows it, so they throw in som fig just to force the collectors' hands. Just like the Ceremonial Leia, Porkins and the new Death Star Trooper... TLG is banking on at least a significant portion of these OT-rehash sets to come just because of a new figure design. Love the Rancor set, but I must say I'm just about done with LSW. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Mr. Elijah Timms replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Grabbed a few at my local TRU today... I hate to pay the inflated price there so I usually only get a handful of what I can't wait for. Tonight I got the Conquistador, the Football Player, the Bat creature, and the Actor. Take it from someone who has a complete set of the CMF Line: the Actor is one of the finest figs of the entire theme. He's perfect. -

If they do a dogsled team set, this theme will be a winner. A pleasing and profitable winner. -

Checked my local TRU this morning... No dice. East Coast USA. -
Hey buddy... So 4429 is a WALMART exclusive??? Thought their only arrangement was for the Spider-Man set??!
-
Anyone have any info on the US availability of 4429 Helicopter Rescue??!! I assumed that it would be released the same time as 4207 Parking Garage, but short of Lego.com it's nowhere to be found. Does anyone have any idea of when it will hit stores... And perhaps even more important, is it an exclusive to any specific store? Target, perhaps?

Personally, I'm really hoping we get a new Service Station/Convenience Store in 2013. It's long overdue, and building techniques have come such a long way since 2007's wonderful 7993 Service Station. I'm sure they could give us something fantastic in the $50-60USD range to update what every city needs. I'd suggest obviously the actual structure itself, complete with well stocked shelves of drinks and snacks and an area with a coffee machine and the checkout counter w/ register. Moving outside we'd need some really well-designed pumps (perhaps a more elaborate version of what's in 4207) with maybe even some stickered plates promoting hot dogs or whatever can be purchased inside,, and an overhang from the store to the gas pumps like in the 7993. There's also another opportunity to add a car wash beside the building or perhaps even a drive-thru counter for fast food. Obviously the set would wrap up with some elaborate signage, from the Octan branding above the station to another sticker display promoting the current pricing of the gasoline by the gallon ( or petrol by the little), with perhaps this one designed to look like LED signage. Other possibilities might include a small air tank station for mini's to pump up their tires; a few round plates on the ground where an Octan tanker could pull up and 'fill' up the tanks; and obviously we'd need a few vehicles too-- I'd love to see a station wagon or mini-van with a 'soccer mom' and her kids (unfortunately I fear TLG would never release a youth & vehicle display since it would only emphasize the shortcoming that short legged figs cannot 'sit' in a chair or car), and maybe a small sporty car or even just a motorcycle. They could even throw in a picnic table outside. This set is ripe for an update!!

EXCEPTIONAL review!!! Very thorough and your pics look great! I've been on the fence with this set, but your close-up looks at the figs make it very, very tempting indeed! Thanks!
