  1. You're welcome to find 'laughable' whatever you'd like. I have a lot of figs and the hero sets are currently in storage.
  2. Oh, thanks-- actually I meant to say STURGEON RESCUE. Our stalwart Coast Guard officer has to save a fish from that shark. Actually just wanted to drop a note to my fellow American builders-- TargetUSA is currently offering a BOGO 50% on all City and Galaxy Squad (however, the sign staed something about not being able interchange themes as part of the deal). They don't have any of the Coast Guard stuff yet, of course, but if you missed out on amount from the Winter wave then this is probably right up your alley. Thought it might be worth sharing...
  3. New face? I don't remember my promo minifig having that expression?!
  4. Wow. That shot of the Kingdoms stronghold next to the Dragon Mountain is one of the single most convincing images I've ever seen on this site and SPEAKS VOLUMES. YEs, there's other elements not pictured there, but it's simply mind-boggling to think that these are two sets at the same price point within two years of release. I'll still get it, but you've certainly illustrated how much TLG is taking out of the usual price points. Very well done.
  5. Saw the Coast Guard sets at TRU tonight. Some prices with the markup, for those that were curious: 60011 Surger Rescue-- $6.99 60012 4x4 & Diving Boat-- $22.99 60013 Coast Guard Helicopter-- $54.99 60014 Coast Guard Patrol-- $89.99 PS-- The boat box is big and beautiful, and really steals attention from thr rest of the City display on the shelf.
  6. Yep, I thought so too. Wasn't financially prepared for it-- actually went there looking for the Gatehouse Raid, but for whatever reason my TRU hasn't had it or the Gold Getaway set as of yet. Strange, but I'm delighted to see the dragon will soon be mine. MWUHAHAHAHA!!!
  7. Saw a half-dozen Dragon Mountain sets at my local TRU today... Prob go back in the next few days to pick one up. TRU price was $54.99... Would rather a few more figs but otherwise looks very enticing...
  8. Just picked up 2 Forest Ambush's at TRU -- with the BOGO currently live that's 8 figs, 2 dogs, a mini arsenal and four mini-builds for just over $20USD!! 8 FIGS FOR $20! Bargain! Also, I was so caught up with the Lion Knights and how they'd fit in with the Crownies (the color blue is not an issue, but the darker gray legs are-- but that's another story), I didn't anticipate being as impressed as I was by the Red Dragons!!! Great torsos, great shields, great faction! I was pleasantly surprised by how nice these red guys finally look in hand.
  9. Well... I like your choice of colors for each faction. But the set ideas... Well, I appreciate your imagination, but it just doesn't seem like my kind of thing. But good luck...
  10. Sooooooo tempted to go grab that castle right now, but with all you AFOLs poo-pooing on it I think I might have to hold out until the winter for a sale price. Heck, I got the Kingdoms Castle at HALF PRICE and you guys even liked that one. Personally I love it and can't wait to move my Crownies into it. Heck, I've even. Named it and am planning a MOD to hang vines across the left side!
  11. Nice review. Am I the only one who anticipates brick linking some Crownies shields and just blending these guys into that faction? Luckily the torsos sport the crown, not the lion head (well, except for the knight's armor).
  12. Wow! Didn't think I'd see this review this soon..... Thanks for the review!!
  13. Man, that cargo plane is just MONSTROUS... Airport sets gobble up so much layout space to begin with, but I just don't see myself ever being able to work up an airstrip big enough to even suggest that this thing could land. Probably gonna pass, but love the others!
  14. I guess the real question is "Is it worth the reaction I'll get from my wife when I tell her I've bought it?!"
  15. If only the Rebellion had remained hidden until the TLG contract went into effect-- surely they would've won with all of the ample snow speeders laying about :) Seriously though, I enjoyed the build. Certainly putting all of these Echo Base sets together gives you a substantial play area and a full cast for it. And who doesn't love another Tauntaun?
  16. As small as the actual build is, I found it to be far from an insignificant, throwaway build. This set would have been far better with a 4th soldier instead of the LR, but it's well worth the price, esp. With the horse thrown in! I'm especially pleased that TLG opted to give the soldiers white gloves instead of flesh hands... It's easy enough ordering a few extra yellow heads from Pick A Brick, but converting to yellow is much more difficult with all these fleshie hands floating around. Thanks TLG!
  17. Great review as always... It's amazes me how I just can't get these Galaxy Squad sets out of my brain!! As an adult I have no business daydreaming about them as much as I do-- in office meetings, while driving, etc. I suppose it's all about the aesthetics, really. Makes me glad they all don't feature the green team, or I'd be in trouble!!!
  18. I could be wrong... But it looks like there's several new heads/face prints in this theme. And that's a good thing.
  19. That TreeHouse is cute and all... But, uhh, where's the tree?!
  20. Toysnbricks is reporting that the Summer sets are now available at Toysrus.com... http://toysnbricks.com/lego-city-galaxy-squad-summer-2013-now-available-at-tru-us/
  21. Anybody else notice really loose legs on the Tomahawk warrior? I have 4 and every single one has noticeably loose legs on the waist assembly. Strange...
  22. Getting back to the Coast Guard and Parcel sub themes.... Does anyone have a release date for these? We've got to be getting close soon, right?
  23. The tomahawk feels very much like a wand... The blade is soft & flexible and almost seems to disappear, ESP if it's nestled in the crease of the bag's edge. Personally, I can't get enough of the Revolutionary soldiers.... What a perfect army builder!
  24. Needs more money for these summer waves. And storage space.

  25. What surprised me so much when building this set was how much it looked like a traditional speedboat-- right up until you put those long dark green rounded slopes across the top on either side. To me, that's when it became, I not know, a weird-looking model of sorts. Still, with the 2 hero figs this is certainly a set worth getting. Nice review as always Masked Builder.
