  1. Amen to that - but we knew that already :) I love the exterior on all the floors, and the colours used are lovely. The brick effect on the ground floor is a nice touch. And the interiors are exquisite - especially the butcher's and that apartment on the top two floors. I'm looking forward to your entry for the Modular Madness contest, it's going to mean fierce competition for the rest of us...
  2. Yes, very nice - especially that first one with the basket :) Strange how it seems impossible to agree on a date - here in Norway it's the second Sunday in February each year, but we seem to be the only one who celebrates it on that day... Wikipedia mentions 31 different days that are celebrated as Mother's Day around the world. It's not March 18 in the UK and May 13 in the US every year - it's the fourth Sunday in Lent in the UK (and Ireland) and the second Sunday of May in the US (and the majority of other countries). Well, you live and learn!
  3. I agree - that church looks great. I'd love to see some more pictures of it.
  4. Haha! Together we can make it right :)
  5. BrickCityDepot's instructions are digital, so there's no need to 'make more'. Just to inform people who are reading this thread: You should note that the posts in the thread are about at least three different sellers. It can get confusing :)
  6. Yep, very nice and very realistic - highly recognisable! I've seen a few of these over the years :)
  7. I don't much care for clone brands, and I'll never buy a set that's 'not Lego'. BrickForge and the likes are different, because they're designed to add to the Lego experience, not replace it - they're small companies created by Lego enthusiasts. What I dislike most of all, though, is the use of the word 'hate' on this forum - like in this topic title. Hate is a word that should never be used about anything that's related to Lego. I'd appreciate it if people would try to find more appropriate terms.
  8. This is great - it's the first Cuusoo product that really tickles my fancy. I wonder which building they'll choose?
  9. Unless a relative of Juan and Evita beat him to it, he might still be the first Peron...
  10. I'm very certain that this will turn out to be just as lovely as your other ships. I really don't know of anybody else who designs large Lego ships with such eye for detail and realistic colours as you do. Keep it up - I'll be following the progress :)
  11. I think your creation bears a remarkable resemblance to the real thing, especially when you consider the scale, and it's a beautifully designed MOC. And I'm also disappointed that Lego won't produce buildings that have religious significance (which the Hagia Sophia undoubtedly does, at least historically), because that means there are so many wonderful architectural structures that we'll never see in the Architecture line. So many of the world's greatest designs were made in honour of one religion or other. But when it comes to appealing Lego's decision to remove your project from CUUSOO, I don't see the point. We all know that if a project reaches 10,000 votes, it has to pass a Lego review - and they've already stated what they think of it, so even if they said 'well OK, we'll allow it back on CUUSOO' it still wouldn't pass that review if it were ever to make it that far...
  12. A link would be nice, but if it's this you're talking about... ...you'll need to look for the sticker sheets that came with the very rare 10022 and 10025 Santa Fe car sets (the sheets are the same in both sets). Try here :)
  13. 4435's got two nice 'civilian' minifigs, and could have been a great set, but it's too simplified for my taste. The caravan isn't that well designed. I'd rather go with 4441 - the sports car is one of the best in years, and the van is nice, too. My two cents, anyway.
  14. It's been removed. I'm guessing you filed a complaint?
  15. Saw this on Flickr yesterday, and I'm very impressed. It's enormous! And looks lovely, as well. How many parts?
  16. I like this contest more and more :)
  17. While I definitely do agree that Australian prices generally are way too high, it's worth noticing that it's not just you who are being "milked for cash". Before you look at the prices below, you should know that VAT is included in Norwegian prices, so this is what the sets would actually cost you if you buy the sets from S@H in Norway. And yes, the standard of living and the level of income is high up here. But the differences are still quite wild compared to the US - and even the UK. I've converted the AUD to USD by multiplying the prices with 1.01. The exchange rates are correct here in Norway as of today's date - so all these prices are USD. I also added UK for a European comparison: 6865: US price $12.99; Australian price $25.24; UK price $19.30; Norwegian price $25.42. 6866 & 6867: US price $19.99; Australian price $50.49; UK price $32.18; Norwegian price $50.92. 6868: US price $49.99; Australian price $100.99; UK price $80.48; Norwegian price $118.83. 6869: US price $69.99; Australian price $131.29; UK price $112.68; Norwegian price $135.83. The 6868 example is particularly crazy. I'm not saying this to complain about Lego prices. I'm just saying that Australians aren't alone in being "milked" :)
  18. Now, that's a special way to propose. Congratulations!
  19. I had a look through their catalogue, and while the designs are way too kitchy for my taste, I love your versions of them. I would have big problems choosing one from that catalogue if I were to order one from you. I bet the rescue station will look amazing when it's done. Keep up the good work! Maybe I'll buy one at some point :)
  20. At first I didn't remember anything about that either, so I went back to see and found this: ...hence the question :) It's not like I'm going completely overboard - the ground floor consists of just a bit more than 1,000 bricks, so the total will probably be around 3-3,500. Not that much more than TH...
  21. I'm very grateful for this competition, as I've been having a bit of a creative block when it comes to modular buildings after finishing my bank early this year. But now I started exploring some ideas, went back to MLCad like I normally do, and before I knew it I had finished a ground floor that I think may be my best yet. Now, if I can only finish the two next floors in style... I'm just a bit worried by the high piece count. The biggest of the modulars yet is the Town Hall with 2766 pieces - how picky are you about that bit? It's a bit of a bummer not to be able to add proper interiors when that's probably what I do best :)
  22. L@go

    Outlaw Trike

...and said goodbye to being able to fit the minifig...?
  23. Haha! Great addition!
  24. I really like your huge trucks, and this is no exception. Not very town-friendly, though :)
  25. Lovely! You've got some interesting angles there, and it looks just as menacing as it should :)
