The ground floor in particular is gorgeous, inside and out. Perfect colours, superb detailing. I also very much like the details above the window on the tan part of the first floor. And the cactus. And the birds... :) The greenery and light bluish grey bars on the left side of the building pose a problem because they make it incompatible with another building on that side, and as LeeMcG said, the connection points are missing. But the building itself is a(nother) great entry.

These are truly excellent - especially the corner building. I love those dark red awnings, and the whole building looks so much like the original. I'm always impressed by people who manage to build realistic minifig-sized models of real-life buildings. Add to that the lighting effects, and you've got a couple of exceptional buildings. Great work!

I like this a lot - it's an innovative twist to Category 3. Is that some kind of Technic spoiler you've used above the doors on the ground and top floors? The fact that you've given each floor a different colour code is a great and realistic detail. And I love the way you've used medium blue 1x1 tiles to give the impression of rounded edges on the P. Clever!

Another great addition to your (truly spectacular) upcoming diorama. Keep them coming! :) I particularly like the lamppost.

Another fantastic modular. I'm planning on photographing and entering mine tomorrow, but I'm suspecting I could just save myself the hassle :) there really are, as all the others have said, an astonishing number of great entries to the contest. Your first contest entry might just give you a nice prize... I love just about everything about this. The colours, the details... it's all designed with great skill. And the interiors - I can't quite see them well enough, so I'm off to Flickr to study the other pictures :) Good question!

This is a great idea, and the pavilion is skilfully designed. And the food looks delicious :) The Weird Al reference is just the right thing to top it off...

I believe the word is indeed 'wow'. This is a spectacular entry, and there are just too many gorgeous details to comment on, but this is definitely one of my favourite entries thus far. I, for one, am off to Flickr for a closer look!

I'm not too sure about the exterior of the first floor, with those small windows. But your colour choices are nice, the idea (and execution) of the rooftop design is great, and in general, you're very good with interiors. I wouldn't worry about the lack of tiling - none of the official modulars have tiling above the ground floor, either. For a first ever MOC, I'd say you should be very happy with this!

You've got an idea here that's different from all the rest, and for that you deserve praise. You've also done some great work on the detailing. I'm no huge fan of the rear wall, and the floors somehow look too tall (how tall is the building compared to the official modulars?). But the colours work very well, and those windows are among the best I've seen.

Brilliant, you might just win the whole thing with this. And you're right, it is even better than your other one :)

The choice of colours is great, and the architecture is really nice, as usual with your creations. I also like the fact that it's a corner building - there aren't too many of those. Regarding the interior, I love the reception desk, the railing on the staircase and the workspace for the journalists - being one myself I can relate to that kind of environment :) well done, and good luck!

This looks fantastic. I love the brickwork on the corners, the decorations around the windows and the greenery. Masterfully detailed!

Modular Madness: Tea house and bride's dress boutique
L@go replied to Redhead1982's topic in LEGO Town
Great entry. I particularly like your interiors - the ground floor of the tea house is amazing. You're very good at matching colours :) -
You certainly didn't disappoint! The exterior obviously looks even better now that it's done, and the interior is no less impressive. I especially like the layout of the ground floor with the angled ATM section and the column. Great job, and the best of luck in the contest!

I'd also love to see this brick-built, as it's really a lovely design. I had a go at a 8x32 modular myself a while ago, and I know how hard it is to fit an interior, but you seems to have succeeded quite well. Great job - now please build it! EDIT: Inserted link.

Great. Now I've drooled all over my laptop. I don't know how you do it, but every time I think you've built something that's so great that you can't possibly top it, you do just that. I'm envious and awestruck, especially by those curves and the gorgeous Art Deco architecture. Well done, again! Surely, you can't top... wait a minute. You probably can.

I think I'd have tiled the ground floor. But other than that I wouldn't have changed a single thing - I'll just call it gorgeous and leave it at that! I'm going to get into some serious problems when it's voting time...
-
Let me start with the one thing I don't like: The windows without glass on the ground floor. But I don't know how you could solve that. And apart from that, it's great - the idea is probably the best one yet in this contest, and the passage itself is gorgeous, with its diagonally tiled floor. The interiors are wonderful, all of them, and there are some great details: The Fabuland watering can as a sign is nice, the barbershop is packed with greatness, and although you're not being awfully nice to those leaf pieces, it's an interesting way to make small trees. And your custom stickers add to the end result. Overall a great modular and another entry that'll be hard to beat... :)

Brilliant! I love the way you can follow the product from the first brick to complete assembly. Well done :)
-
I really like this one. In my opinion, mini modulars are very hard to build, and they often seem to suffer from their builder wanting to add too much detail, so they end up looking cluttered. This is just about perfect, and contains a lot of very nice parts usage. I'm very much looking forward to your actual contest entry!
-
Great stuff as always from you! My only niggle is that I'm not too sure how they'll fit with the official modulars. Have you tried?
-
The exterior is nice, the interior is excellent! I love all those little details. You've got an eye for furnishing :)
-
The facade of this building is absolutely lovely, whether it matches the other modulars or not! The use of the masonry bricks is subtle and adds just the right amount of colour - and it's impossible not to comment on those garage door windows. That's probably the most innovative and impressive part of the building. But the glass above the entrance is also very nice, particularly the way you've 'supported' it with those whips. Oh, and I like the way you've attached the fence pieces upside down! The interiors are good, too. The use of that wedge piece for a blanket is something I haven't seen before, and it's a good idea. I wish you the best of luck in the competition - a competition that has some truly astonishing entries...

Nice one. I'm not too fond of the colour choices for the exterior and interior of the ground floor, but the other two are pure class. The interiors are very well designed, but what I like most is those flower boxes on the corners. Very good use of those robot arms, horns and (I assume) hoses.
