I agree with what the others have said - this is another great build, like we've learned to expect from you. That piping and the red stripes really add to the realism of the model. Every time you post a new creation I keep thinking that you're going to have a hard time trying to top it, but still you manage to come up with something new and awesome...

I'm one of those who have said that your MOCs really deserved better photography, and I'm so glad you've got a new camera. These new shots are so much better and do your wonderful Art Deco buildings (and matching cars) justice in a totally different way. Congratulations - looking forward to new creations photographed beautifully :)

How nice to see a Norwegian entry - and you've done a fabulous job of recreating Stortinget at this scale. I especially like the kittens, that's a hilarious parts choice :D I'd love to see you tackle Slottet in the same way...

Stunning. This challenge really brings out some fantastic entries!

That's funny. My favourite is the steamroller :) Personally, I like to let my s(t)igfig drive something a bit more exotic...

MOC: 1940s Trams in Stureplan (Stockholm, Sweden)
L@go replied to Skrytsson's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I have to agree with the others - the trams are great and look so good in that shade of blue. My favourite details, though, are the poster, the giant umbrella in between the trams, and the minifig combos. Great job - and, yes, mycket, mycket snyggt! -
Try this topic. You'll find answers to most of your questions :) Fully Brick Models, the seller you're referring to, isn't mentioned there. But I've purchased a set of instructions from that source, too, and it looks very good. I haven't built that building yet, though, because as you say, it would cost a fortune to do so. These buildings are very detailed, and therefore contain an awful lot of parts.

Your buildings all look lovely - the official sets and your own designs go very well together. That's a very, very nice table of modulars :)

Architecture MOC: 15 Central Park West
L@go replied to sonicstarlight's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Amazing. Absolutely stunning! You, Sir, are one of the most talented builders among us. I don my hat. -
This is a really good idea and a wonderful build. I love the modularity, and the fact that it isn't built on a regular square or rectangular base. Well done!

It looks absolutely ridiculous and completely unrealistic. But so do the originals :) good job on getting this so right!

An internet tale Winchester/Shaun of the Dead project on CUUSOO
L@go replied to Yatkuu's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Congratulations, Yatkuu - this project deserves to be considered by Lego. I'm excited to see what they'll do with it, but if this turns into a set I sure am going to buy one - if nothing else, so for the wonderful building itself. And although I'm pretty sure that wasn't your motivation, I hope you'll make a decent buck on it as well :) -
As always, your builds are top notch! I like the dark red chairs and the SNOTted counter in the bar, and your floor patterns are lovely. The other interiors are great, too, my only niggle is that I think the counters in the bakery and café are maybe a plate or two too tall for the minifigs (especially in the bakery, where the poor guy behind the counter can barely see over the edge...), but apart from that it's wonderful - that oven is gorgeous! And the shoe rack at the tailor's is a great touch. Your exteriors are all fantastic. I love the art deco look that you recreate so perfectly, it makes for wonderful facades that are detailed without being cluttered. And those vehicles... they're both fab. Especially the white one outside the bar - so sleek and elegant. Great job, snaillad - keep it up! Now, on to Flickr... :)

Personally, I'm not in doubt: The smaller front tires, chrome alloys all around (wheel solution from the first picture), chrome air scoop and possibly rear bumper, and the rest in black (save for the chrome edge on the grille). It's a very nice rod, by the way :)
-
I have to agree - this is a fantastic design, and wonderfully detailed. Well done!
-
This is amazing. The exterior is wonderful, but the fact that it swings open... it just adds a whole new dimension to the building. Fantastic work!

I'll add another picture to this thread - but let me just address a couple of replies first: Thanks - they might not get into a catalogue anytime soon, but I was really honoured to be asked for permission to add an image of the Milk Truck to the LEGO Designer Trend Wall! According to the group description on Flickr, "This group is for LEGO Models picked out from Flickr by some of the LEGO Designers to be printed out and displayed on the 'Trend Wall' inside the LEGO Design Studio for the rest." And, "Chosen MOCs will be displayed in the studio for between one week and one month." How cool is that, knowing that a MOC of mine is hanging on the wall in the LEGO design studio? :D Ah! No, I have no plans for those - I've been considering 6661, but I'm not too keen on the antenna, so I'll look elsewhere for inspiration :) Let me just add another image (or two, actually) of the Milk Truck and the modern 6651. I've always been fascinated with 3D photography, and when I stumbled across some photos that created the 3D effect by using the cross-eyes technique, I suddenly realised it didn't need to be so difficult to pull off some basic shots. Here's my first attempt - I'm astonished that this actually works: It's even better if you download the large version and save it to your harddisk, and then look at it in the largest resolution that will fit on your computer screen. And if you just don't get it (hey, don't worry, it's perfectly normal), there's a very quick explanation here :)

Enjoyed it? Certainly! It looks very good next to the Pet Shop buildings. The whole house is very nice, inside and out - both the architecture and the interior details are great. Well done :)

9VLEGOTrainfan's Lego Train Crash Video re-posted by Multidollar12
L@go replied to DLuders's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Who exactly are you talking to? Have you read the first post? The 'video thief' hasn't posted anything here. DLuders posted a video he found on YouTube. -
Yum. I was going to say "well done" but I'm not sure that's the right expression in this case, seeing the colour of that meat :)

REVIEW: 8831 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 7
L@go replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you for another great review. I agree with the several others who have said that this might just be the best series yet - it's got great figures if you just leave them as they are, but as parts packs they're fantastic too. So many great faces, torsos, hairpieces and accessories! -
I just received three sets today and promptly built one. I quite like the design and size of it, and the minifig is a great addition, even if it's not that special. The paperback booklet is nice, too. The 1x1 round tiles are flat silver, if anyone was wondering.

Thanks again! As I said, it's very inspiring to get so much input. I don't follow you... I don't know myself which ones I'll choose - or at least I didn't when I first read your post. Now I've got some ideas. But what vehicles were you thinking of? Thank you - I'm very happy with that one. Regarding those pins - they don't concern me very much, but I do agree that using a light bluish grey version of the 2x2 plate with wheel holders and Technic pins would probably be better than the black one. I'll get one with my next BL order :) Hahah! For those of you who are now wondering 'what on earth is he on about', have a look here (Wikipedia) or here (IMDB) - or even here to buy the DVD (if you're interested in cars, it'll be worth it. The models are astonishing). It's a Norwegian stop-motion puppet movie from 1975, called 'Pinchcliffe Grand Prix' in English, and it's a cult classic here in Norway. I'm guessing from your user name, fyrmedhatt, that you're from these shores :) As for your question: Trust me, I've thought about it. But the real star of the movie, Il Tempo Gigante, is so insanely detailed that I don't know how I could have made it work on the scale I'm used to... If you do a Google search for Il Tempo Gigante and Lego you'll find some other people's attempts, but they don't do it justice. I suspect DrNightmare could probably do quite a nice eight-wide one, though! (Side note: I was lucky enough to sit in the full-scale replica last year, and hear it fire up. It's mental. Absolutely mental.)

Thanks, Phred! It's a pleasure to please the Regulator :)

I'm already supporting this, but this upgrade makes it even more desirable - very well done. Just one thing - I agree that the staircase is really lovely, but isn't it terribly flimsy? It looks like every step is made up of transparent 1x2 bricks held up by a single 1x1 headlight brick - and I can't imagine anything that fragile ever ending up in a Lego set.
