  1. I really like both the idea and the way it turned out. The best of luck to you in the competition!
  2. Well, I did this a while ago :) While I don't know exactly how much your version differs from the original Emerald Night, a lime version should be possible.
  3. It's sad to see such a great layout being torn apart, but I certainly wish both you and the rest of your family the best of luck with the move and getting started again in a new place.

This does indeed look fantastic. Add this to the other cars you've already shown us, and your lovely Painted Ladies, and we all know that the whole thing will look absolutely gorgeous when it's done. You are uncannily good at recreating that '50s atmosphere, and your building style can't really be mistaken for anybody else's - which is one of the true hallmarks of a really great builder. Please keep us drooling!
  5. Again: Amazing stuff. And the colour combinations are great - part of what makes your cars so nice is that you build them in so many different colours. It really adds some spice to a scene (not that your dioramas need added spice, of course...)!
  6. The exterior still looks stunning, and the interior certainly doesn't disappoint, it's absolutely fantastic. I love the bed on the first floor and that cheese-tiled mosaic floor - but what I really adore is the spiral staircase inside that round corner. It's brilliant. Best of luck in the competition, this certainly is a very strong contender!
  7. I've praised this on Flickr and I'll repeat it here: I really love the amount of details and the variation you've managed to build into this. All those different colours and building styles, but still it doesn't look cluttered. And my favourite detail is the use of those exhaust pipes as crossbeams. There's no doubt in my mind that you rank among the very best modular builders out there. Keep 'em coming! :)
  8. That is indeed a very good idea. I might have to nick that from you :)
  9. Looks stunning. An incredible Lego build.
  10. This is wonderfully detailed, and that's rarely a bad thing as long as the details are as well-built as here :) I think what I like most about it is that it's different from other modulars I've seen. I also like the general idea of a motorcycle shop and the built-in elevator. It's possible that it'd look even better if you had removed an accent colour or three, but overall it's a great build and one that's surely going to do very well in the competition :)
  11. Stunning work - of all the Lilliput Lane houses, this was the one I hoped would be your next creation. And you didn't disappoint! It looks lovely - like all the others - and the light blue (Maersk or medium blue) is a great choice for an accent colour. And those windows, the door hinges, the roof, the greenery... so much to enjoy. Off to Flickr now for a closer look :)
  12. Another great entry! My favourite part of this one is the colour choice, both for the exterior and the interior - and the interior details are wonderful. The clothing racks are superb :)
  13. Congratulations! EDIT: Oops - I didn't see the small lettering saying "Nominated For"... :D But the best of luck to you!
  14. A great building, inside and out. The exterior is absolutely stunning, with wonderful detailing and some lovely colour choices - even the back of the building is great - and the interior is no less impressive, with great furniture and, my favourite, that clock shop/workshop. I see my own chances of success in this competition trickling slowly down the drain... :)
  15. You'll find all the information you need in this topic :) Creator sets go in Special Themes.
  16. To find out, just download the instructions :)
  17. The first sign that the competition in this contest is going to be absolutely fierce. A great modular for sure - I love the facade (and the colours are great), but equally much I really appreciate how you've added so much detail to the back. That backyard is lovely! My only complaint would have to be that it seems very tall compared to the official modulars - none of them have more than three floors.
  18. This is so simple that it's brilliant. Nice and clean, and some wonderful details: Chair, blinds, and that monitor! Well done :)
  19. It's just as wonderful as your other ships, and it's absolutely amazing how many realistic details you manage to cram into these. I agree about the ladders made from grille tiles, that's a great way to make them. You know, these look huge and imposing in pictures. I can just guess how impressive they must be when they're on a table before you :)
  20. Personally, I'd enjoy your builds even more if you'd use classic minifigs - but that doesn't detract from the fact that this is a brilliantly built classic roadster. And the mudguards are just about perfect. Might just be your best yet!
  21. I really like this - it's wonderful! A lovely park which makes a more than worthy entry to the contest. This is my favourite category 2 entry thus far. Loving the lime accents!
  22. This is going to be great when it's done! I really like the different colours and the subtle variation in details between the four houses, it's very realistic. A fitting home for your gorgeous cars, and a mega MOC indeed!

How on earth did I miss this? This is incredible! The huge advantage of building in this scale is obviously that you can build a bigger diorama without using so many bricks - but when the diorama gets as big as this, it consumes a lot of bricks anyway :) The only thing I'd do differently, although it'd naturally be a bit more expensive, is to swap the blue bricks (tiles? plates?) you've used for the sea for some trans-blue ones. When the rest is so gorgeously detailed, blue seems like a somewhat plain choice. Apart from that, it's absolutely fantastic!
  24. It might be possible to combine the two, actually. I'll tinker a bit more with it :) Actually, no - this is newer and will probably take a bit longer to collect the pieces to finish. I've just exceeded my Lego budget for this summer...
  25. Thank you for your input! I agree with you on option #1 - and it does bear a slight resemblance to a 2CV, like bootz said. I actually think the hinge brick looks a bit like a grille, so I'm not averse to using that one, but that might be because I grew up with that part being used for just that in classic Lego sets (6627, 6629, 6655...). Regarding the grille bracket - if I do that, it won't sit flush with the curved brick anymore, so that's one reason for mounting it so low - I'll mention another one below. I'm not entirely sure yet. Maybe I'll extend it a bit and turn it into the world's coolest hearse? I chose the curved pieces and low grille with old Renaults in mind: ...but you may be right. I'll probably go with #3 - it also has the added bonus of making the bonnet/hood openable :)
