  1. These are great! The scale is too big for my setup, but a whole layout full of these would be really nice. I like how you've done several variations on a few themes. The truck and pickup are both very nice, but I think my favourite is the blue two-seater (that's a neat trick, using hinge plates as a grille). It reminds me of my old Fiat X1/9, it was just the same colour (but significantly less chunky, your looks more like a Porsche of some sort). Well done!
  2. A really nice roadster. I agree with DrNightmare about the windscreen, but apart from that you've done a great job, especially with all the working features - that interior is really amazing. It actually reminds me quite a bit of the Pontiac Solstice - especially from behind, with that light arrangement:
  3. I just realised that I was the one that suggested that you build a bigger version to enter into the competition! I'm proud to have seen the incredible potential in your creation :D EDIT: I know I bumped an older topic, but I thought it would be interesting for other people to see what predated the great contest entry, too.
  4. Thanks again for the nice comments :) Plenty! Have a look in this photoset on Flickr. Nope, it's built from this part and this part. They only exist in yellow, though, underneath that chrome coating (it's only on the curved surfaces), so I had to cover up the ends :)

    MOC: Modular Bank

It's always fun when something old pops up on the front page, receiving comments from people who didn't see it back when it was posted. Thanks for all the great comments, I'm glad you like it! It'll be at the Fan Weekend in Skærbæk in September, for those of you who'd like an opportunity to see it up close :)
  6. Yes, congratulations to the worthy winners! My taste is representative for the average Eurobricker, as I voted for all three entries :) And a big thanks to Eurobricks for hosting this contest - it was a lot of fun participating, and it really brought out the best in everyone. I know that I would never have built a petting zoo if it wasn't for this, and I'm very happy to have got as many votes as I did in this excellent company!
  7. That is an amazing project, both in scale and design, and the end result is nothing short of gorgeous. The Countach lends itself well to being recreated in bricks due to its many sharp edges and flat surfaces, so it's a clever choice. And to think you started this in 2007? That is planning on a very impressive scale. The size of it is incredible, too - it certainly dominates your living room!
  8. I agree - it's the second one that does it for me (it really is unmistakably a Rolls). I'm not keen on using the trans-clear cheese slopes as a window on the first one; I prefer the panels, or - obviously, if you've seen my cars - the hinge tile with 1x4 windscreen. But I know you've said you don't like the hinge tile solution, although I can't for my life understand why... Using the mudguards like that is obviously clever, but I think the bar/binoculars/flag combo is even better - it makes the whole front section flow very nicely. The whole front end is very well done.
  9. A great little MOC - I like it when it's personal, not just another creation. I'm guessing you use the flute when you get bored? :D

    Castor city

That is huge - and hugely impressive. Your own models are great, and I really like the way you've altered some of the official sets to fit into your layout. A modular city to be properly proud of, for sure!

    MOC: Bungalo

Nice build - and very nice shot! You're good at creating clean designs.
  12. That's quite an impressive project! I'd love to see this up close at some point - it's wonderfully detailed and so massive. The only little thing I see that could have been done better is the angle of the bow, it seems like it's a bit upright and should have been tilted slightly outwards. But that would probably have been a huge undertaking, so I can fully understand why you've left it the way it is. And the whole thing still looks amazing :)
  13. Nice job! I've got a tan pedestal for my own Lady Liberty, but it's not as detailed and nicely constructed as yours. I've been planning to upgrade it to a more studless look, and I can see that's probably the way to go. Thanks for the inspiration!
  14. The first one. Any Danes are welcome to correct me, but I'm pretty sure that's just about the best way to explain the pronunciation to a person who speaks English.
  15. I don't know if this is the place to ask for this, but I can't recall having seen a separate topic for the Inside Tour exclusive Piper jet. Not long after the pictures of the set surfaced, LEGO uploaded the instructions to their Customer Service webpages (if I'm not badly mistaken), but they were removed soon after - the links I've found on other websites don't work anymore. I didn't download them, but I'd love to build a copy for myself. So, my question is: Did anybody else react quickly enough to download the instructions? And if so, can I please have a copy? :)
  16. This is quickly turning into a thread about pronouncing Danish names correctly, which was probably never the intention. But what you Danes need to remember is that even though "Olympics" and "Lego" are good examples of the same O sound in Danish, the O in both words are pronounced "oh" in English (the first one with a long "oh" sound, the second with a short one). I think the best way to spell it so that an English-speaking person will understand, is "OO-lah", where the OO is pronounced like an Englishman would (for example in the word "fool"), rather than how an American would. And it's still nowhere near perfect, but better than "oh-lay". I have also thought it strange when people refer to him as Ole Kirk. Kirk is a given name in most English-speaking countries (Kirk Douglas...) but, as far as I know, not in Denmark. Instead, it's a middle name, but not a second given name; rather one that is derived from a geographical name, probably a short form of the Danish word for church, "kirke". It's directly comparable to the name of the previous US president; it would be strange to consequently refer to him as "George Walker". Walker is his middle name, a second surname. Anyway, that's how I see it. And now we probably should be getting back to topic :) EDIT: And the pronunciation of Kirk should be something like "Keer-k", with a clear "ee" sound.

    MOC: small yacht

I really like this - it's pretty much exactly how I wish Lego's official boats looked. I can understand why they returned to floating hulls, but the brick-built ones, like this, look so much better. And the fact that it even has an interior makes it even better. Well done - we don't see too many boats in this forum, but if they're going to be this good when they show up, I can wait a while between each one :)
  18. That's a pretty nice roadster you've got there. I particularly like the idea for the hood ornament and that spare tire. And the frog...
  19. I agree, the new one is a bit more brash with all its chrome. And the previous truck is more closely based on your design, so you should like it better Thank you! It's this wheel, and the tire is this one, which hasn't been produced since 1977. There are plenty of used ones around, though.
  20. I've been looking at your images on Flickr, and I'm very impressed by what you've built. The buildings are top notch, and the whole layout is one of the better town layouts I've seen. Well done :)
  21. Woohoo! Thanks a lot :) Thank you very much - I think of finding the right driver as one of the key elements to making a good vehicle. It all needs to fit together!
  22. Thanks again, guys - it's very inspiring to hear your kind words about these. Why am I not surprised? :) Thanks! It's one of my favourites, too, it turned out really well.
  23. That's a brilliant first effort. I really like the architectural details, and the interior is no less impressive. To make it fit in even better with the official modulars, I'd add another floor - but it's great the way it is, too. I hope you'll be posting many more of your creations!
  24. I'd probably go for set #4000012 Piper Airplane, the set handed out to the participants on this year's exclusive tour. Partly because it's rare, but mainly because I really like the way it's designed. If I could find the instructions somewhere (LEGO uploaded them to their website, but then removed them again, and I didn't save them in time) I might build one for my own collection.
  25. How prud? Sorry, I just had to
