The hospital is L.G. Orlando's: You can find more pictures of it in L.G. Orlando's photostream, or you could buy the instructions on his website, BrickBuildersPro. I did - it's a lovely model :) The Television Studio, which I also spy in there, is another great kit of his. I believe there's quite a few of BrickCityDepot's kits as well, at least four or five - they're good, too.

I'd say your time was well spent, considering how amazing the end result is. It was nice to see this up close. You definitely deserved both the praise and the prize :)

I think you're right, there isn't. At least I can't think of any way you could achieve that exact result with any piece I know of. I agree with Tribolego that you can use two of those wedge pieces to get the shape right, but not the exact result. Strange one, that.

I'll repeat my praise here, Carl: These are absolutely gorgeous. Might just be the best LEGO car models I've ever seen. Please build more! It's not that I don't like trains, but I love cars... :)

Brickworld Chicago 2014 Countdown Chatter and Pizza Party.

Let me tell you: I really, really want next year's BW to be my first US event. Hope to see you guys there! -
I'm glad to see this being presented here as well as on Flickr. As I said over there: I think this is absolutely gorgeous, realistic or not, and I'd happily let something like this into my tabletown, if I had one. The colour combination is great, and the shapes and curves are wonderful. I really like those round dishes used as skylights. And your lovely cars add an extra touch to the whole thing. Keep it up!

Fun to find this on the first page again. I'm glad you like it - it's still my favourite of all the things I've built, so it's rewarding that it appeals to other people as well!

I see you grew impatient and started a second topic to ask about the pneumatic piece - and you've got an answer already. I don't know if you've found the other items you wanted to know about, but they're here, if I've understood you correctly: Minifig, Utensil Binoculars Town Bar 1L with Clip Mechanical Claw

Thanks again :) I just feel compelled to point out, again, that... ...I didn't "do" the tree. Marco ('Ecclesiastes) did - he's the one who posted the breakdown above.

It is indeed a Fabuland window.

Thank you for your kind words! I'll consider putting it on Ideas, but as I said in an earlier post, the chances of this making it through to 10,000 votes within a year are pretty close to zero, so it's probably not worth the hassle. When it comes to "releasing instructions", that's a huge amount of work (much more than anybody who hasn't tried making any themselves will ever understand) and probably won't happen. That said, if I were ever to make instructions - for sale - for a build bigger than this, the Snack Bar might be a good choice, as it seems very popular...

You deserve some more, too, because it's a very nice build. I like the way you've used the masonry and wood profile bricks. The interior is nice, too - and I especially like all the different minifigs you've put in there, it gives the MOC a lot of life. The LED lights you've built into it is also a particularly cool addition. I'm very tempted to try to do that with some of my own MOCs - it really adds another dimension to the whole thing.

It's a bit big for my personal taste, but I love that clever liftarm in the back. The animation shows it off very nicely. Well built!

A big thanks to you last guys as well! Seeing as so many of you seem to have enjoyed the snack bar, I thought I'd tell you that I've added another redux to my Flickr stream: The Big 1 - an updated version of the classic 6641 4-Wheelin' Truck. Big 1 1 by L@go, on Flickr Big 1 9 by L@go, on Flickr And a shot of it next to the original: Big 1 10 by L@go, on Flickr Hope you enjoy it :)

Very nice! I particularly like the Apple store - it's a little more restrained. Those dark tan 2x2 tiles on the facade really look good - and the way you've replaced some of them to be able to attach those small lamps is creative. Well done!

Very well done. You tend to impress with your builds, and while this is (or at least appears to be) a much simpler thing to pull off (or pull down...?) than, say, your incredible trains with motorised doors, I find it equally intriguing. Especially since I, like the others, can't remember having seen anything like this before. I repeat: Well done!

A very nice, clean design - colourful, yet restrained enough to look good. I can totally understand why ER0L pushed you to post it here. I'd love to see this brick-built!

Agreed - it looks fantastic. I really, really like it. Will need to pick one up!

Thank you again :) Yes, I could - but that's not how I envisioned it, that's why I added the pavement. I think it'll look better with the seating area behind (with the tables away from the road). But the phone box and mailbox is a very good idea, I'll have to consider that! All the sets I've re-done have ended up quite a bit bigger - that's how the LEGO City evolution has been - so 6394 would probably become a true monster. That said, I guess you could probably call this a modern interpretation of it - 6394 was certainly some of the inspiration behind it.

Thanks again, all, I really appreciate the feedback! The warm reception has had a crazy effect on my Flickr account as well, with more than 120,000 hits since I posted this here... Oh, it's modular, that was always the plan. It's a bit of a squeeze, but the tree will fit even with a regular house next to it. The alternative solution is to move the tree a bit further back onto another 16x32 plate, which is probably what I will do when I eventually put it into a modular layout - along with a few more trees. Check your inbox, by the way, you have a PM :)

This is a very nice addition - to an incredible project. Do you have any progress plans on it - when you'll finish it, or at least part of it, so you can display it somewhere? I'd love to see it :)

I've been wondering the same - and I suspect the answer is as simple as this: The board interprets any new vote in the poll as a new post. Which seems pretty unnecessary - I wonder if there's a way for the moderators to turn off that function?

Wow - thanks again, I thought maybe this build would strike a chord with some people here, as it seems to be a set that brings back memories - like it did with me - but this is overwhelming :) I'm very glad you like it! From time to time, I'm tempted. But that would shift the focus from it being just a hobby to being something more like a part-time job - and I'm not sure I want to go that way. But thanks anyway - I'll take that as a compliment. Oh, and about your broken sign: Get a new one off BrickLink. I did :) Be my guest and copy all you like - and ask if there's anything you're wondering about. If anybody gets inspired by this, I'm happy. It seems a lot of you, as I suspected, weren't familiar with my previous builds. There are many more in this Flickr folder, if you haven't been there already :) Somebody said this before, about something else I built, and I replied that Ideas/Cuusoo hasn't quite turned out like I hoped it would. I don't really think this would have much of a chance, either. But maybe, if I were to have a go at Ideas, this would be the right project. Who knows...? BrickLink - where else? They aren't that rare, and if you're prepared to cough up a little bit of money, you'll even find new ones. Like I did. I didn't - like I wrote in the original post, Marco ('Ecclesiastes) did. But I absolutely love it, too! If you go back to my original post, you'll find links to some pictures in Marco's Flickr stream of some lovely trees he did earlier.

I haven't read any of Neil Gaiman's books, but I don't think that's necessary in order to see what a fantastic build this is. Creating something with such an intricate shape - and that lovely, flowing hair - on such a relatively small scale, with LEGO bricks, is incredibly well done. I'm truly impressed.
