  1. The only thing that would make those figures better would be if Cap had his wings. Otherwise they're all quite excellent prints. Looks like Cap's tan isn't as bad in regular blue either. And regular blue just looks right on him.
  2. He also said the figures he saw were not final. It's entirely possible that they had a figure standing in for Rocket Raccoon that wasn't recognizable as him. I don't see how they could get away with not making him in minifigure form. Of the whole team, I'd say he's probably the most well-known simply because of the oddity that he's a raccoon.
  3. I'm not sure what the agreement with Lucasfilm would have been about the molds of a character or whether that sort of thing could be considered off-limits for reuse. It would be perfect with a new print and maybe in trans green.
  4. First off, try a price check scanner to see if it really does belong on clearance. Otherwise, that sort of thing probably varies from manager to manager. Never hurts to try.
  5. Never ever thought we'd get Martian Manhunter before Green Lantern. I'll happily take it, though.
  6. Thanks, WetWired, for sharing your experience so far. And especially thank you for making the set possible. I certainly hope so. I like the version from the first movie better, but it would be neat if they gave us the option for the second movie version as well.
  7. I hadn't thought about that but you're absolutely right. But TLG does have to try to get at least the same people that voted for it to buy it. If they answered honestly, then TLG is kind of right to try to keep them affordable. I think the Simpsons House will be a good test case for what non-AFOLs are willing to spend.
  8. The Bilbo packaging was a Target exclusive in the US, at least. Made it an easy choice of where to buy it for me. The odds of them putting a figure in with movie on Blu-ray is really good considering it's Lego's movie. I do agree that it would more likely be one of the movie's original characters. And frankly, Green Lantern deserves more than being a movie tie-in. He needs a set, preferably with Sinestro.
  9. I doubt they still have the capability to produce the 9V system without starting it from scratch again. By today's standards, I think putting in anything like that would raise the price tag by $15. Look at a set that has a modern light brick in it and those are much simpler to produce.
  10. I don't think TLG currently has a light brick in production that could work like it would need to. A sound brick would probably be possible but it would also make the price higher than it would otherwise. If it would be cheaper, I'm happy to provide my own sound effects. Weeee-ooooo, weeeeee-oooooo!
  11. Let's focus on the actual news of the set here. Please refrain from commenting on the presenter.
  12. The BTTF set was pretty good price-wise. I hope that trend continues.
  13. Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary has passed review! Discuss Here!
  14. YES! So excited!
  15. I'm not asking for you to feel sorry for them. I'm asking that you follow my advice. Let's not make this a thing. It's been a long day. I hadn't realized that other suits of Spiderman had appeared in the cartoon. I really don't see why Marvel/TLG couldn't have included at least Iron Spider in one set, then. TLG, at least, realizes that they have to use variants to sell Batman, why not Spiderman? I would be over-the-moon if we got any Green Lantern. I'm more than a little disappointed that we may have to wait another year.
  16. They were joking. I can't tell if you are joking as well, Rinzler. Please remember, people, that sarcasm doesn't translate well in printed form. It especially confuses members who either speak English as a second language or who skim the posts without reading their full content. So be responsible with sarcasm.
  17. Are those loincloths? I'm not sure how well loincloths ever work on minifigures. Or in real life, for that matter.
  18. That tail will be the reason I purchase that set. It's just too perfect. If I can find a torso that I like for her, I'l certainly try making it purist, otherwise I'll try making a decal myself. That reminds me that I have to start getting some supplies for that sort of thing so I can finish my wonder twins. Yes, the SDCC figs are nothing like the Olympic ones. Even though I don't live in Europe, I was able to get a few from a friend (Thanks, Foog!) and even now they don't command that high of a price on the secondary market. We'll just have to see if TLG comes to their senses this year. Cloney, that's exactly how it should be. Give out preview figures. They did the same thing with Bilbo only they made it a game for the kids.
  19. And while agree that we'd probably never see Squirrel Girl inside an actual set, I would rather have nothing than TLG making an awesome design (of a character I would love to have, btw) that would be forever out of my price range. I don't know if that sounds selfish, but that's how I feel. I do plan on making a custom Squirrel Girl if I ever get the time. I think the right parts exist now that a little decal work would pull it off.
  20. I actually hope that Lego drops the SDCC "exclusive" this year. It's brought them nothing but negative attention and alienates their fan base by releasing awesome minifigures that most of us will never be able to own.
  21. As much as I dislike Bay, this isn't the thread to complain about him. Let's keep the discussion on the sets.
  22. Luckily we don't have to choose between the two shows. But let's remain on topic. I think we're unlikely to see sets based on either but I do hope that both shows serve to increase the popularity of their characters enough that we may see Green Arrow or Coulson at some point in the future in regular sets. I certainly wouldn't mind having either of them in minifigure form.
  23. Deathleach, would you like to "take a break" as well? Stop, please. I'm handling this in private. The important thing for everyone to remember is that this is the internet. A countless number of unique indivduals are online at any given time. There will never be a time when everyone agrees about just about any subject. If you post something once and you haven't changed someone's opinion, move on.
  24. No more comments about this argument now. If you find someone is being offensive, please report it instead of replying to it. A lot of you did report it and that's why the situation is being handled. Thank you.
  25. I wasn't implying that Karai wasn't an official character, only that the media that I've encountered hasn't had her in it. I watched the old cartoon and the old movies. I watched the first few episodes of the new cartoon since the library had a copy of it, but she hadn't appeared yet. So really all I'm saying is that I'm unfamiliar with her but the minifigure looks interesting.
