  1. On my 8448 wheels the centre axle hole is rotated slightly relative to the 3 outer holes, so by forcing an axle through it becomes really stiff
  2. It's not the gearing. This gearbox would lock up even with no load on it and only in one direction. You are getting warm with the idler gears though. It's a combination of one particular idler gear and the shaft it runs on, which when in 1st gear spins at a different speed.
  3. Maybe they were showing a more finished version of 42056, which they might not be allowed to photograph or video.
  4. Any time man . if any of you was wondering, the issue Grosse Kind had was with a gearbox I posted online. It was the 5 speed+R in this picture: The issue was that I had designed it years ago (probably in 2000) to handle lots of torque for a motorised model as the one found in 8448 couldn't handle much torque. I never tried to use it in a non motorised push along model. When used in such a model there is a problem. The gearbox can sometimes lock up and jam, but only in first gear, only when turned in one direction and only when driven from the output as is the case with a push along model. Me and Grosse Kind figured it out after some head scratching, can you? Big thumbs up to the first to do it
  5. Yeah, the worm gear did the same thing as that screw. I didn't try different axles or different colours of axles (I think the different colours may actually be slightly different but didn't think to try it at the time). I just grabbed 12M black axles at random and they both seemed pretty consistent with each other.
  6. I once made the chassis for a 8880 sized blues mobile (dodge monaco). It used 12M axles as torsion bars for the front suspension. For the weight of just the chassis, engine and drive train it worked very well. Incredibly well in fact. But if I had completed the car the weight might have been too much I think. For prototyping purposes I held one end of the 12M axle fixed using a 24t gear mated to a worm gear which allowed me to adjust it while building. Worked great. Only about 5M of axle was free to twist.
  7. Isn't it available in other colours if you ask for it?
  8. That lava orange looks closer to Lego red than Lego orange.
  9. Those old videos are the best for explaining these kind of things.
  10. Wanted colour in order of preference: 1) dark blue/dark metallic blue 2) Silver/dark metallic grey (gun metal grey) 3) Black 4) White 5-97) ???? 98) Orange 99) Any shade of green (except dark metallic) 100) Camo
  11. i prefer stickers to printed parts also, as long as the stickers are of good quality, not like those ones that deteriorate over time like the 8448 stickers.
  12. Hey guys, was thinking of trying to integrate one of these cope pilot units (from 8479) into a MOC but I was wondering if anyone knew what motors can be run off it without risking damage like from the huge current from a buggy motor. Any ideas?
  13. Why is hard rubber disappointing? Less grip?
  14. This post may help: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105184&st=1475#entry2420868
  15. This is just beautiful! Any plans to motorise it? I know it's 24kgs but I'm sure it's possible. As for a steam engine, a pneumatic powered flying scotsman at a similar scale would be epic!
  16. It would be pretty crap to invest in a lot of Lego PF that won't work in 5 years time due to relying on outside tech (smart phones and so on) that changes and goes out of date. The current PF will always work because it doesn't rely on outside tech. But it's still quite antiquated.
  17. Wasn't aware that the guy at the stand said anything about the model. What else did he say?
  18. Thank you very much for the coverage Zusammengebaut, was you able to ask any questions about the Porsche?
