It certainly does seem odd to not have any kind of announcement or image of the bag etc if it's coming in less than two weeks with an advance sale date of the Batcave. I know the Helicarrier had the Winter Soldier as a giveaway in the UK but was then available as a more general promo fig later in the year for the US (and later again I recall for the UK once more) so who knows what the circulation plan for it is. It would make the most sense if it was the giveaway so I think that's what we all assumed. It's also very specific in that it's directly related to that set... Winter Soldier could be considered more of a general Marvel figure while still being tied to the HC but Mr Freeze is almost too directly related for it to be anything else.

True. There was a rumour of Ahsoka... and a rumour of an A-Wing... so people put two and two together. Then the A-Wing was included in the TIE Advance set and people expected to see Ahsoka but it was Sabine.

If you just want a plain torso then search for plain torso: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/searchproduct.page?q=plain%20torso#T=P If you want blank head then I normally search for a figure that I know has a plain head such as the Imperial Guard from SW. Then clock on the Inventory ('Item Consists Of' link along side the image of the figure) for that figure... from that you can click on the plain black head: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3626c&idColor=11#T=C&C=11 There have been several heads (recessed stud etc) so I went for a recent figure and that seems to bring up the most colour options. Same with legs... search for plain legs and click on recent figure such as the Ninja Turtle fig... then go to inventory and click on the legs: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=970c00&idColor=6#T=C&C=6 I hope this helps

I'm not sure about anything official i.e. from Lego... but it's too good a figure (print and design) for this not to be legit. It's not like the iffy Batman figures we saw. It's not a custom or a bootleg either as it's not been around for sale.

Maybe I was mistaken. After reading about the VIP advance I was chatting to a guy at the Liverpool Lego store and he seemed to think there would be an advance sale. I never normally mention conversations with store staff as a rumour or confirmation as most of them don't know much more than we do and invariably know less.

I agree that the A-Wing has come into prominence in Rebels but there's still a bit of a difference in the A-Wing as part of Rebels and the X-Wing as part of The Force Awakens (and the entire SW universe in general). Having one of the main hero characters in the ST pilot a personal Black X-Wing but also having him 'fly' a generic grey/blue X-Wing in a very iconic scene gave them the chance to put them both out and seeing as most of the other X-Wings were grey/blue that would be a seller (we also have two other new pilots for that ship thanks to the micro fighter). If Ahsoka in indeed the main draw to the set, as has been mentioned, then a smaller build such as an A-Wing would seem about right... but I just can't help but think it wold be something else. We've had speeder bikes for both Ezra and now Kanan so it's not beyond the realms of possibility but they were in two separate waves and were cheap £20 sets.

My only worry on Mr Freeze is that it'll be a giveaway with the Batcave but only once the regular sale date hits rather than the VIP advance sale date. It would annoy me having to wait the extra two weeks to buy it to be able to pick that up. Hopefully it's just a late announcement on the availability.

Do people still think we'll get another A-Wing when there's one with Vader's TIE? I can't see it myself.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
The last SY set was worth it for the Sam Wilson torso and the Batarang Bash Batman torso as well as the armour and helmet for Deathstroke. Yellow Jacket is excellent as is Harley Quinn and the Iron Man poly clone is also well done. Green Lantern Bats isn't as good as DLP's. If Doll can produce figures as good as their last SW wave then I have high hopes for them. Fingers crossed they're more productive once the new year is under way. -
There are a couple of pad printing options that spring to mind: http://citizenbrick.com/pages/custom http://www.nacm-customs.com/printing-services-request-quote/

The decal will still need cutting. Whether it's screen printed or not the decal will not be the shape and size of a minifig torso so once it's printed it will need cutting before it can be applied.
-
I'm not sure I get what you mean? Decals are printed on sheets that are normally 'A' sizes. If you then just wanted a torso you have to cut them out. In fact no matter what you want you'll be cutting the decal paper. The smaller the decals on the sheet the more cutting you'll do.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
That's who I use for capes. I don't know if posts in community count. Maybe just this thread though. -
Cutting might not be necessary but it can be fiddly with torsos although a very sharp craft knife or scalpel has always been OK for me. If you were getting things screened and had many up on a single sheet to make things more cost effective it can get tricky.

Here's the store: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/customizeaccessorizeyourminifig/ They don't list the service anymore but it's worth emailing them. I've not bought from them for a few years but the guy was really accommodating and did print some torsos for me a while back.

Hundreds.

At first glance, or at least to someone who may not know their stuff, couldn't a shadow trooper be mistaken for a black robot? It's possible that this list is entirely fictional but we'll see when the people we usually rely on start to corroborate or take apart this list.

I think he was meaning that the more parts there are out there then the better chance of that lowering the price... but of course that's down to competition. The more SELLERS that have those parts means the price may drop although actually having some things out in the open like this when they haven't just been parted out from an expensive set can also bring the price down. The tyres for the Tumbler is a good example of this. They were VERY expensive before they became available one B&P... then the price dropped considerably.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
I could probably set up a cutting form for you for capes and trench coats. The material used by custom makers is polycotton. Easton on eBay use two layers bonded together which make it stiff although this is a little stiffer than regular Lego. Christo's capes are a little thinner than Lego's so they maybe be single layers of polycotton. If you wanted a cutting form what format would be best? EPS? -
Spotlighting fake sets that have been going around.

It's a thing of beauty. -
I'd be happy to get sets from any movie or comic if it was a good build or had good figures and was at the right price.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
Received my Doll 12 figure SW set today. They're fantastic. Aside from the TIE pilot's helmet pipe not touching the torso like the official they're VERY well printed and the moulds are excellent. Ground Crew, Kylo and Hux are particular standouts and are almost indistinguishable from the real thing! -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

The problem you'll have with most material is it will fray when you cut it. Custom trench coats in eBay are laser cut which bonds the edges and stops them fraying... Same with capes.
