LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Robianco replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well this year seems very straightforward. Solo Imperial Battlepack, Solo TIE Tighter, Yoda's Hut, X-Wing and then BL and new figures from the Sandcrawler and Antoc Merrick from the Calendar. If the two UCS sets are OT then add those and this year is done. -
E-11s and DL-17s deployed. Dual moulded arms added.
-
The Quidditch set might be another one to sell then...

With a new Hogwarts as well as various other sets I'm wondering if now might be a good time to sell my existing Harry Potter sets. I've got all of the final two waves including Diagon Alley. Surely a £500 Hogwarts, a £90 Great Hall and a CMF wave will bring updated figures of almost every one of the old figures especially with the figure count in the Great Hall. I'm thinking 4842 and 4867 are easily going to be obsolete following these new sets.

[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017
Robianco replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I've had mine for a little while. I got my falcon on first day or release. You won't miss any offers as even your regular card will still qualify in store and if you order online it's automatic if you're logged in anyway. I've seen images on Flickr of people receiving cards even today. -
They've really gone after UG Minifigures and Brothers Figure there. Love Kate Kane.

I wouldn't over analyse a teaser trailer at this point. We don't know who is going to be prominent yet and whether they deserve a place in a set. We also don't know all the future sets for Solo if there are any planned. -
I'd think about how much you were going to buy and how long you thought you needed to keep hold of it before it was worth something. You can never tell if the value of an item is going to hold or by how much it will go up. As others have said here... If you owned a 10179 Falcon you could get quite a pretty penny for it... but after 5-10 years... and that was a big outlay then. Now people are probably going to try and grab the new Falcon... but it will be around for a while... so you could be paying a lot to keep for years... and then not make a great deal. The Death Star is a prime example of that. Modulars will probably go up in value as others have said... but we've seen Lego sell very similar sets even in the Winter Village line... so there's no guarantee of a set staying high even if it gets up there. If you want to give it a go then fine... but things that get lowered on sale may end up being those things that aren't selling all that well (hence them sitting on a shelf at then end of their cycle) so how much are you going to make? I'm always hesitant to join conversations based purely around buying Lego for profit... I genuinely don't care whether people make money or lose it... I'm only bothered by whether people are buying up stock of wanted items to create a demand bubble and scalping people. To those I hope they lose money and lots of it. If you have spare cash and you want to give it a go then feel free.

Yeah. I’d seen the figure before. people have been selling the dirty R2 figure for a coupe of weeks now, along with Han in Imperial Disguise, but this was the first time I’d seen someone selling the Luke figure. I think it’s pretty clear the Mexico factory is the source for a lot of the figure leaks recently. -

Dagobah Luke pictures are circulating now. Grabbed them from a Mexican FB Lego Group. They’re on my Flickr but I’m on my phone so can’t link to them directly. -
Yes/No... I thought about that actually but felt the slope piece was a bit much so just added the white hood. She’s now back with hairpiece in place next to Luke on the Death Star ready to swing across the chasm.

We’re here again. There are people on this forum that have either seen the sets for this year or will be seeing them soon, either at events and toy fairs or via direct retail partner meetings with Lego. If they are found out as leakers of info to a board then they’d be fired. I’m sure when people have their meetings there’s a lot to take in and they may not even have Star Wars as a main interest so details are difficult to remember, especially when you’ve got other licensed and non licensed sets to go through. It may be frustrating to some if everything isn’t shared as they’d like but I’d ask people be at least grateful that they get to hear about things before 99% of the population. There are people that become known for reliable information over a period of time, not just a detailed splurge of a full wave in just their first or second post.. thankfully we have some very reliable people here. You’d be surprised just how many ‘rumours’ or ‘confirmations’ other sites get that are just lifted from these pages. -
Yeah. The original legs and head are stored away and he's updated like this on mine. DL-17 Blasters are also a must for them.

Those FO Snowtrooper legs work great with the regular Snowies but I'm wondering whether the normal FO trooper legs would work better? The red legs with black boots are probably Mickey Mouse legs with the yellow print rubbed off. I can't tell whether the legs used are red with black or red with dark blue. If it's dark blue then they're from the CMF arctic explorer.

That moment when someone gives a breakdown of a Toy Fair stand and the only thing in my mind is ‘I hope that’s a new Rebel Pilot helmet that snowman is wearing’ Okay then... I’ll bite. Did the helmet look like any of these? https://goo.gl/images/MKnakh -

I’ve just mentioned this in the main 2018 thread but I thought I’d mention it here too. Lego store Liverpool just gave me double points on some figure parts and informed me it’s double VIP for black card holders through Feb. -

Just popped in to the Lego store in Liverpool and picked up some minifig parts. I handed over my black VIP card and was told it was double VIP points for the black card holders through Feb. Anybody else heard this? -

They’re just helmet markings. Same way Vader’s wingmen in the Death Star run had helmet markings... funnily enough those TIE Striker markings are almost identical to Vader’s wingman also known as Backstabber. -

Liverpool Lego store had 7 in stock on Saturday. -
The Ministry is a huge place but even if it was the fight with Dumbledore and Voldemort that would be great. Same reception area that we had Harry, Ron and Hermione escape from in the Deathly Hallows.

Cloud City is total guesswork. Y-Wing is rumour based on source. -

I’ve heard directly from a very reliable source that it’s coming. They were right about other things coming out too. They’re not very vocal and leaky about things and I’m certainly not a leaker but if they think it’s coming then it is as far as I’m concerned. If it isn’t then the release schedule has changed. I’ve also had one person on a Facebook group discussion who was as unshakeable about the next UCS release being a Y-Wing and confirmed what I’d heard without me even mentioning it. -

Definitely not a confirmation. He could have worked on anything. Seriously... even posts like that get picked up in by a blog who quote it as confirmation, that then gets picked up elsewhere and before we know it well known and supposedly well informed forums comment that a certain set is now confirmed, and right at the end they’ll state the source as an EB member. Before anybody else mentions that Cloud City is on the background of the Falcon box and the Falcon was on the DS box... the Snowspeeder was the next UCS set, not the Falcon, so it’s no indicator of what’s next. Cloud City might be coming. An SSD might be coming. But nobody knows yet... though I’ll bet they won’t be the next set in May anyway as that set actually has been indicated by several people. The designer video lip-read seems to be the only remotely solid indication that a Cloud City is coming at some point. Every other mention of it had been guesswork and wishlisting, same as the SD or SSD as it is a silhouette somewhere. These things get picked up on as ‘confirmation’. The term ‘rumour’ has always been contentious for me. For a rumour to have any grounds for serious discussion it should have a reliable source, but those waters have been muddies for years and people can start their own rumour with a wishlist and just wait for it to circulate through Reddit or various boards before it pops back up here as something with apparently more foundation than it deserves. Can we stop saying something is confirmed if it isn’t.
