  1. As someone with a shaved head and a beard I'll have you know I'm an absolute delight to be around! ;)
  2. Baddy McBadface and Stormy McStormface?
  3. I noticed that. There was a very short spell that I couldn't reply to a topic, then the site went down. But by the time I'd spoken to another member outside of the site and checked with a URL checker it was back up but missing a few of the replies that had happened shortly before it went down.
  4. You, my friend, are welcome! ;)
  5. The thing is, if all you want is the clearly defined news of what’s coming based on the clearest and most reliable sources then there’s another thread for that:
  6. I think threads like this will become relatively pointless if things like this continue. We never get official set lists Fromm largo until they’re about ready to release. Set lists on Brickset and videos from people such as the Brick Show take info from these very threads so nobody is more reliable than anyone else. Some people leak info because they know people at Lego or a retail partner that have information given to them by Lego. Other people collate information from retail site listings around the world to compile things... but there’s no actual information direct from a source who actually KNOWS involved. In around 6 months we’ll know if constraction figures are still around because they’ll either be in shelves or they won’t. Some people will be proved correct in the info they’ve shared and some people will be proved wrong. Like I said about other places... lots of noise at times. The mods are letting people get on with for the most part so let’s take what’s said and filter out the obvious fake stuff.
  7. It’s not about embedding them. The file size limitation is for use just to upload a profile pic. If you go to your image on Flickr and use the ‘share arrow’ you’ll get a link. Just paste that into a message window and It’ll automatically display the image without uploading it.
  8. I don’t read much of the Reddit and other social media forums for this type of reason. Lots of noise... That wasn’t where I heard it.
  9. I wasn't a fan of the constraction figures as I just didn't like the aesthetic. I didn't like how they looked when built. The best one of all of them was K2SO for me but I think that was because the whole build lent itself so well to a droid and the proportions seems to work really well. Whether this is a direct result of me preferring proportionality in things such as Hot Toys and Sideshow figures I'm not sure, but the more human figures, even troopers, weren't something I liked the look of. This is just a personal opinion so I certainly won't say the line was bad. I'm sure lots of other people enjoyed them and for those people it's a shame they might be ending. Let's see how Brickheadz go. There'll be lots of people who don't like those but ultimately it'll be down to sales figures whether any of them stay. If they sell well then they'll stick around. If they don't then they'll go.
  10. Interesting hearing from SVL regarding the constraction figures being cancelled. I'd heard that rumour too but the mention of them being cancelled seemed to be shut down quite quickly.
  11. This was the one I had. Battery powered. I had a few of the wind up Red faction ones too which were smaller and more lizard like. https://goo.gl/images/xCkp4A The Hot Toys stuff has got me making dioramas. Not content with building from plastic brick I'm now also building with laser cut acrylic!
  12. Hot Toys and Sideshow 1/6 scale figures for me. All Star Wars OT based. My toy buying decisions are now clearly defined between OT Lego and 1/6 figures. I am looking into converting some Hasbro stuff into large scale models such as the Snowspeeder. If that works out well then I’ll have to reconsider keeping my UCS Snowspeeder. Funny you should mention that. I was at my parents over the weekend and they were having a clearout and there was an 85% complete red Triceratops Zoid on the kitchen table after a clearout. I think I went with the baddies.
  13. There have been various sources from what I can tell. I know of at least three people on this thread who have stated information about sets. With regards to the book, it seems such as a general question about the teachers at Hogwarts that I wouldn't assume it meant he was coming with it but for him to appear in the book he would have to take a Lego form. The question is how much of the previous HP waves will be shown in this. Its release date will probably be before some of the sets come out (at least the D2C) so will they tease the $500 Hogwarts in it or go detailed as a preview? Considering there's a huge amount of previous HP to show it would seem really limiting to just go from these few sets and the recent Dimensions releases. If it does indicate that Lupin is coming then they'd surely have two figures for him. One as a werewolf and one as teacher? I quickly set up a purist custom of him as Wolf with the werewolf head, fawn legs and I think it was Lurtz's torso and it doesn't look too bad. I would hope for something like that rather than man in suit wearing dog's head fancy dress costume.
  14. This set has repeatedly been in stock in the Liverpool Lego store from the beginning of this year. It's also sold in the UK at other sellers such as John lewis, although it's now sold out there at least online (I've not checked a physical store to see if it's in there). They're obviously able to distribute them to stores but maybe their plan is to get them out to stores to stop scalpers just buying up any online stock. At least that was someone has to walk into a store to buy it. Doesn't help those that need to shop online due to not being close to a bricks and mortar store but they're definitely still circulating them.
  15. I think when this thread was started I'm not sure just how firm the rumours were. People were guessing based on a few things but then it started to grow and people in the know started to firm things up. I think wishlisting was fine when a future HP line was undefined but now we've got as far as we have wishlisting will clutter the thread and seeing as some of the 'confirmation' rumours turned out to be wrong it could get very messy. I think a separate thread for 'Future Wizarding World Sets' would be better to help keep this thread down to more concrete news of what we're getting.
  16. ...and that's why Lego have stropped licensed sets going onto Ideas. They can have something in planning for years but if someone submit something they'll get stuff like this happen. I know the GBHQ happened but I got bored of Ghostbusters sets being submitted after Ecto-1 was released. Same as the plethora of BTTF sets after the Delorean. So then... which designer is suing them over the Falcon pray tell? I require proof of this.
  17. There’s always been fake leaks along with iffy moc images as sets. Unfortunately.
  18. A member. A trusted member. A member who sometimes knows things.
  19. I think the issue with off brands are those that clone Lego sets. I've seen people review things such as Megabloks Star Trek sets so there's no reason you can't post something that contains non-Lego parts as long as it's not seen to be promoting something that is infringing Lego's IP (such as copies of existing Lego sets).
  20. Worry not. I’m really looking forward to that figure too. There’s only a couple of sets I picking up this year but I’m genuinely excited to get that figure.
  21. It gets very silly. There's so many repeats of hero helmets... and with lots of RO pilots having moustaches a Surrel and Biggs figure would look identical as they both had orange jumpsuits. I've seen images of Surrel holding Janson's helmet. The image on Wookiepedia shows Biggs helmet but it's actually cropped where the pilot in front of him (Wion Dillems) is holding it. Even so Dillems also has a 'tache! Seeing as this was based out of Yavin around two or three days before the Battle of Yavin I'd assume Biggs was there and he's have that helmet too. That's when it all starts getting very silly with them being 'hero' helmets as one offs... yet they now have multiples in the same base at the same time wearing them. I actually already have an X-Wing pilot with Janson's helmet so maybe if I change the head to a moustache head that'll do for that as a variation. This is all getting far from set discussion though. With regards to what's actually coming There's a Dutch Vander and an Antoc Merrick that are definitely on the way. The initial box art for the X-Wing indicated that it's a Biggs minifigure and I think there's been some astromech link to it probably being him. I've not heard about any second figure with the Y-Wing and I don't know who is in the X-Wing but one would normally assume it would be Luke from a toy selling perspective.
  22. It certainly looks like it. Both my Snowspeeder and X-Wing Wedge figures now have the dark green version from the UCS Hoth set so my old grey one is on Santage. I need a moustache pilot head though for him. Maybe pick up a spare Merrick for him. Actually DIdn't someone on the updated figure thread edit an Aragorn head for Santage?
  23. John Brannon's helmet is in the Sandspeeder set, Dex Tiree's helmet is pretty much the grey rebel helmet with the red emblems from the Snowspeeder Microfighter, even down to the shadows under the emblems, it just doesn't have the three German colour stripes at the very top of the helmet (and the fact the helmet is grey rather than white but you could just argue that they're all dirty anyway so it doesn't matter). Dutch's helmet does look pretty identical to Hobbie's, Grizz's etc. Red Leader is the glaring omission along with Krail. Red Leader's helmet was actually used on a Snowspeeder pilot in ESB too but we only got to see him in the briefing. We're basically missing these two helmets: Although some level of detail on the more recent helmets especially on the side areas are missing form the older helmets. Blue Squadron is a real mix of older helmets and we've already got quite a few. Nice to get Merrick's later in the year too.
  24. I think people are getting hung up on why minifigs are included in UCS display sets and what they mean. For sets that aren’t minifig scale (i.e. accurately scaled up in relation to the size of the minifigure) they’re just there as little extras for display purposes... Batman and Joker with the Tumbler, Senesca and Scotian with the Snowspeeder, The five figure display stand with the Hellicarrier... Lego know we love figures so add something to the package. Star Wars UCS sets haven’t always been plentiful with these things... Red Five had a standard R2, B-Wing didn’t have anything, TIE just had printed arms etc. I personally think it would be a shame if we just got Dutch when it would have been a great opportunity to give us Gold Five but I can see the display stand just having Dutch in one end and his astromech on the other. It’s the same as the X-Wing later in the year... Dreis would have been great but it seems like we’re getting Biggs to go with the inevitable Luke.
