  1. I think it's easily accurate enough and the spindly, thin nature of the 'legs' or 'arms' are what would make a Lego model fragile. I remember playing with a friend of mine in my garden when I was a kid and it had snowed... he brought over all his Kenner SW Hoth stuff and I had mine out and one of the things he had was the Hoth plates with the Probe Droid that fell apart when you pressed a button on the base (I think that shows hold old I am also)... since then I've always had a soft spot for the design of it. The solid black look always had that cold and relentless feel to it... that it would simply track down it's target and relay back to the Empire in the simplest and most efficient way. I'm actually really tempted to part this out and build it as it's a really nice size for a desk display... detailed enough while still being manageably small.
  2. I wondered why there were suddenly a lot of Ghostbusters figure elements on BrickLink. Looking at BL now... if you try to part out the figures from the recent sets the only parts that you can buy are those that are available from Bricks and Pieces so people have obviously done the same thing and have them up on their BL stores.
  3. Well if it doesn't make it past review then there's a future in selling the instructions for this if you wanted to go that way. I'm sure there are many people who'd take you up on that myself included. I've said several times on other threads that themed submissions to Ideas aren't normally my favourite thing unless there's something in the build that really makes it stand out... both the build and the actual content of this submission is fantastic. So with that I hope you all the luck in the world in achieving 10k and making it past review stage!
  4. This set is now pretty much perfect. The only thing getting in your way is the usual licensed theme sets and the scale of it but I'll definitely support this and it's a set that I'd definitely buy!
  5. This set looks really nice... and the fact you've included the build instructions on your Ideas posting is very generous. I've always liked the Imperial Probe Droid and the size of this is perfect for an Ideas model.
  6. I actually managed to pick up a bunch or torsos for not very much recently as right there along with all the regular city police torsos was Galen Marek's. I've always liked the look of the Rogue Shadow and now I have Starkiller and Juno then I can look for a nice ship only set somewhere.
  7. If they're going to include any Imperials then it actually makes sense for them to be the Emperor's Royal Guards... the fact that they were in a BP last year makes the BP look an odd decision rather than their inclusion in this... The Death Star Gunner could have had any number of imperials with them to make more sense. I'd have to see if set out with better definition shots or even in person to make a proper evaluation. I really want to like this set and this (and the Tydirium) but for something that is only offering an updated Vader from things I already have then I'm not sure. The Tydirium set has always been the one that has stood out for me from the descriptions and the updated minifigs in that set are welcome. I think we'll have all incarnations of Han updated now (except maybe a Stormtrooper variant but that's not hard to make), nice to get the new updated Chewie in an OT set and I'll be interested in the camo work on the other figures.
  8. Will do! Don't worry... I'll make sure EB is kept clear of any divorce matters! How many 10179s have you built now?
  9. It's the New 52 that's made me appreciate Robin (well... all of them really). I've now got all of the Nightwing comics in CBR and CBZ files including all pre-52 stuff. After reading Batman 38 I'm now really interested to see where Snyder is taking the Joker and Batman relationship and how that's going to work from now on.
  10. I've just taken a look at that... When I first came out of my dark ages I tried something similar to pick up Boba Fett (I didn't know much about the site etc so tried it through the missing pieces section although I was perfectly happy to pay for them), subsequently the order was cancelled for containing licensed parts via a very nice and friendly email from Lego. The Bricks and Pieces part of the site seems a little different. Not every part for each set is listed... although, as you say, there are certain things that are listed as sold out such as the bigfig elements along with the new Batman torso and head etc, Wonder Woman's torso and legs along with Captain Cold's torso. Having them listed with a price attached does seem odd for something that should seemingly not be available for sale. Needless to say I've now also tried my luck!
  11. I think you may find that the order gets cancelled once they manually check the order inventory for the reasons you mentioned. I hope for you it gets through so keep your fingers crossed!
  12. Damnit!!! Reading that last post has really made me want to put one of these beasts together. I think I'd like to make one with the engine mod to the rear as I think that actually looks better than the original 10179. I'm almost tempted to message you for help in breaking down the set and how best to order! I see a divorce looming.
  13. Yeah... it looks like we'll be waiting a little while for the SY Iron Man sets as they haven't shipped yet but I'll be putting an order in in the next week or so.
  14. Because in the SW universe they all exist. TIE Advanced is what Darth Vader flew. TIE Fighter is the standard ship... TIE Interceptor and TIE Bomber also exist as part of the Imperial Fleet as so many other variants. It's not just down to a change in the wing shape either... those mentioned above have different roles to play so have entirely different shapes. If there was a range of Formula One cars from Lego and someone was into that theme it would be like asking someone why they bought more than one... Why get the McLaren or Red Bull when you've got a Ferrari?
  15. Depending on the quality of the print on the Iron Venom figure that make make a decent base for an Agent Venom custom. I'm also interested if that Cyclops has a new helmet mould to incorporate a single long eye slit rather than just printing over the regular eyes... if so that'll be quite a nice piece.
  16. I think it's just one seller saying he can't get one particular wave... I saw lots of the Cap A sets while looking through AE a couple of days ago.
  17. The thing is they're just pretty poor CGI versions of the figures and the print will be even worse. The Deathstroke is a copy of the Christo version from Arrow and the Kick A*s has been made by NACM.
  18. Rocket Raccoon was never an SDCC exclusive figure... Same way the Batman and Robin figs in the SDCC set weren't exclusive and even the Bard figure wasn't exclusive. Don't expect the Collector in any set/book/DVD anytime soon. Same with the ZEA Batman for that matter. Those figures were marked as exclusive on the packaging and as such won't be distributed in a retail set.
  19. I think anybody who has said they've sent the Iron Man set isn't telling the truth. I don't believe anybody has received them yet and as such they can't have been sent out. Normally Digger picks them up before we receive them as his supplier in HK gets them straight from the wholesaler and as yet it's the one set he's not reviewed or even included in photos he's taken from the stores recently. At least MFR admitted he hadn't received them and that was the reason for the delay in sending.
  20. I'll wait for the Phoenix Customs Electro and just pick up another SY set for a new DD head. The more I look at that Decool set the less I think it's worth even 90p per figure.
  21. I must admit... from the images I've seen of the actual figures in the Decool wave I think their print quality is going backwards. These look nowhere near the quality of the Storm / Magneto / Tumbler Batman wave or some of the Iron Man figures from 6 months ago. The artwork and printing look a little sloppy on these.
  22. Hopefully we'll get the roller skate pieces for Harley to really set the figure off based on the cover of Harley Quinn #1.
  23. Out of interest... that's how I'd like her to have appeared. No blue lines, starlet face in light flesh and the starlet hair in red.
  24. Pippi Langstrumpf! A rare occurrence of the Germanic version sounding prettier!
  25. Ha! She kind of looks like Black Widow's mum! There was me getting all antsy about the starlet hair and Lego didn't introduce it until around 8 months later! The Christo figure has a prettier face design so hopefully it'll work. Thanks for the heads up in the upcoming Friends appearance. It's still a relatively expensive hairpiece to pick up on BL. For some reason I really want to brasso the blue lines off that new torso!
