Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
The SY version is actually a perfect copy of the Dr Strange that appears in the Marvel Lego game. They've just got the proportions on the head slightly off. I'm really looking forward to this one arriving... I'll be switching the head out straight away and maybe modding the Nizam with a thicker moustache... probably also changing the head out for a proper Lego version and adding the grey stripes myself. That Pop version is wrong on many levels. -

I would assume so... they normally honour those kinds of things. -

Ha!... yeah... I think tolerable might be the most diplomatic way of putting it! If the Decool figure really is a new 52 variant I'll still be Bricklinking the hair as well as everything other than the torso. -

That Sheng Bao military set looks VERY nice. I think I'd have to replace the heads though as they just can't seem to get the proportions right. Looks like Decool have their distribution running properly... how long did we wait for DLP to finally hit?! I think I'll have to wait to see if that's a moulded wing piece first... other than that there's no reason to pick that set up.... or did someone way that the Supes was a new 52 variant? I haven't see a single bootleg with decent Supes hair regardless of who made it... the side ear arches are just abysmal on all of them. -

The US price doesn't show the sales tax for any particular state though... Which then puts it around the $299 Aus range... They're actually quite close in price. With the current exchange rate the UK price works out at $345 Aus for a UCS Tie. Still think you're being hard done by? The shipping threshold on the other hand does seem extortionate. I seem to remember mention of bricks and mortar Lego stores opening somewhere... Maybe once that happens access to promotions won't seem such an ominous and expensive task. -

Digger has reviewed a recent Decool military set and the print on it looks digital rather than pad printed. They've got 360° printed heads as well as printed arms and full leg printing but the ink definitely looked raised rather than the flat effect you expect from pad printing. Maybe this is a new approach from them? -

That's great... Cheap enough as it is so I'll put an order in for one! Cheers. -

Can you post a BL link to that torso? I'd like to replace the HP tracksuit torso I'm currently using! Cheers! -

At least those that have the SY Batzarro will now have a double sided head for it along with an alternative cape. -

I just jumped on a couple of those Electro poly bags on eBay. Worked out at a touch over £9 each or so including shipping... That put it in the 'just buy it' price scale. Feel sorry for those paying £75 not long ago for them! -

I'm glad the poster was EPIV... It seems apt to have that as the first poster although a trip to the Lego store once a month at least for the next 5 months is also in order. I must admit seeing the UCS TIE in the flesh did help it in that it looks much better that way rather than just pictures but it still wasn't enough to tempt me to buying it. At least not yet. For anyone that likes the helmet variant of the pilot included in the UCS it's available on Bricks and Pieces for around £1.18. The torso is the same as the one in the Microfighter TIE Interceptor just without the printed arms. -
Well that should go without saying... but I know what you mean!

Thankfully my DLP figure doesn't have any printing issues... they nailed it on the one I have. -
I think those considering picking up the DS in the hopes they'll be selling it off for two or three times the price in a couple of years need to consider that this has been on sale for 7 years and almost every minifigure included has been updated. Anyone that wanted one has got one and there is no exclusive figures to leverage a high mark up against.

That's the one. Most of their feedback mentions the fast shipping. Those wings on hawkman look like they could be moulded rather than the printed plastic on the official version. While the wave is a little obvious it's nice to have them back on the scene a couple of months before SDCC so we're know Decool, SY and DLP can bring us any exclusives. -

My DLP set arrived yesterday by International Signed delivery... Very quick. Ordered on the 24th April... delivered on 30th April... you really can't argue with that can you?! They look excellent. I'm very happy with the quality. They also flattened all the boxes and included all the cards with them but there was no leaflet for future releases or anything. Anyway... my daughter showed an interest so I've given them all to her except for Ultron and some of the accessories (I've got the SY set coming and I'll keep the Hulk from there for the moveable head). On a side note... I think on Digger's review some of the accessories used black plastic such as Cap's shield but mine was moulded on silver plastic which I much prefer although there's a slight scuff on the edge paint mark... I think I might make this worse as a battle damaged shield. Nick Fury's Uzi is also made from silver plastic, and of course Thor's hammer. -
I love SW UCS sets but that is by far the ugliest one I can remember... the B-Wing was beautiful in comparison to that. It's a shame but the old system scale was pretty much perfect and the Advanced Prototype is another great TIE Fighter... but I just can't feel the love for that one.

For non-licensed themes such as the Lego Movie the standard skin tone is yellow with reddish brown also as a skin tone. The halloween characters in the CMF have green, white and a variety of other colours for skin tones and they're non-licensed. If it's a regular, human, non-afro carribean character then it'll pretty much always be a yellow head. Spooky girl is an exception to this as she's got a white head but is human... just a bit of a goth. The Simpsons is a cartoon that has characters appear in yellow so they were never going to appear any other way regardless of being licensed or not.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

Yeah... I knew i'd seen something about that poly before but I couldn't place it. I did kind of point out that the Spidey poly can't be counted as an exclusive figure promo but they couldn't offer any alternative to what it might be. They did have their Yularen SW figs and the posters ready for the May giveaway though. Hopefully we'll get some clarification in the next couple of weeks as to what the UK giveaway will be. -

I popped into the Liverpool Lego Store this evening and had a chat with some staff... They were aware of the SW promo for May and what they'd be offering but apparently didn't have full confirmation of the SH promo in June except for saying they were aware of a Spiderman poly with Super Jumper that they thought may be the promo. I certainly hope that's not our June figure promo... That would be pretty poor compared to the WS in the U.S. -

I reckon you'll be able to get those from AE. I do think that the Dargo set will be horrible... but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
