Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
They do have their similarities... I'd say the moulding of the figures, the fact they have single sided heads and their print quality for a new brand is more of a link. I'm not sure how things work there but I'm thinking they're either an offshoot or a company that have taken over the old presses of SY. -
The more I think about it the more I can see Kanan being the one to be sacrificed allowing Ahsoka to pick up Ezra's training. I think that would have more effect on Ezra than just seeing Ahsoka killed. I think Ahsoka being killed might have more of an effect on Kanan as he's finally found another Jedi to have regular contact with. I'm assuming that over the next season or so it will bring the timeline ever closer to Rogue One. Can we assume Rogue One might be around a year before ANH? Is Season Two starting at around 4 years before ANH? We saw at the end of EPIII that the Death Star was under construction so Rogue One could be timed anywhere from around 2BBY - 1BBY. Either way things will get close in regards to crossing over the timelines.

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
Robianco replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well they managed to change Rhodey out pretty easily and he wasn't in full prosthetics so I could see them replacing Weaving if they wanted to bring back RS. -
This really is a great MOC/diorama. Probably the best way I've seen of being able to display all of the Avengers and a raft of Ultrons. There's some real movement in there and yet everyone has their own space and it doesn't feel too crowded!

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Robianco replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
So are the Antman and Spiderman sets due on June 1st for the promotion? I'm in the UK so I'm not sure if it'll run here but I picked up WS with a Hellicarrier anyway... I'm still kind of hoping that we get Electro somehow although that may just be limited to TRU. We always get the promo figure so if we're not getting WS then I'm lost for who it might be. Sorry if it's an obvious question but I just wondered if the whole summer wave including the DC sets are due on 1st? -
[MOC] Anakin's Jedi Interceptor with Hyperspace Ring
Robianco replied to Swan Dutchman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As much as the PT doesn't appeal to me... this build really does. I'd only be repeating what everyone else has said but the snot work on this is aesthetically lovely... regardless of any stability issues. The ring is actually the real gem in here for me... you've got everything really nicely proportioned. Beautifully done. -
Looks really nice. I still haven't built my 75059 yet but I'm hoping I can work some space into the interior seeing as we have all these nice droids to to in it.

Same here... I think it looks great but a little extra on the wing guns would make it better proportioned. With the colouring you've achieved I also want to see a stick on the nose with the yellow and dark grey colour splash (but that's just me!)
-
Ha! They look great. I wasn't expecting the minionisation of them when i clicked on it but I think they look a lot of fun and the texturing is achieved really well!

I'm with Fleshy. I really like the purity of the plain yellow head in the modulars and I don't think Lego should move away from yellow in all it's regular minifigures but as someone who predominantly buys licensed sets then I'm going with flesh all the way.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Wasn't the Spiderman set the one with the nice looking web spurts? I think it was a few pages back but I'm not sure if it was DLP. This is the one! With the worst Carnage known to man. With what we've seen of DLP so far, and quietly hoping that they're actually an off shoot of SY or at least have their old moulds and print facilities, my fingers are crossed that the CGI on this will change or it's a massive step backwards! I'm also hoping that the SDCC Spidey gets some of the texture detail added from this... that would be great. All the others look like direct copies of Christo's Spiderman range. -
If this is still being updated I'm in Liverpool in the UK

This!... very simply put. A kid's cartoon isn't going to kill off a whole team of heroes. Also... let's face it... I don't think we can reason why Leia, in a film released in 1977, didn't know about any possible Jedi members of a rebel cell from a cartoon released in 2015. I'm sure I and any number of people on this thread could write a suitable story arc as to where Ahsoka, Kanan or Ezra could be at the time.
-
Maybe back in 1983 when it was released but I think we can safely assume that the amount of Jedi, or at least Force sensitives, alive at any time can dramatically increase as needed. Not forgetting that Kanan and Ahsoka didn't complete their training so technically aren't full Jedi so to speak. There's a case to say that Ventress may still be around at the time of ANH... It's all possible. These are good characters and the writers will weave them in as and when they see fit.

Which set is the one you enjoyed building the most?
Robianco replied to BlackVagrant's topic in Community
Giving this a little thought after my earlier response I'd probably say the set I've enjoyed building the most was a pirate ship that my parent's neighbour owned. He was around 6 or so at the time and his cousins came down and trashed it... so he brought it round while I was visiting and I rebuilt it mostly from finding reference pictures on the internet... it's probably that build that got me out of the dark ages and back into Lego. -

That's a very quick delivery time! I've had all but one of my orders sent over the weekend and considering there was several days of processing time left I'm taking that as a good sign. Fingers crossed they were as quick as my last order... they should be here in just over a week or so. -
Just keep your fingers crossed... that's all I'm doing. Besides... it looks like we'll be able to BL the parts for it anyway. Rather this than another exclusive figure!
-
I can see them killing off a main character such as Ahsoka or Kanan in a similar way to Ben sacrificing himself for Luke but I don't think they'll all die... I don't think they need to be front and centre at Yavin in ANH to be considered alive at that time.

That hair is perfect for it... Although most of the Avengers are easy to get anyway! -

Hair moulds do seem to be a bit of a problem for the bootleggers... Just look at Superman's hair!! Hawkeye's hair is just the sleepyhead hair so you can always switch it out. -

In what sense? The UCS X-Wing only comes with an R2 figure if that's what you mean? -
Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
Am I missing something? The design and print on those figures looks pretty good. Black Widow's eyebrows are the wrong colour but match her hair and the rest of the print looks perfect. Hawkeye's goggles look a little squashed but his torso and leg print looks perfect too. Besides from the wrong face print on Iron Man that also looks like a very good quality copy. Cap looks perfect as does Thor... Except maybe for slightly yellowy hair. Ultron looks like it has excellent print and the helmet is well made and printed... It's also a nice alternative to the official versions and the DLP one... At least they've made it completely unique rather than copy the Lego design with a new helmet. I only ever pick these things up for the items that are different to Lego and the Ultron and hammer are quite nice... I want to mod the Black Widow by removing the electricity lines in her print if I can and this gives me a cheap way of doing that. I also think the Nick Fury Helicarrier is the main reason people will pick this up and I bet that's excellent also. -

I actually did it last on the new Chewbacca keychain... it came out fine. I'm glad they're now putting him in an OT set though. -

It's quite easy to remove the keychain. I simply pull the pin with a multi tool and it slides out once you give it enough pressure or you can also rest a soldering iron on the pin for a short while which will loosen the plastic enough to Pull it out without as much strength... If you try this way just make sure you don't melt the plastic too much.
