Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
Robianco replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
For me, the only thing worth getting in this set is the Black Flash on the right hand side (although the head should be grey as it's cloned from Christo's version) and the helmets for customs. The legs on the regular Flash are a slight improvement on the version released a year ago but still no side leg printing. Besides that I think the designs are really bad. Poorly executed copies of figure that weren't particularly well designed in the first place. White Lantern Flash is a waste of space... It makes paying £50 for the Christo version look reasonable. -

There's a link to a seller in my last post with clear images of the Flash wave. You'll wish you never saw them. -

There's a seller on AE who has a few of the new sets available including the second Decool wave with Black Widow etc here They also have some interesting Iron Man constraction figures from a company called Xsz who have done a General Grievous that was also reviewed on here. I'm not a fan of Constraction but here they are anyway: There's also another seller with the new DLP Spidey wave here SY look like they've dropped the ball with the Flash wave. Somer bigger images here here. They look mostly terrible to me. How they couldn't just change the reverse Flash artwork from the original figure they had I don't know but it looks like it's copied from SGP, Penzora or similar. -
Is Bricklinking a set always this hard?
Robianco replied to ResIpsaLoquitur's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've always found it very straightforward to BL parts for sets. Once your wanted list is set up and you can view by shops with unique items you can see very quickly how few ores s you'll need to make. I also do the same as Pep and add things such as minifigure parts to top up to minimum order value if it's worthwhile. -

That Bozhi set is abysmal. I don't understand why Wolverine is so bad when the figure in the Chopper set was so good?! -

AliExpress for me. I used to use eBay but sellers were inconsistent and prices started going up. AE is normally quicker and certainly cheaper most of the time. -

You probably won't be able to unless a small independent store or stall owner orders from China and decides to sell them. -

I forgot about those... The right hand six are all clones of Christo figures except for the SDCC copy. The only unique fig there is the top left which looks atrocious to me... -

Both Lele and SY have done Spiderman waves and some of the Lele were excellent, quite surprisingly. Decool have also done the SDCC and FF Spidey figs while Dargo released a unique Spidey variant. SY had SDCC, Spiderman 2099, Future Foundation, Christo's Venom, Carnage, Negative Zone, Amazing Spiderman and Peter Parker... They also released the regular Spidey. Lele had Scarlet Spider (worth getting), SDCC (poorly done), Venom, Negative Zone, Christo's Amazing Spiderman, Future Foundation, copy of early Lego Spidey and a copy of the regular Spidey. Dargo released Superior Spiderman. Decool have done Future Foundation, regular Spidey and SDCC Spidey... Maybe Venom also. I don't count the transparent figures or the Iron Man suit variants. -

That sets looks interesting actually. Cap looks like the new version but with helmet printing. Thor has leg printing. Batman looks like he has a yellow bat symbol rather than yellow oval with black symbol. Iron Man looks new with a shoulder canon... They all look like slight variations... -

I've had confirmation that all of my orders have been sent including the SY Flash set so looking forward to those arriving! -
No, mate... the other end! ;)

Where to start on something like this?! It's one thing for someone to make a MOC of an AT-AT... and one that's close to minifig scale... but to have that AT-AT almost outdone by the beauty of the sandlines is incredible. That base in EPVII looks great and if Lego decide to make something similar then they're going to have to go above and beyond to be able to compare it to this. This is just fantastic work!

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

I think Decool's quality on their printing has been getting worse anyway. The last lot with The Collector was particularly poor. The only thing I look for from them is bigfigs and the odd double sided head or hairpiece. -

Decool very rarely deviates from the path with their figure choices though. I can't think of many figures they've done that haven't been a direct copy of either an original figure or a previously designed custom. They've copied Mnap's Wolverine and Christo's Catwoman, Joker and Punisher. EclipseGrafx's Winter Soldier and Cyclops, Custom Bricks's Fantastic Four. My point being that even if Decool were to use the body shape again they'd probably only be giving a copy of an existing figure with a different body shape. Mnap73 was the guy whose renders they stole and looking through his Flickr account he hasn't rendered new 52 Supes so it's from somewhere else. He HAS recently done a great render of Guy Gardner so whether the bootleg companies scout his Flickr profile for ideas we may well see it sometime soon. I'd much rather he pad printed one and sold it as I'd rather give him the money for it. -

Well if you don't want the official Lego figures... Can't find the SY set or the DLP set and don't want to wait for the Decool set then I suppose the Lele set are of some use! ;) -

That's quite bad on their part! The wings on Hawkman aren't moulded either. At least my daughter will like the shaped torso for Supergirl... Is it Arealight that do those sculpted torsos? -
The head on Aquaman looks like the same one we already have but that grin on Supes is new. Not sure it's worth £15 to buy just a new head though...

Same here... although I quite like the fact I now have an accurately printed Nick Fury from the Helicarrier! I quite like the shield from Cap too, in that it's silver on there reverse. Most of the times I'm picking up these sets for one or two items... but then again custom items can be expensive so paying £4 or £5 for a set just for one figure and a couple of accessories is pretty much normal. I have to factor that against something like the upcoming Flash wave where we're getting a lot for our money. -

I might be asking you to pick one up for me and send it to the UK then! -
I wouldn't trust half of the things on there!

Well it's a way to get Bane if you don't want to go via BL or eBay...

Hi all, As much as I hate the writers over at yahoo there was an article posted today about things you can do with Lego: https://uk.lifestyle...-135025793.html Yes it's written by a five year old and just seems to collated from various sources but I actually quite like the key holder made from Duplo bricks!

Mine was pearl rather than chrome. I've got that MK1 also... A fantastic figure and the opening helmet is a great mould! -
I actually use a clear acrylic spray that I got a few years ago to work with waterslide decals... it gives a nice smooth clear finish that you almost can't detect. It seals perfectly. I'll try and post a link to the brand or at least name it if it would help anyone.
