It was only a matter of time before the American television network (NBC) bastardized coverage of this fine sport to deal with Americans short attention span. The network is cutting back and forth between all eight games that are currently underway. They're showing highlights as they occur and brief spurts of action from each game. I have to go to their app to get full time complete coverage of any one game.

From what I can tell, every new Jan 1 release now has that status. Which tells me it's not accurate. Not everything could have sold out that fast.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Off the wall replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
It has to do with the protective covering on the part, how to remove it and why it was necessary to put a protective covering on the mirror element (so other pieces wouldn't scratch it while it's in transit). -
My wife got one at the store and they appeared to have additional inventory as they were restocking the shelf when she was leaving.

No, I was able to place two in the 'cart' even though it said out of stock will ship in thirty days. The website never said it was available now. I did get an order confirmation. -

My wife just called. She got one at the store and they were already restocking the display shelf. -

I never saw it as 'in stock' on the U.S. website even though I was at my OCD best. To me it went from available Jan 1.......to available soon.....to out of stock will ship in 30 days. -

My guess would be that Lego.com wasn't administered correctly (I may be using the wrong term). All of these new sets should give Lego sales a nice Christmas bounce. I wouldn't want to be the one who has to answer for this mornings website performance. -

Will do. Called her on her cell phone. She walked by the Lego store. She has her priorities. My Lego list is LAST on her list. -
When I received my email confirmation for the DO, it had a special link for additional instructions concerning the mirror element.

I pretty much have given up. My wife is heading over to the mall and is going to take my Lego shopping list with her. The lego store opens in less than half an hour. Now, they all show out of stock will ship in 30 days. I ordered over $400 worth of stuff anyway. My order number starts with an 'x'. I have a bad feeling about this......... The DO, birds and Lincoln memorial all show out of stock will ship in 30 days. It let me place an order for all of them. But, we'll see what happens...... Just got the email order confirmation. Interestingly, in the email, there's a link to special instructions concerning the mirror element in the DO. -

Yep. Thanks for pointing this out. I was also going to comment on it, but you've done a great job of documenting it. Due to a bad cold and a restless dog, I've been up since 4am. The Lego.com website has been a train wreck. -
After I got to the end of Super Mario brothers II in 1989, I stopped playing video games. So, have I missed anything?
-
Yes. An English Springer Spaniel. Brown and white. I used to have another one, black and white, who watched with great interest as I played with Lego. He would try to pull me away from the table if I spent too much time with Lego. The nudge of his nose against my arm. Unfortunately, dogs are usually gone much too soon. Lost him to cancer at age 13 last year. The remaining spaniel is 12. As long as her tummy is full and she has a comfortable place to sleep, she couldn't care less how much time I spend on Lego or anything else.

List your favourite modulars in order of preference, and explain why?
Off the wall replied to glendo's topic in LEGO Town
It isn't 'necessary'. It's simply fun and interesting. After all, in the big scheme of things, not much on a website like this is 'necessary'. And, it's not opinion vs opinion. It's simply a forum where people can say what they like and don't like. It may encourage thought and let's afols with a similar interest (modulars) say what they value in a modular and why. I may not like something about a modular (not an infrequent occurrence) and someone will point out what might be the designers idea behind the design. Sounds like Santa stuffed coal in your stocking. -
The first arch set came out after the CC, so much for branding CC architecture. Arch is significant buildings and landmarks. In the real, world. Apples and oranges. And, no,modulars are not supposed to be glorified city sets.
-
'Grand and complex buildings'......that's what I want. I don't want a painters brush, a cup and saucer and a camera for a minifig to hold. I want a building. To even bring up the architecture series is ridiculous. Arch series is mostly a set of small, non detailed buildings that can be built in an hour or less.
-
Well said. We keep hoping for more detailed arch series sets. The first two scheduled for 2015 certainly don't give us much hope for anything except small buildings with very little detail.
-
The architectural line is a joke.

Prague Airport (Václav Havel) made with Lego
Off the wall replied to RemtonDulyak's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Truly exceptional work. Having been through this airport about a year and a half ago, and spending a week in Prague, it brings back good memories. Nice airport, great city, wonderful people. -
I like it, especially the colors. The front window is, I'm assuming, a display window....which would explain its style. One big problem, and I'm not smart enough to solve it, the 'K' in books is really tortured. Oh, and the MOC next to the book store is nice.

Not to worry. I will. Plus,,I,always review on Lego.com Oops...edited
