Question 1 where the yellow shock ends above the axle Question 2 You can but I think you will have redesign the Axle to do that I will try the 3/4 pin tonight and see if it works Thanks for that Horace T ..... didn't even think of such a simple solution.

You will have to use a 5 long axle with stop to achieve that was my idea aswell but tyre catches when turning sharp.
-
^Well spotted  Thank for that ,only noticed it now and now I understand why my rear axle I've build is stiff and not as as flexible as this.

Since I will have to wait for this set to actually(hopefully) arrive in South Africa in Nov. I have decided to expedite the moging of this set and I want a Model of a 6x4 dump truck with the A and B model. I've build this in the meantime and Thanks to Duklodi & Shimon for the Lxf file and Pics published here in the threat. Now all I need is the B model with the Wheels as below

Good day Darksheep Zieg also from South Africa and good to see that I'm not the only person in South Africa enjoying this hobby. I currently live in Cape Town. My Set up is a bit primitive I build on the dining room table as this is currently the safest place in my home as the little one tends to empty all my tray's. I'm still pondering whether or not to build myself a desk and have half of my garage converted into a lego room. cheers

WIP AMG G500 4x4²
Siegfried Meyer replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
First off this is the best G Wagen in lego form I have ever seen  and after driving one (the standard 300G petrol) I'm hooked. Its the best standard off-roader and i would definitely want this one displayed on my shelf. So Yes Please i would most definitely be interested in the LXF for the Chassis Great work Outstanding- 62 replies

Interesting steering setup  (last two pic's) But I think the axles are too far apart. Will keep my eyes on this thread -
He definitely used pic's posted from the fair, as Dokludi made a replica from the prelim Picture that came to light in January http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6214907 This was build towards the end of Jan. looking at when the pic was posted on BrickShelf. Some time ago a few people were highly(can remember which model) upset about him posting the replica Pictures, honestly I don't know why? As it takes some serious SKILL to do this. The small Truck from the 42043 B -model took me 36 Hours to build and I'm definitely not spot on. This was done thru serious scanning of the pictures uploaded in this thread.(thanks Guys) Hopefully I'm close to the real Model but time will tell... Will try to post some better quality pictures and close - ups if this doesn't upset anybody in this Form? cheers

Thanks. Normally arrives mid August early Sept. but not at TRU as they have to wait for their bulk order to arrive.
-
Well this set is definitely on my list, after building the B model Tractor from pic's only. August really has to come Next I will try the trailer without the crane

Seems like my feelings about the steering is the same about as the rest how they need a straight six dummy engine.. It has the L motor which is mounted between the turntable and above the second axle Missed that in the video thanks for pointing this out.
-
Thank you for your explanation on the steering set-up Andy Ultimately it's a fun toy, not a precision scale model True and agreed, but IMHO the "slack" seemed a bit excessive between the movement of the first and second axle in the last clip from Promobricks Do you know if this steering system was used in any other official set before the 43034?
-
Well anyway back to the Arocs.... Has anyone figured out how the steering works as I suspect that we will see the same crappy steering as the 8110. In the last YouTube clip it seems that the second axle returns to centre befoe the first starts to move. Hopefully its something we can easily MOD
-
Do you guys think that they made new hub's for the front axle's. I just can't make out what they have done on the front axle, think it's mounted with 3x new suspension arms
-
At first I thought you are just being cocky by the statement to NXT45... but MAN is this a BRILLIANT MOC. Well done Mr "Italian Brick" and this would definitely be on my top 3 list RESPECT

It seems as if the crane can only exstend 5 studs, then the tubes will have reached the end point. Can someone who has been at the fair confirm this?
