  1. Well, looks like you and I have something in common!
  2. This kinda deserves its own post. So, good news for those of you too scared to watch the vids with shaky cam This is the preview from TRU, there's no major spoilers in it really, and nothing you won't get if you didn't see anything earlier on asides from the students liking Cole and the 'pedestrian' reference.
  3. Unless you have Destructoid, you can't really say they "all" have extras... do you? Because if you do, you haven't stated it until now and I would love to see some more pictures of the set if you could provide them.
  4. I can confirm that ALL sets (asides from Ninjacopter and Destructoid, have not built/bought them repsectively) have two bandannas per ninja/color. EDIT: Most of the new sets have an animation instead of pics on the Product page now. Yay for stock sound effects!
  5. No, each set has two of them (per character that uses them)
  6. Unfortunately though, there is a common misconception about how long Garmadon was in the Underworld for. It was at maximum probably about 11 years. Garmadon was banished soon after Lloyd's birth, and not to mention Kai's father had been adventuring with them long before Garmadon's full transformation to evil. Zane was also around far before Garmadon's banishment, Samukai was wearing his helmet when demanding Dr Julien build the Skeleton Army vehicles. I feel somewhat sorry for Zane, he's always just going to get more outdated and just live forever while everyone else dies.
  7. That's not entirely true, but it is more or less true. The first half of Season 3 was really a filler plot but it was mainly wrapping off the cliffhanger of Season 2 and getting rid of the Elemental Weapons.
  8. I doubt it means anything now. This isn't much of a spoiler, so I won't use tags, but if you don't want to know anything before the new season airs officially airs don't read this. The Overlord is "done with mortal bodies" and given the... constraints, of technology, as evidenced by Episode 2, it's well within reason to assume that the Overlord only created the Mechdragon just to capture Lloyd and act as a sign of militaristic superiority.
  9. I'm sorry, that's not really a plot-hole at all. In NINJAGO everything up to the Final battle happened for a reason and due to NINJAGO's "balance". If evil gains an upper hand, good gets something to balance it out. But really, I doubt it would have been something like 3 months, really more like 3 days, actually. Dr Julien, as implied by Cyrus Borg, must have died just before New Ninjago City was, ahem, "technofied". Not a plot hole in the slightest, if you want a big fat gaping plot hole look at Wrong Place, Wrong Time or the fact that the other elevator in The Surge didn't detect the Techno Blades.
  10. Guys, this isn't EXO-FORCE versus NINJAGO. Back on topic before this gets out of hand please. Discussion of a sticker regarding EXO-FORCE in a NINJAGO set is OK, but this is too far.
  11. Not really, if you know the back-story of the Phantom Ninja. He was a bandit Wu caught and trained into a ninja, on the condition that he only stole from Bandits from that point on. Then there's just myths and rumors about him, and he's incredibly powerful in terms of physical fighting, but Lloyd or one of the other ninja could easily take him on now that they've all finished their training, unlocked their True Potential etc whereas the Phantom hasn't. Even if the EXO-FORCE reference has meaning to the NINJAGO world, I doubt it would become a thing of focus anyway. Also, Aanchir, I forgot to mention that EXO-FORCE's plot is very dynamic in regard to Sentai Mountain. Sentai Mountain was split and shortly after the robots were cast into the Gorge, until they came back later (obviously). So it wouldn't necessarily have to have taken place before-hand. Anyway, personally I think the Graphic Novels are mostly non-canon. The novels including the Stone Army, etc don't really fit into the plot of the TV show (not that I've read them, but I'll explain why). The Day Ninjago Stood Still took place the day after The Stone Army, and The Last Voyage took place the day after TDNSS. The Last Voyage covered presumably two days of time, and the day after that was (VERY presumably) Island of Darkness. From there the plot is directly built on from the point where it left off. This leaves no time whatsoever the Novels to take place. Inbetween TDNSS and The Last Voyage is unsuitable, because the Stone Army was implied by Wu to have stayed in the city and then suddenly disappeared. Furthermore the Bounty took them directly from NINJAGO City to the beach, and no attacks came from the Army. Between The Last Voyage and the Island of Darkness is a stretch too, because not even the Overlord knew the ninja were on the island yet (though he sensed them). And to say any of them could have happened after Island of Darkness is absurd due to the retreat of the army and presumed lack of attack during the night (the Overlord, Garmadon or the Stone Army never learned of where the ninja were hiding). Maybe some of the early graphic novels could be considered canon, but the one involving the Final Battle can't for reasons already stated.
  12. Interesting thing I noticed, not exactly a spoiler. It seems that the distance between TFB and Rebooted is a LOT shorter than we thought. Nya's comment near the start about how it hadn't been very long since the Final battle and yet they had completely revamped NINJAGO City into New NINJAGO city, so it really means that if The Final Battle had have occured maybe three months after it was meant to
  13. Except there's one big huge flaw in that logic. NINJAGO is not strictly human VS robot. Nor does it seem to be in the TV show right now. It feels more like they're just trying to completely bypass the Nindroids amd fight the Overlord (also, the nindroids are controlled more or less by the Overlord anyway, so they're more like remote control toys that are just on auto-pilot) NINJAGO doesn't really have a lot of Mechs anyway. Right now we've only got five of them. At a basic glance maybe they have a lot in common, but they're still very far apart in almost every way. NINJAGO was also more specific in its Asian influence than just anime, and NINJAGO also builds onto its influences in a lot of ways. Regarding just2good's comment, that's not really comparable here. Aqua Raiders ended suddenly and the ATLANTIS line really told you what happened to them in the end, and the two lines were linked if only by the underwater aspect. But as a whole there isn't much for NINJAGO and EXO-FORCE to connect. Penkid, Dr Brains wasn't exactly an Easter Egg of sorts, but more like a cross-theme merge. Any evidence to back up the idea that the Undersea Explorer was designed for PM yet released a year after PM ended?
  14. It may be a mere reference Aanchir, like the Clutch Powers one, but in this case, why? EXO-FORCE is a line dead for years that has little or nothing to do with NINJAGO, even with all the Mechs we've been getting as of late. Granted, Clutch too has little to do with NINJAGO, but it's a bit more justified in Clutch's case because of all the LEGO lines that co-exist at the same time in that universe. But EXO-FORCE... EXO-FORCE's media didn't contain Minifigures of any sort, and usage of LEGO-like objects in the books and comic (and miscellaneous gear) was very sparse, whereas NINJAGO constantly uses Minifigures and, like the Pilot episodes, currently uses objects very close to the sets. Not to mention that in all of the new sets, they put the Sentai Mountain sticker as a data-screen on of all places a giant mechanical dragon. While yes, the dragon technically is a mech, it's far from anything ever seen in EXO-FORCE other than in the final year. The sticker, or a modified version, would have been better placed on the Samurai Mech, the Golden Mech, Fire Mech or the Earth Mech (thought not the snake mech). In the end it all comes down to really is why? It may be just a simple reference, like the Clutch Powers one, but there are more appropriate sets for such a reference and more appropriate places on the Mechdragon itself for a reference such as this.
  15. No, Cyrus' name is a pun on Cyborg, and Borg is a term not invented by Star Trek anyway. Now then, hold on to your butts, potential MASSIVE spoiler ahead (or it could be just me being an idiot and looking to far into this, but you guys need to see this)
  16. Actually, no. It's "Min-Droid". Go check the LEGO website. That's the name of the character and his bio confirms Cryptor said "Min-droid".
  17. "What? Did they run out of metal? I think I'll call you, "Min-droid!" Ha ha hah" - General Cryptor, for those who I just love Min-droid's expression when Cryptor says that
  18. ...perfect. And I just bought the Ninjacopter, too. Well, how long does the deal go for? Is it online? And what posters does it have? (also, this is better to be discussed in the set topic) EDIT: gosh darnit, it's America only.
  19. Agreed on that. I probably won't buy it unless it's just something my parents are willing to get me as a one-off but it looks pretty lack-luster TBH.
  20. NINJAGO seems VERY popular right now for a line discontinued for a year. The line hasn't exactly been downscaled, it was with the 2013 wave and it's bounced back pretty well to get the TV show back and a full wave of sets, including an LE set and a promising future wave (considering they've started finalizing it already). It's coming back into mass-production, and the fact that LEGO would risk giving it a TV show that could potentially offset Chima's current effects is another thing to notice. This is really the first time this has ever happened in LEGO's history, there may be a time I'm unaware of but this is a VERY unique scenario, so I agree with you that we cannot discredit any theories at this time.
  21. Somewhat relevant: Not very interested, this trailer is pretty full of itself.
  22. I didn't actually mean the Outlands, I meant the fog of destiny, but I actually agree on what you said there. That is so totally true. Yes, I hope the side-lined characters get a physical minifigure. Seeing as all of them (asides from possessed Garmy, of course) have parts already in use. Regarding Julien, Freddy, Misako isn't really the character to have her own spinner. She's a secondary, not-big-on-action character. This also belongs in the set discussion and I believe the reason the Spinners are gone is because LEGO is giving CHIMA one last chance to get its act together. EDIT: Also, I believe it's not a huge spoiler what's happened to Julien. Most people will put two and two together anyway. But it's really not a big issue as a spoiler, it doesn't happen on-screen and it's not as huge a spoiler as what happens to the Overlord, etc.
  23. Don't worry, LEGO still has Epic Dragon Battle, Samurai Mech, Ultra Sonic Raider etc on S@H for a little while longer. I doubt that this is the case. Chima didn't air this early, and they've had a whole year working on these sets, and much of the art style was already finished before Summer last year. (partly evidenced by the Zane poster, Nindroid reflection etc) and not to mention NINJAGO has a lot of its sets already incorporated, I'm assuming part of the reason they aired Chima so late was because all of the sets made an appearance at the same time to remove spoilers on the upcoming sets. Whereas with NINJAGO, it's an epic build up-esque thing, not a hint-at-the-next-plot-subtly-so-we-can-get-away-with-a-bad-plot. As it is Chima has had trouble with its "peaceful" plot, and that may be why there's a shift towards an actual evil enemy, not just a bunch of furries riding on motorbikes worried about getting hit by a fog and turning evil. (I know that's not the plot of Chima) Anyway, I'm getting off-topic. NINJAGO has always had its TV show air in a sequence and not a give-you-one-episode-now-wait-six-months-for-the-next. Even Season 3 didn't have that going on, and that's the only season that could have a proper excuse for it anyway. NINJAGO has a habit of showing future sets early in their build-up anyway. In regards to the movie, I highly doubt that. You can't cram enough plot into a movie as you can a TV show. Especially a kid's movie that will only be 95-110 minutes long. NINJAGO's season have a combined total of 9 hours and 40 minutes, not including Season 4. That's 4 and a half ours a season, or 9 hours a year. That's cheaper to produce, and much more sustainable in terms of plot. With the usual grand amount of thing introduced in a single season's pilots, pacing will become a problem in a movie. The movie will likely be a side-plot, similar but not similar to the first half of Season 3. Season 3's overall plot wouldn't work as a movie, it's too much repetition. But the basis OF the first half, a few episodes in a side-plot that requires no sets, is what is required. That's not to say stopping the show for the movie would be a bad thing, but it's a bit of a stretch this time. It worked with the Pilot episode, but to a kid what's more cool? A TV show or a movie? EDIT: sorry, forgot to talk about Dareth, Misako, Ultra Dragon etc. Ultra Dragon and Ultra Sonic Raider are too conspicuous, especially when the main basis is stealth. They may very well return for the finale, but it's unlikely. Misako is already off-screen, and she'll return soon enough to be a hostage or something. Dareth is just a plain slob now, he'll return soon enough as a comedy gag if Kruncha and Nuckal don't.
  24. Indeed, they are. If you really want to you can call this Season 3, the discs are all referred to as Season 2 on the boxes, yet the "Training for /+ Final Battle" is officially regarded as Season 3. So technically this is Season 4. EDIT: Also, I know I'm VERY late on acknowledging this, but is anyone else somewhat disturbed by the fact that this is the first time we've seen Garmadon actually wearing pants? (he may have been wearing black ones earlier, but it's not very obvious if so)
