  1. All of those minifigs aren't even placeholders. They are thrown together at random on the spot. We had the same thing happen last year.
  2. NINJAGO 2015 teaser has been uploaded (the cruddy kind) Makes me wonder about what kind of sets we're getting in wave two. That Samurai... chrome version would be nice.
  3. I figured we'd get a teaser... An elemental Samurai? Why is Jay wearing a ZX suit? Why is Kai wearing his original gi? Why are they on a boat? Why is Lloyd wearing his "Techmono"? Why is Cole wearing the DX suit!? edit: You know what? I'm not even going to bother theorizing on the plot for the time being. This is waaay too ridiculous, and I'm hoping this is going to get seriously changed before release. Otherwise... BIONICLE may win me over yet. This looks horrible. And I'm not talking about the video quality for once.
  4. Oh... right, I had forgotten about Unicron. The giant planet thing that swallowed up Megatron turning him into Galvatron after Starscream kicked him out of a spaceship (before returning just in time for Starscream's coronation). Haven't done anything related to Transformers in ages. I blame Michael Bay.
  5. Yeah, it did. With actual ghosts (not skeletons)
  6. What about Cybertron? I don't recall it ever getting a "counter"?
  7. I really enjoyed the trailer. I do find the whole "new dinosaur combo!" kinda weird, though. And I LOVE the idea of trained Raptors. It's going to increase the drama a lot if even JP's classic Raptor-trope can't take down the D-Rex.
  8. If TT Games' take on LOTR is anywhere near accurate as to how big Sauron is, his helmet alone can squash someone. If you go by Monolith Games' depiction, he's twice the size of Celibrimbor (and earlier the same size). This includes times when Sauron wasn't wearing the Ring, so... yeah...
  9. Yeah... I'm not believing that.
  10. Hmm... great recommendation Anyway, nail polish remover definitely works. Apparently one of the (directors, I believe?) guys working on TLM tried using it on Unikitty's face to see if the script was accurate. You can guess the result
  11. It's a splotch of paint. I think you might be reading too far into it.
  12. Maybe because I have stated quite often enough it's the story that drags me into a line? The only thing BIONICLE has ever had running for it to me was the world-building, I never had any real enjoyment of the plot. Even then, it hasn't been so much the world-building but moreso the environments. The 2015 environments, that is. The only things about BIONICLE I ever really enjoyed is the 06-08 artstyle on the Toa/Piraka. The whole "astrology" and "all hail Mata Nui" thing creeped me out. I still have no clue about half the stuff that went on in the plot, the plot holes surrounding the Mask of Life alone were ridiculous. CCBS never worked wonders for me other than the standardized bone system it introduced, the legs/arms of the old system were vastly inferior to the CCBS version. And after doing some serious experimentation with CCBS over the past few weeks, I can safely say that while it's better than what I though it was like (sat on a bunch of CCBS parts for years, did nothing with them until recently), I'm really not a fan of it. And some of the sets I've bought recently have left a very sour taste in my mouth (looking at you, Surge and Rocka Combat Machine) in regards to it. The only reason I ever gained even a remote interest in BIONICLE was because there was a metaphorical drought for NINJAGO and needed something to do. All aboard the hype train.
  13. No. That's... just paint. I think. It's also nothing like Cole's symbol. Here you can clearly see Cole's symbol. The set version is identical. The idea that this is Cole's hood... eh, I'm not going to talk about it. It's a possibility, but it feels more villain-esque to me than anything else. I could easily be wrong, however. edit: Sorry, picture's tiny now. Well, you can at least make out what it looks like.
  14. Link to the image please? I only have the black and white image and the color one. I'll go check TTV's older videos, they would have had something to do with it. edit: Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're talking about the black and white image. That only featured Winter sets.
  15. It's far too early for sets/molds to be even prototyped yet. Alright, maybe they have done some prototypes, but nothing that wouldn't be super secret. The NINJAGO movie is an entire year and a half away, and the Commentary on TLM itself more or less indicated that the movies are designed first, the sets second. I've reconsidered my earlier opinion, and this piece probably will show up in a NINJAGO set. It does fit with the NINJAGO style, with the lower gi. If you spray paint it brown you can get Master Chief's hood out of it too
  16. Yeah, I have to agree with Leewan. I'm gonna be really annoyed if we don't get at least some decent bad guy sets this year. LOSS seems to be an "okay set", but not what I would call a decent set. Ha, how funny. The story and concepts they brought into the new version of BIONICLE dragged me in, but now it's really starting to wear off and the rose tinted glasses aren't sufficing anymore. Truth be told, all of the sets are becoming blander every second I look/make MOC-ups of. Vive la NINJAGO
  17. Well, I'm too used to "Protectors" being used as an "in-general" term for the villagers/islanders that I thought that's what Dorek was saying.
  18. Often times the Minifigures in these "previews" are just thrown together. "She" is also wearing a Jedi torso. And while this mold may retain some elements of the NINJAGO "half gi" I really doubt it has anything to do with NINJAGO. It also would have nothing to do with the movie, far too early for any part like that to come up.
  19. It's yet to be known if the species itself is called Protectors. If they really are the Turaga, they're most certainly a part of the same species. Even if you want to get picky about that, they're similar enough to throw the details out the window and be done with it. Sorry, to clarify: I was speaking of two things I found very weird. First of all, I was creeped out by the fact that they all worshiped Mata Nui and then it just turns out he was an even bigger robot that more or less had nothing to do with the Matoran other than providing a home for them. Secondly, it was hilarious for me to see that BIONICLE's biggest and greatest villain stoop to the levels of Darth Vader versing Luke Skywalker in football to determine who lives or dies, or Frodo playing Hide and Seek with Saur- oh, wait. That last one actually happened The Makuta VS Mata Nui giant robot thing actually fit really well. And the delay between Mata Nui's arrival on Bara Magna and Makuta's arrival could have been a lot longer...
  20. Because the shop descriptions make it sound like there's more than just the six? And it's still "up in the air"? Gee, I wonder how that's the case when we saw two Fire Protectors side by side staring at a carving on the wall. And a whole bunch of Fire Protectors in a village. And villages for every type of Protector in the boxart. Yeah, I'm certain it's "up in the air" at this point. Anyway, I'm pretty sure the Toa's arrival has something to do with the Temple of Time (NO, I am NOT bringing the Vahi up). It was on the same slides featuring the Toa's arrival, and furthermore it was pulsating with energy. LEGO's done stuff like this before, eg, in NINJAGO the portal the Overlord possessed Garmadon through did a similar thing. But I'm basing all of this on the placement of three pictures together, so it might not happen. Would certainly explain the Protectors "enlisting" the help of the Toa if they really did "activate the temple". Tbh, I'm going to be very happy if no one worships Ekimu. It was kind of weird for me (maybe because I only seriously looked up the BIONICLE story this year) finding out that all the Matoran worshipped Mata Nui. Especially considering I came late enough to see the awesome artwork of Makuta and Mata Nui playing Rock 'Em Sock 'Em robots after seeing Makuta first play Kolhii and hide and seek to defeat people.
  21. Better yet, he'll turn evil and try to control Okoto with plants. Meanwhile Kopaka will turn evil too, and he'll try to freeze Okoto. Then, in following true LEGO fashion (and making Fire characters the main ones) the Dark Tahu will rise up to defeat them. In return, Lewa and Kopaka will unite with Bane Onua and make horribly cheesy jokes, Pohatu the most underrated character will become the Dark Tahu's sidekick, and Gali will visit them to look after their dying butler Ekimu and then join them. edit: And it will be called: "DARK TAHU AND POHATU". Chicks dig the Lavaboard
  22. VBBN just posted his Lewa review! http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=102674 Edit: Gah! VBBN? You're... a robot!? And you've gone into rampancy!? And you're a woman!? ( )
  23. Hmm, the dinosaurs look interesting, but not too note-worthy to me.
  24. The same applies for bioniclestory.com
  25. Tbh I found DoS to be very boring. With the ridiculous amounts of ways they changed the plot, and some highly stupid decisions. Namely the "Barrel Fight" and Smaug's bath in gold. I can excuse the barrel fight sequence, because that was hilarious. But DoS' ending was terrible and I don't have high hopes for the next film. Although then again, movies set in Middle Earth have had a history of making stupid "additions" to the plot to increase the drama.
