  1. There's so much to unpack here...just wow! First of all it's a great honour to be part of this collaboration and thank you for asking me to take part. There's so many great parts to this build, the sky in the last photo, the way the flags and capes align in the wind, the thatched roof, the interior scenes, etc. All in all it adds up to a fantastic free build!
  2. A fantastic perspective here, it's a shame because I'm sure this is one of those of those builds where there's lots of details out of sight but as you set it up for one shot they can't be fully appreciated. Oh well! Nice story too, interested to see how this develops!
  3. This is really cool idea, especially with the irregular base. I like the contrast between the tan and medium orange. The only thing that stands out a bit is that it's too unnaturally flat! It would add to the complexity but you could use tiles underneath the cheese to raise some sections up a little, although it might look a bit weird. Anyway, lovely MOC!
  4. This is such an amazing build! I love the story and the way you've interweaved an intricate and believable tale interspersed with so many lovely photos. The tower house itself has so many nice techniques and features - I love the irregular roof tiles and the way you've embedded the wooden pillars into the side of the stonework. Great job!
  5. This is a fantastic entry to Challenge III. Love the colours and the story brings it to life. Great work!
  6. Such a beautiful shot, the lighting is perfect and the sea blending into the sky makes it very realistic. Great job!
  7. Thanks for the information!
  8. This is simply stunning - as others have mentioned the contrast between the drab black and bright purples and pinks is striking. I live the figs too, they are exactly how I imagined the Kolgari. Can anyone tell me what the headdresses are that the blade mages and big priestess are wearing? I don't recognise that part. Nice story too!
  9. Agreed that these evoke fond memories of the castle sets of our (collective) youths, they all look great. I like the way the story is developing - some guilds have benefitted greatly from the queen and some have suffered and blame her for their woes. It'd be nice for the next challenge to have a slightly more martial theme!
  10. Excellent MOCs @soccerkid6, both are really full of nice techniques. I like the story too, I've been out of things for a while but presumably this is for challenge 4?
  11. Yeah that just about makes sense! Thanks for the explanation.
  12. This is a really stunning interior scene! Love the white, and the way you have integrated the "plus" shaped Technic holes into the bannister and also down the stairs. Great fig posing and looking forward to seeing how this plays out!
  13. So what does this alliance mean for our families? What actions or benefits does this confer? I like the idea of the intrigue thread but I'm not sure exactly how it works!
  14. I'd say I'm unlikely to build for the current challenge, I too have an imminent baby on the way and next week I'm decorating. I hope to get back into things in a few weeks.
  15. Lovely stuff @Zilmrud! Wish I could have seen those in person. You guys did a great job with the display!
  16. Fantastic forced perspective! The camera angle really embeds you into the scene. A couple of photography points - the shot with the blue background could be doing with less depth of field, you can still make out detail in the background. You did a great job of getting the fig in focus though! Secondly, I really love the pink background. But normally this sky appears at dawn or dusk, so I think having more subdued lighting here would help make this more believable. Overall though it's a terrific build!
  17. This is a really lovely build. Great variety of figs, and the flesh skin tones really blend in well with the landscape. Love the half finished fort and your snowscaping is very well done. Great job!
  18. Fair enough, I think it's fair to say we've all mostly been neglecting (temporarily) our GoH duties, but hopefully when the challenge is announced that'll all change. I haven't had time for LEGO in the last 7 weeks, but after next weekend I'll hopefully get back into it.
  19. Thanks for the update Kevin. Look forward to it!
  20. Cheers for confirming @soccerkid6!
  21. Thanks for sharing the detailed results @Rogue Angel! I think we Varlyrians should be proud of that, winning two categories and placing third in the other one. In addition we scored second in the points for the challenge, only being edged out by the quantity of Avalonia. It seems to me the judging should provide a large bonus to the guild which wins a challenge, e.g. +10 points. It's a bit silly that Avalonia topped the points despite not winning a single challenge. I've got three more builds planned, and given we have until the 30th April, hopefully will manage all of them before that deadline!
  22. Congratulations to @ZlatanXVIGustaf and @Gideon, both fantastic entries and well deserved winners. Also proud to be part of Varlyrio who did really well in this challenge. Thank you to the judges for such a fast turnaround of the results - definitely helps to keep the players happy! The total scores appear to be (maybe someone can double check my maths?): Avalonia 451 Varlyrio 340 Mitgardia 313 Kaliphlin 295
  23. Look forward to the freebuild @Garmadon! I thought we would have done better in the freebuild scoring, it seems like there were a few free builds? Are you sure none were missed? Hopefully with so many challenge entries this time round we will start to claw back some points!
  24. Thanks for the info @Rogue Angel!
  25. Glad you got there in the end! It takes time and practice to get used to a camera so don't worry about it. I'm hardly a photography expert but happy to help if you want it.
