I didn't see that before, but I do now. Hang on though, don't spiders have eight legs? I think the spider/thing when mounted on the fortress would look better and more intimidating if it had more legs. The "DX" version of the black ninja looks great, particularly with the gold printing. I'll definitely need to pick up the DX minifigs and Nya with my other ninjas. Are they going to be released all at once, or will the DX ones be delayed? I really want to create a small army of ninjas as quickly as possible before they disappear off the shelves. Also, I can just barely see that in the starter set the katana appears to be the standard silver, not dark grey as I originally thought. That's too bad. I still need at least one extra gold katana for Nya, though, which is a bit problematic. For some reason, I limit all the minifigs to only having katanas. I like quite a lot of the new weapons (the scythe and chain, for example) but I'll still stick to just katanas. I'm going to have a large pile of weapons afterwards, though.

I was planning to get four of the red ninja, and I'll stick to that. However, I want another katana for Nya. I haven't noticed the new dragon torso. I'll wait until the existence of those "DX" figures is shown. If they will be released soon, I'll skip future sets including this torso. Grogall, your Brickshelf folder is now public, but the individual figs aren't there. It would be nice if you could upload them soon.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Delta 38 replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Interesting. I'm fairly interested in the smaller sets, but they do seem to big rather large. I hope the cannibal set includes some nice bone stuff. The other sets sound interesting, but I have no knowledge of the series and I'll have to see images before I can judge. -
Yay, new pictures! Personally, I'd like to see the individual figs as those are what I'll focus on. Are there straight arms included with the individual ones? Also, are there any grey katana in the individual figs? I thought I saw grey versions with the starter pack and was prepared to buy four for them, but it would be somewhat disappointing if they were actually silver. If grey versions exist, I want to use them for all my blue ninjas once I get them. Same thing for gold katana; I need four (preferably five) for red ninjas, but I only see them with the individual red ninja. Either way, I'll wait until your folder is public.

You may be right. I don't know exactly how true that is. Personally, I buy Star Wars sets regardless of minifigs or exactly what it is, unless they are either too expensive or don't contain good enough minifigs for its price. As for making every ship, do you mean remake every existing set? That doesn't seem very likely, though I would like to have the line ending with major remakes (AT-TE, AT-AT, LAAT/i, Millennium Falcon and so on). As for remakes, I'm quite happy that there are sets being remade. As I'm a relatively late collector, I've missed lots of decent sets, and many that I've wanted. Remaking sets should improve the actual set as well as giving people who missed out the opportunity to own whatever it is. There are some fairly recent sets that I missed out on that I couldn't get just because of their price (like the above mentioned AT-TE and LAAT/i which I really wanted). Sure, remakes might take the place of a brand-new set or might be slightly worse than the original, but I don't mind that. Finally, to add onto the existing Clone Wars argument, even if there are many redundant Clones, vehicles and the like, does it really matter if they're made into sets? As I've said, I'll mostly buy every set whether they are Clone Wars or not. If Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy sets are made instead of Clone Wars sets, after a few years there won't be many iconic vehicles and sets left. The Clone Wars series is still being continued, so there may be a vehicle that everyone suddenly loves despite not liking the Clone Wars. The fact that the Clone Wars is being focused upon may also see remakes of sets from the trilogies that feature in the Clone Wars in a different form. I'm just glad that the Clone Wars exists at all, so I can continue my Clone Trooper collection.

Gasp, front-paged. I feel the need to reply. I'm not sick of any subthemes of Star Wars, particularly not the Clone Wars. No matter how redundant they seem, more Clones are great. I also definitely need more sets in general as I've only started major collecting around two or three years ago. One thing I don't like, though, is the strange randomised set orders of some waves. It might be nice to have a Clone Wars/prequel trilogy wave and an original trilogy wave. That way, sets are less scrambled and both sides should hopefully be happy. For the moment, though, I'm fine with the Clone Wars dominant sets.

Oh hey, I didn't notice that. Great, now I can have at least one speeder that isn't like the other four I'm planning to get. It isn't very noticeable, though. Both screenshots show the back of the BARCs as having extra decoration in red/blue, but neither versions of the speeder seen here have that back detail. Stickers might have fixed that, but I'd prefer it if there weren't stickers in this case. As for the fact that green-striped BARCs haven't been seen, could it perhaps be related to the Clone with green markings? Hmm.

I don't know what the prices are (particularly here), but if that's the case, then that's great. If the Halo costs less than Palpatine's shuttle, it will be under $100; sounds quite unlikely, but that would be great. Anyway, I'm not sure about the Malevolence. I don't have much experience with it and I don't consider it as iconic as other ships. There are a lot of figures, but if the price is $350 (or was it $250?) then it would surely be worth a fortune over here. Either way, I'm not really interested. I'd rather get a Venator or something, and even those are out of my price range. I mainly want the Ewok Attack set and the frigate. I hope the frigate is affordable and isn't too big (around Slave 1's price is okay). With the amount of new Clones included, it sounds worth it.

I think there might be an alternate face as when we first saw the minifig she didn't have a mask. Personally, though, I prefer the masked face. I've made a strange decision which I'm probably going to stick to. I'm going to only buy the individual minifig packs, with the exception of the dojo set. I want four of each ninja, and this is the only way I can see to get them. Another reason why I'll be doing this is because I want different katana for each ninja type, for example gold katanas for red ninjas. Thus, one of my major complaints right now is the fact that individual skeletons don't have straight arms. As I'll only be getting one skeleton from an actual set unless I change my mind, I'll have a lot of strange looking skeletons that can't hold weapons straight.

I don't think we've seen these in finalised format: Nya Nuckal Apologies if this doesn't work, I'm on my iPod and it's approaching midnight.
-
Ah, I see. I don't follow the Clone Wars much. After brief research, those characters are indeed Clones. Yay! They also have nice red designs, which is good. The Consular frigate is okay, though personally I like the Pelta. As for the Malevolence, it sounds way too expensive and big. Interesting nonetheless.
-
I'm not doing research yet, but they all sound like Clones. Hopefully with different colours! Perhaps this explains the Yoda and Cody visible on that guy's desk, whose name escapes me... Padme's ship sounds interesting. Is it the one from the first movie or is it Clone Wars?
-
Three Ewoks and two Scout troopers? That's perfect! I need at least two or maybe even three. I hope one Ewok is different from the others. If they all are different then it would look odd if I bought two or three. The Republic Frigate could have some work regarding minifigs. I have yet to get one, but once I get Anakin from the T6 I won't want another. I hope it's at least a variation, preferably with different torso. No clones either, which is a major disappointment. Oh well. Depending on exactly what the set is, I may skip it.
-
Hmm. Seeing as I'm now happy to get multiples (preferably four or five of each type), I will try to get the fortress set. The samurai minifig is nice, particularly considering I haven't got one, as well as the other four-armed skeleton. The images appear stretched on my computer, but I believe there's a bone on top of the samurai's helmet. It appears to be a shorter bone than the other long bones seen as weapons. This is great, but I hope the piece comes more frequently. Personally, I'll be swapping it out for two horns.
-
Okay, going on from the list on the first page, I have to say that the new wave seems very haphazard. The Ewok set sounds like one of those larger battlepacks, and I may even end up getting two depending on how many Ewoks or Stormtroopers are included (hopefully Scout troopers!). The Geonosian starfighter and Sith Infiltrator are good. The Republic Frigate might be good; anything with the name "Republic" usually is related to Clones. I'm not sure about the others. I'll need to know what that speeder is before I get interested. Not really interested in the Podracers, but I'll try to get them if I can. The Millennium Falcon, however, is a must-have so long as it falls into the same price category as the Slave 1 ($150 maximum, preferably).
-
Yay! That would be great. More human vehicles too, I'm getting fond of them. I really want that minifig pack, mainly because of that sarcophagus. The mummies are also very nice.
-
Gasp! You're right! Well, not really, but I've never thought of it that way. I don't think the brown blur is the AAT, though the Y-Wing is possible. As for the sets, I don't know. I'd like both ships, but probably not in the same set. I'd also prefer a "proper" yellow Y-Wing, but I could go with the red one... The price determines everything though. I'm not quite following the other rumours. I'll need to read back. If the Geonosis sets are Clone Wars, though, I don't mind.

REVIEW: 7325 Cursed Cobra Statue
Delta 38 replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ooh! The headdress is dark tan! Great, I thought it was tan before but I prefer dark tan. I like the minifigs and jeep, despite the jeep's simplicity. Yay, more female minifigs. I need a lot more for equality in my collection. -
I think it may have worked even better. If only they introduced the new colour scheme earlier, then they could have a third colour scheme. Blue or orange sounds fairly realistic.
-
I'm going more along the lines of a real person who's making up rumours personally. I don't know about these new rumours. There doesn't seem to be any concrete evidence (with good reason, as we haven't even gone into next year yet!). As others have said, though, whether the new sets are real or not, there are definitely too many BARC speeders being thrown around. I'm probably getting four of the clone battle pack to make a squad, and that's already more than enough. Of course, I'd like to have a larger array of vehicles, but it's a bit ridiculous. Well, more clones are always good. Don't really care about what sets we get so long as they include them.
-
Obviously magnet sets are popular, but I think this is mostly because of budget cuts and concerns about profits. I don't know exactly how popular magnet sets are as they're not around my area, but I don't think they make much. I guess most people don't buy them for the magnets, really. It isn't too logical to glue the minifigs to the base, though.
-
Well, glue being used in magnets is definitely not good for those who buy them, but it's fairly reassuring for me. I don't buy magnet sets (because I can't find any and also because of supposed quality issues), so I'm glad that buying sets to get minifigures isn't a waste now. Of course, this is at other peoples' expense, but I don't think Lego can keep up with selling magnet sets as it does decrease profit from those sets which have exclusive minifigures.

REVIEW: 7306 Golden Staff Guardians
Delta 38 replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hey, cool. I didn't notice the printing (or paint?) on the motorcycle. That's nice, especially considering the fact that I haven't got a motorcycle of this type. I may get two of this set for the mummies and motorcycles. -
Wait, where? It might just be me, but I see no differences. The colour looks a bit lighter though. Edit: oh wait, it's not new. It was in most sets, but some (impulse sets and possibly others) had a less detailed mould made out of crappy rubbery stuff. I have two of said tridents, so I'll probably replace them once I get the temple set, assuming I do...
-
Wow! Is that a transparent head? That will probably be my first one (at least, first actual transparent head used on a minifig). I also like the shield's green parts, though I'd prefer it if the shield itself wasn't green. I really want the temple set now. It looks good and the minifigs are great. I hope it's cheaper than the portal set, which was about $160 here, I think? That new key is also very tempting. I may also get the Gateway of the Squid set as it could be a good entrance to the temple.
