Supposed to build for Valentine's Day and a local brick fest which is cancelled due to the coronavirus plague. If this MOC comes out on Feb 14, the original setting would be lovers. Now what? Subject to your interpretation... more likely to be a boy urging for love. Now that people in Hong Kong have to wear face mask to protect ourselves from the plaque, we like to go to the countryside. This is the other reason why I build this scene. Hard to imagine that a great fan like you, who have built so many MOCS of Pink Floyd, did not see the film. You must see ASAP. I can't tell which song is the greatest in the movie. Mother, Goodbye blue sky and Run Like Hell are probably the same good as Comfortably Numb to me.

As a resident of Hong Kong, I have dreamed of a snowy place for a long time. IMG_4766 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr The snowy effect comes from the blend of trans-clear, trans-light blue, trans-blue, trans-purple and trans-black bricks. I watched it over 20 times and I still find the animation fascinating. So far there is no other movie that can inspire me so much. To my wife, this MOC is also terrifying. She does not allow me to display at home. LOL

My Tribute to Pink Floyd and Gerald Scarfe. This work is based on a still picture of the movie "PINK FLOYD THE WALL" in which Pink, the chief character, was under huge pressure and found no way but to scream from a wall -- a desperate hope to escape from totalitarianism. This movie is my classic; it has great impact on my visual and music aesthetics. Do you have a daughter? My daughter appears as a turbulence to my life of being an AFOL. An ordinary AFOL may build models no other than houses, robots, cars and other sci-fi stuffs. Girl-themed LEGO sets do not coexist peacefully with your former builds. This is my experience. Up to date I have not seen LEGO movie 2, but I think this is a major of the story line. I assign a special task while building this creation -- to create some "floating elements", including the LEGO Movie 2 logo, the house (which does not touch the base) and the spaceship (which is meant to smash the ground by the girly monster). I am very delighted I was awarded a prize in a building competition hosted by HKLUG (Hong Kong LEGO Users Group). A simple way to make mosaic with basic bricks.A good gift for your valentine.Remind you, you must use a lot of 1x2 cheese, otherwise the build won't be so easy.I have tested it many times -- pieces won't fall out. I think 16x16 will be an optimum size of this kind of creation. My tribute to a famous Chinese ink painter Xu Beihong (1895-1953). He was primarily known for painting horses. No glue used. Unlike the real painting which was done on paper, this MOC is very thick and heavy. I use a lot of technic parts to get more than half of the slopes stuck. The size of the MOC is 44x44 studs. I think this is the maximum size allowed for this method of creation. You may have noticed all the edges were curved outwards. Not the first time to build this theatre, but first in minifig scale. Built in 1925, the Lee Theatre is a prominent theatre in Hong Kong. However, it was demolished in 1991. Since then, there is no more theatre with classic decoration like this. Technically this is a difficult build. You can see there are a lot of diagonal constructions. This theatre not just showed movies, it is also an ideal venue for Chinese operas, concerts and some other recreational activities. I pick the theme of beauty contest -- Miss Universe Pageant of 1976, which was really held in this place. (Note: all the vehicles in the photos come from official sets; they are not my MOCs. Quite regretfully I have no time to build any cars before deadline). Hope you will find a virtual ride interesting. Here it is. Warning: this video may make you dizzy.

Very excited to hear that there will be Friends' amusement park. I am also building a park of my own.

It has been almost 15 months since I finished building my last "friends-themed" amusement ride, the teacups. Now, I happily present the latest addition to my amusement park: the tourbillion! Tourbillion is a mechanism widely used in vintage watches. A tourbillon aims to counter the effects of gravity by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a rotating cage, to negate the effect of gravity when the timepiece (thus the escapement) is stuck in a certain position. It is also a kind of training given to astronauts so that they can be get used to the Outer Space. Now, the girls are sent to the machine: Tourbillion has recently become a kind of amusement ride. It is just invented in Switzerland in the middle of 2015. The first launch (which requires you to buy tickets), however, is in HONG KONG!!! Want to see it rolls? Here are a few still images: Of course, you may find a video more helpful to you: Want a virtual ride? Watch this video: As usual, before I have completed my work, I suffer quite many times of failures. ^^ My former works of the Friends' Theme Park for your easy reference: 1. Grand Carousel: http://www.eurobrick...topic=87068&hl= 2. Ferris Wheel: http://www.eurobrick...topic=87882&hl= 3. Gyro Drop: http://www.eurobrick...topic=88256&hl= 4. I once wished to build it in the French tri-colour, but the price of blue fence is so appalling.... The second option, light/dark bluish grey, also deflates me. So, finally my MOC ends up like this.
-
Support France and say no to terrorism. This creations is driven by the sad news of the terrorist attack in France. It turns out to be rather late for me to publish it here. I have to wait for the arrival of red fence in order to complete my creation. Hope you agree with me -- the wait is worthwhile. Fences are the best LEGO parts to be used in this creation. In my first idea, I would like to build the MOC in the iconic tre-colour of red, white and blue. However, the blue fences are too costly. ^^" After all, I want a peaceful world so that I can concentrate on my creation....
