  1. Thanks for your info!!! BTW, what is GC?
  2. Thanks for your vote in CUUSOO. I realize that I can't gather 10,000 votes even before I submit the gyro drop. FRIENDS and TECHNIC somehow are not likely to co-exist. I build my theme park for my daughter This is my foremost intention. At the same time but of secondary importance, I wish to know how many male AFOLs would like to build a FRIENDS MOC for their daughters/wife/fiance/lover. I never know the "World Petacular". Thanks for your info. Have just watched the video but cannot find the carousel you have mentioned. Very much like to see the pic. Thanks in advance.
  3. I have some minifigures (with magnets). My son once took away the minifigures and then I started to think about what to do with the remaining magnets. Here was my solution at that time: Since then, I suppose there are many unexplored possibilities of magnets. The use of magnets are simply ignored by many creators.
  4. Do the Friends ever fall out of the cars? And what piece is the steering wheel? -- The minidolls are not speeding, thus they won't fall out of the cars. -- The steering wheel: Part 56904c01 Wheel 30mm D. x 14mm, with Black Tire 43.2 x 14 Does the mecanism change turn-direction during functioning, or is it always turning the same way¿? --Have to use the switch during functioning. The more you switch the direction, the more bumping occurs. My daughter likes this design very much. She thinks she is in some way operating the set.
  5. Another facility of my Friends' theme park. I wish not only girls love it, but also boys do. As a father of a 5-year girl, I have won her heart and let her go nut. You may do the same to your daughters/lover/fiance/wife. The girls like to bump the others. Sometimes it can be a head-to-head bump. The bumper cars are driven by magnets underneath. Enjoy. This bumper cars set is consisted of 3 major components: (1) The baseplate, which resembles 10196 (but not a full copy) (2) The turntable, which looks a little bit complex (3) The top plate Please have a look at the following video: The cars are powered by magnets. If you want to know further how it operates, check this video of "the making of bumper cars" https://www.facebook...&type=2 This is a CUUSOO project. Please support if you really want it to become an official LEGO product: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/53204 My former works of the Friends' Theme Park for your easy reference: 1. Grand Carousel: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=87068 2. Ferris Wheel: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=87882 3. Gyro Drop: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=88256 I am currently working on part V of this theme park and so far I have no idea of where should I stop. Perhaps this theme park is ever expanding. I may be a bit clumsy. Still sincerely hope you enjoy my work.
  6. I wish to tell you the English-speaking guys: The Chinese characters on the left red banner mean "Genuine/Copyrighted product". Hate to be Chinese, cause there are so many shameless Chinese copy cats. Anyway, I regard myself as a Hongkonger.
  7. I suppose the minidolls are perfect for fathers who have daughters, like me. I also love to play LEGO Friends with my daughter to the extent that I am doing some MOCs for her -- the Friends' Theme Park. LOL
  8. Great work.... but how come nobody concerns MOC?
  9. It should have been more thrilling. My first design is a manual version and the carriage can free fall. However, my AFOL friends advise that falling in such an alarming speed does not fit into the image of LEGO FRIENDS. So, I change it into the version now you are seeing.
  10. This is Part 3 of my project. After rebuilding the LEGO official products of 10196 and 4597, I start to build a true MOC. It is a CUUSOO project and it awaits your support: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/48013 The girls of LEGO Friends need more excitement and here they go to the Gyro Drop (or Falling Machine). It is a 10-seater gyro drop powered by a motor and remote control (optional). Yet it does not merely operate with electricity – it operates with the magic of magnet!!! Safety to the girls is always the utmost concern!!! The carriage may fall at an alarming speed but the girls won’t feel any shock when they come to the lowest point. The carriage cannot reach the floor – the magnets underneath helps to float the carriage!!! At the same time (when they come to the lowest point), the girls won’t feel any vibration as the magnets sideway help to stable the carriage. The girls' feet are exposed to feel the breeze when they feel the excitement. The carriage only has minimal contact with the stand, so that it can fall very smoothly. Movie clip of this Gyro Drop -- Former works: (I) Friends' Grand Carousel 10196: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=87068 (II) Friends' Ferris Wheel 4957: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=87882
  11. Yes, you are right and I realize that. But I have no time to refine coz I have to move on to my next "Friend-ised" project. Thanks very much for your comment.
  12. This is my second attempt to "Friend-ise" an official LEGO product. The first one is 10196: Actually I wish to build a theme park and it shall incorporate as many facilities as possible. http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=87068 Now, welcome to LEGO Friends Ferris Wheel. Andrew sells tickets. As usual, everyone needs to queue up for a ride. The official set only contains 8 carts. I merely make some slight alterations and now the ferris wheel allows 16 riders. The other problem of the original set is that its part can easily be dislocated. The two circles in this picture shows how I fix the problem. This is not all of my LEGO friends theme park!
  13. Approximately 24 hours each. I first draw outlines so that I can determine how I build the trestle which is shown as follows: (Note that this is only the first build. It is much smaller than the final product): Yes, actually I have intended to build smaller whales in the first instance. The picture below is for your reference, though they are not yet completed: They look cuter and are very much like baby whales. However, I am soon notified to build larger whales and thus they finally become what you have seen.
  14. They are 2 feet long (or 80 studs long) and they are hollow though there are really many layers of plates. A trestle made of bricks is built therein. I don't think TLG will ever create a line like this. It is simply non-profitable. Sculptures consume tons of bricks. You may probably notice that some other arctic animals appeare in this forum of "Special LEGO Themes" recently. Yes, we are in the same showcase and the function, which shall end very soon, is held in Hong Kong.
  15. They have another name which is easier to remember -- white whales. Have a look here or you need to see them in person in the Arctic. Enjoy.
  16. Never a problem. Bricks are stuck tightly and they won't be loose. I have turned the set over and over again for 50+ times while I am shooting images. The only little trouble is that the temples may not stand very vertically after each turn-over and I have to put it upright again.
  17. Thanks all of you!
  18. Yes, it is a serial project of FRIENDS theme park. They are just ordinary colour paper. $500 too much or not? That depends. But everyone knows it is a fact that the speculate price of MISB is $1100+... and my daughter really goes nut about my set... I suppose, given the girly colours I have used, she would be less crazy for the original set, LOL.
  19. Ever wish to own a LEGO grand carousel (10196) but be disappointed by the appetite spoiling price? Here comes an alternative. If you don't mind using paper instead of the original canvas and running the carousel without the authentic music brick, this set shall be good enough. You may be astonished to learn that this set cost me not more than US$500. I have ordered parts from about 8 bricklink stores. In a lax sense I shall call this set a MOC. I have altered the original set. Its outline looks rather the same as 10196 but you may find a lot of changes when you look into the details. This helps to save my cost. Enjoy. I have installed lightings... Want a picture, girls of LEGO friends? Warning: your soul will be caught by this carousel at night time.... Two sets of lights in operation... Want to watch a video? Here it is. They are similar. You may just choose any one: (If you use a mobile phone) (If you use a laptop or desktop) Almost forget to tell you -- this is the first one in a series.
  20. The topic title (The Shadow) speaks itself....
  21. sure! Never count. I guess 8000+ I first build the wheels because I have to determine the minimum size of them (and at the same time they must look good). Then I know the scale and draw outlines. In the meantime I have to consider its infrastructure -- how it can support a boy.
  22. Hello. This is huge MOC Lightning McQueen and its little brother the metal McQueen. Yes, like Tow Mater, it rolls. This weird idea comes to my mind one day when my son's birthday is coming: I wish to build him a giant McQueen and let him sit on it and ride it. By that time my son is 7 and you perhaps won't believe that LEGO bricks (without technic bricks or liftarms) can support a boy. The secret lies underneath the vehicle. I install more than 110 wheels there! Please enjoy the photos...
  23. A good question... I build the wheels first and then I do a lot of mathematical calculation to set the scale.
