Digging up this thread, as I was find seeing findings of people in various stores... Last Friday I went to the Lego Store in Lille (France), some parts I found interesting: 1x1 plate in dark green 1x2 plate in dark red, dark blue, sand green, white 1x4 plate in sand green, white 1x2 bricks in dark red, sand green, dark green, tan old/classic flower stems; I took a bunch before they disappear (since in new sets they seem to have vanished), maybe I should even have taken a whole cup of these new 5-petal flowers in red, white and yellowish-orange 2x2 tiles in LBG, often seen there, but always useful

Indeed, but for a glass that's not really comparable For these sometimes the bigger part gives a better result -

I don't think they would dare using these large panels in a modular. And some didn't have bricks longer than 1x4 (e.g. the Diner with the teal parts, though that it only concerns parts of a floor and not the whole building) -
compressed during transport ? degraded quality ? or fake ?

As long as you keep water under 40°C (around 100°F) it should cause no risk. For replacement parts, no need to send them the original parts, maybe just a photo by e-mail to show the problem -

Even when buying from local shops they provide support for cases like that. If you contact them, they'll send replacement parts. -

I think it is rather https://brickset.com/sets/41340-1/Friendship-House -
Is there any old sets not very much priced up?
antp replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
On Bricklink if the set is listed as 'complete' it will most likely be the case, much less risk than on ebay, I would say. Like on ebay there are evaluations for sellers, so you can see what comments others left to them. -
I like that station+dealer building, good idea. I'm curious to see that Ninjago corner.

There is much more story in AS & DD than in PR ? (which has some story stuff too, with the ring) -
Most of the Creator 3in1 or City building will look very tiny compared to the Creator Expert modular buildings. Except the recently released hospital, which is fine at the side of a modular building (but may require additional parts if you want it having the same depth as the other buildings, and a back wall).

It is the same as the original (and has not much space for a lot fo things anyway ;) ) I only modified the "front" par of the trailer (and removed one of the two wheel axles)
-
Last weekend I converted the camper trailer from https://brickset.com/sets/60182-1/Pickup-Caravan to a motorhome: (with https://brickset.com/sets/60057-1/Camper-Van at the side for comparison) There is still the bad in the front upper part, even if it is smaller:

Good price indeed, that makes 134€ ; I bought a second TH for parts at 148€ when discounted by Amazon in September 2013, I am quite happy to have done so: that provided me a bunch of dark orange bricks (amongst others) for MOCs that would have been difficult/expensive to buy afterwards. I missed a similar sale on the Green Grocer earlier, but fortunately for me the sand green didn't stop being used in production, so I could buy a second Haunted House for parts when that one was discounted :) -

I think that indeed the dark-orange bricks were at least one of the reasons not to produce a new batch of it and retire it instead. Some of them weren't used since then. -
Brickset/Bricklink are usually update after official releases and can't leak info, so in this case it was rather something internal to Lego I suppose. They continue to bring new colors, but why don't they bring back sand-red (now that teal is back, that's the next dead color I'm missing )

New Quiz: What train set misses wheel(s) in its inventory?
antp replied to Reza's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I remember that in the catalogs indeed -
Nice! Vehicles from the Mad Max movies are always a source of interesting MOCs :)

I still have some trans-blue 1x2 (as I didn't use that much to expand the scenery of the Ninjago City), but I'm not sure I have enough to tile all the blue baseplates. I should count these. Maybe I'll rather use the remaining ones to lengthen a little the river along the rail track (where there is no baseplate yet). In a way I like the old-style studded blue water :)

I suppose it is https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=132old&idColor=9#T=C&C=9 Great work indeed (as usual, I'm tempted to say)

Two weeks ago I took https://brickset.com/sets/60132-1/Service-Station out of my pile of waiting sets, it was time since it is there since long now. As planned, I combined it with the good old https://brickset.com/sets/6397-1/Gas-N-Wash-Express that was already in the layout : It may change again later, I'm not fully satisfied with the result but it is good enough for the moment. More news, in the last few days I finished the Ninjago area, expanding the scenery under the train track passing in front of the city; and I also linked it to a plate (currently empty) near the truck/train loading area: (click pictures for bigger version) With a small pedestrian level crossing so the Ninjago area and the City area are really linked: A low bridge across water and a better support for the turn across the void: I'm happy with that part now, but I'm afraid that Lego may release a third "Ninjago Modular" : what woud I do ? I don't have space left around there...

Same for me, I was expecting to have to do more changes as usually the non-modular buildings look tiny in comparison, but it was rather easy in the end. In my case I added a row of bricks at the bottom and one at the top, as I've put it at the side of the Assembly Square which is a little bigger than the Dinner (link).
