  1. I'll go with average. They're decent respectable figures, but nothing remarkable. The one guy is way too blue. I'd give him more variety. Maybe brown or grey. Pop his arms off and replace them with dark grey or light grey or brown and give him the same color pants. What torso did you use for the old man? Steve
  2. Any chance the good people at eurobricks could step up and help their American AFOL bretheren out? Any North American people who are disappointed, be sure to sign the the Classic-Castle petition. I figure one big petition is more effective than a dozen small ones... Steve
  3. Doesn't look very courthouse-y to me. It is a decent wild-west building though. Steve
  4. I've noticed that too. I have a ton of 1x1 round plates (and bricks) and don't have much use for them. At least not in the quantities that I have them in. At the same time, I never seem to have enough 1x1 regular plates and bricks. Steve
  5. I like the idea. I imagine it would be Caveman vs. T-Rex or something like that. Steve
  6. Here's some that I did: Pumpkins and Wheat. More pumpkins. Grapes. Corn. More corn. Sprouting crops. A brickshelf search turned up these: Crops. Various plants. Farm. I know there are others, Steve
  7. Uh, no thanks... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,410603,00.html Steve
  8. Check out this screen shot from foxnews: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Misc/foxnews.jpg Here's the story that goes with it: Story. Steve
  9. Is there anyway to audit this class? Steve
  10. Check out the Great Basin in Johnny's latest update. Steve

    City '09?

Ugh, I'm not sure I'm liking the cows much. They look a little too duplo-esque for me. Maybe the final designs will be better? At this point, I think I prefer the fan made ones. Steve
  12. Replied. Steve
  13. Interesting to see plumes in there. I thought we were told they were gone for good. I wonder if these are preliminary pictures. The quality seems too high to be too preliminary, but the extensive reuse of faces makes me think prelim... New molds I see: -Spyglass/Torch -Flame -Dynamite -Fish? Parts in new colors: -Two-toned parrot -Red Octopus (duh...) -Dark green head wrap -Gold hook -Gold epaulettes Really not that much, when you think of a new line... Steve
  14. Looks like some nice parts, figures and accessories. Not real sold on the set designs, though. The Kraken Attackin' is not at all what I'd envisioned, both for the better and the worse. Now why couldn't they have included a cow in one of those sets? Steve

    City '09?

Yay for farms! But, where's the pony? I guess I can't complain too much, since we've got cows. Here's hoping the subtheme will continue and give us sheep and pigs... Steve
  16. Cows! I'm so excited. Its about time! Yay for farming! Pirates are just so, so. The ship doesn't do it for me. Too tall. The kraken attackin' is both disappointing and somehow a relief. The figures look good though. Where are the castle pictures? Steve
  17. Why are we deleting the set names? They're all over the board in other threads and all over other forums and blogs. On to the sets, I'm hoping these are remakes. Its disappointing to see them resorting to remakes this early in the SB franchise... Steve
  18. Well since they put the apostrophe in Attackin', it seems intentional. And the cache page clearly says Kraken Attackin'. So everything, at this stage, points to that as the official name. No, Kraken is spelt properly. Steve
  19. Kraken Attackin' sounds like a made up joke name to me... Steve
  20. There is lots of stuff: crowns, the new gold goblets, the new gold armor, the dwarf helmets... Steve

    ForbiddenCove

As I recall, that didn't turn out so well... Steve
  22. I don't buy it. There is so much left to be done and the line appears to be a success. Either you're trying to mess with us, you misunderstood, or your source misunderstood. As to the catalog, maybe there won't be any new sets in the first '09 season, but there are still summer and fall and winter releases to consider. Steve
  23. I hadn't seen this one and its kind of creepy. Steve
  24. I bet it won't be nearly as pricey as the Death Star. No minifigures to drive the price up and no licensing fees. Also its mostly basic bricks, so that'll keep it cheaper. Still will be pricey, just not as bad as everyone thinks. I figure UCS DS or ISD prices. Imagine how cool it would look along side the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. Steve
  25. Some pictures of the contenders would help. Steve
