  1. Actually I just make them seem a lot more interesting than they really are... Taking the minifigures along, however, does seem to make even the duller spots seem just a little more fun. Steve

    Lego Boxes

I usually just toss them out. I used to save some, but didn't have room to store them and didn't want to move them. Plus they get damaged easily. So I usually just throw them out. Haven't had any older boxes to consider saving lately. Never bothered to save any in my younger days... Steve
  3. While going through some old photos, I found some more travels that never made it into their own posts: The Travels of Johnny Thunder Steve
  4. Were they in the Lego aisle or somewhere else? Was this in a US Walmart? Are there Walmarts outside the US? Steve
  5. That's going to be one small Echo Base (that's the Hoth base, right?). Steve

    City '09?

Camper sounds interesting. As does the life set, though could that just be the minifigure set we've already seen? Steve
  7. Only three castle sets. That seems a few too few... I guess the queen could be in the drawbridge set. Are we sure she is coming with a castle set and not pirates or some other line? Seems like I heard talk about some "mystery line" in the future. Not sure if the theme was mystery or if the actually theme was unknown and therefore a mystery... Steve
  8. I haven't seen one. I only know of the six long ones like you mention. Steve
  9. Looks like we're getting a new castle wall piece: Not sure how I feel about this yet. Steve
  10. Johnny and Pippin go adventuring in Utah: http://johnny-thunder.blogspot.com/ Steve
  11. Check out my latest blog project: The Road Crossing Blog Steve
  12. Then lets get reviewing. Steve
  13. I just wish the design of the 6059 mirrored the design of 6085. The wall design was noticeably different. And the levels didn't line up properly. The older grey castle sets fit together much better. Still they are both very nice sets. I think you should have included Black Monarch's Ghost in this too, since it also had a modular design. Steve
  14. Maybe someone could create an index of the most pointless brickshelf folders? Steve
  15. My only criticism is who would do an autopsy (or is that vivisection) in their bedroom? Especially on something as gross as an orc. Just think of the mess he'll have to clean up... Steve
  16. I don't think Star Trek would be very conducive to Lego sets. Nearly every set (e.g. all the Enterprises and other starships and stations) would have to be huge, like the minifig scale ISD. There just isn't enough ideas for iconic sets at a smaller scale. Sure you could have a shuttlecraft or two, but that's about it. On a self aggrandizing note, here are my Star Trek MOCs. Steve
  17. The crappy spelling monster... Where is the mummy? Definitely my favorite. Dracula would probably be 2nd. Steve

When I was little, we used to have banty chickens. One of them, 'Mr. Peep' was a rooster that would come when you called him... At least until he tangled with a neighbors full sized chicken. Then he didn't go anywhere... He looked a lot like the white one here. When we buy a house I'm hoping it will have enough room to have a few chickens in the yard... Steve
  19. I'd imagine it is the blocks from under the plane wheels. Marion bonked the german pilot on the head with them. Steve
  20. I feel the complete opposite of MK. I think Castle is much better for MOCing. Practically everything from Star Wars of reasonable MOCing size has been done in an official set. I guess you could try to do a Star Wars styled MOC, but that doesn't appeal to me. Castle seems to have more possibility for creativity. Steve
  21. Short-Round's face looks terrible. Steve
  22. Here is a link to the wikipedia article with pictures. I must say, you've kind of missed it. You really need that second story and a veranda/balcony. I think it would be more accurate to call it a MOC inspired by the Appomattox Courthouse. Steve
  23. Its a little plain. Some landscaping would help a lot. Maybe some pictures of the original would help us with comparisons. Steve
  24. Now that's not very nice. Steve
  25. The landscaping is quite good. And I like the windows on the side (though some of the arched window pieces might make them look nicer). The side entrance on the river is a nice touch and the sign posts are great little details. My only real suggestion is that I think it needs to be slightly taller. It looks sort of squashed with the front balcony/entrance being so close in height to the beginning of the roof. A few bricks is all that it would take. Steve
