What kind of bridge do you plan on building? One that can be raised to let boats puss underneath would be cool.

Have you tried using a cam and a 'leaver' on a conventional set up to push/pull the selector in the further out one?

Zooming in on a step in MLCAD
Alasdair Ryan replied to bats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I may have miss read your question but you could try using the 'pan mode' or the 'zoom mode' found in the MLcad tool box. -

The report member button on the 'member profile' page has been broken for ages and for all the members,I did mention it a while back but nothing happened. Instead we have to use the report button on that topic to alert staff.

Instruction Miner vs. LPub
Alasdair Ryan replied to bats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I use MLcad to add steps or rota steps.if the model is big, I split the whole model into sub models (separate files). I don't use the 'group function' a lot in ether SR3D or MLcad. -

Kristel's guide can be found here. I wrote a small bit on using buffer exchange which can be found in the guide (although the actual guide on this is on my blog). -

Instruction Miner vs. LPub
Alasdair Ryan replied to bats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Yes Lpub is much better, you can do a lot more with Lpub that you can with the instruction miner with SR3D. I only use SR3D for building, then I switch software and use MLcad before get the model ready for Lpub. -
Any updates on custom parts/bricks?
Alasdair Ryan replied to pauldk's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
What about creating a clear sticker to make 'horizontal bars'? Lego all ready make some windows with bars on them (sticker),but not all the way up to the top of the window, which are on Bricklink. Or you could try the plates with the 'door rail' and fix them from the inside. -

Lego PF Accelerator Module
Alasdair Ryan replied to cgg199's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I only way I can think of doing it,is by using another battery box (you could use a old 9v battery) which is connected to a motor that controls the rechargeable battery box's speed out-put. -
MLCAD to SR 3D Builder
Alasdair Ryan replied to bats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Lpub is not the problem,The problem is that SR3D does not read MLcad's step commands. For ease is better to split the model down as we go along in sub-models,which later we will add all the files together in MLcad/Lpub.
