I know you both are not trying to put us in a bad light and I don't mind this discussion. If you have more facts linking any viruses with EB then let us know the details. With facts I mean screenshots, links loading that you think shouldn't be loading when on Eurobricks, anything concrete so we can investigate/reproduce/...

I'm not saying impossible, but at least it's highly unlikely that Eurobricks is the cause of any virus infection on your PCs. If you have more facts, please post them and we will do our best to investigate. When your browser loads our frontpage it's also loading (for example) all pics that are not hosted on our domain and the google ads. So during loading of our site you might see some URLs not pointing to eurobricks.com. This is normal. If anyone else experiences similar issues, please post them here (with as much details as possible) and we will look into them. But it's extremely unlikely EB is the cause of any virus infection on your PCs. Just out of precaution I'm doing a number of checks, but nothing extraordinary came out so far.

One week ago we seriously upgraded our server because we were experiencing slowness due to the increased traffic. Personally I'm noticing a huge difference with everything going much faster now. I can't remember ever seeing a more realistic looking medieval village made with LEGO. It's a real joy looking at the pictures and all the little details all over this MOC

By accident I stumbled on this thread and really enjoyed reading how you have restored the 'mother of all classic sets'. Especially the way you've restored the stickers shows a lot of devotion and passion!

Yes, this time we could keep our server IP address so there was no DNS update needed. When the IP address has to be changed it usually causes a long downtime 24h+ for this change to ripple through to all Internet DNS servers.

Few hours ago our server was upgraded and most resources are now doubled. We hope this will end the occasional slowness of our site which occurred these past few weeks. Read the full announcement here.

I found Eurobricks very much by accident (think I was via Google) and posted some pics of my Napoleonic army in the pirates forum. I was surprised by the friendly responses and so I stayed around. At the time I didn't yet know that there was a 'Eurobricks' outside of the pirates forum Few months later it took some initiatives in the pirates forum (made some indexes) and I was noticed by Mister Phes and later 'recruited' as Pirate Moderator. Some time passed and Jipay promoted me to Global Moderator and next Root Admin (because of my engineering skills). We're now 5 and a half years later I'm still here, went to 3 events (such great times!) and I'm not going anywhere soon. I only have one place on the Internet where I feel "at home" and that's right here.

Dear member and guests, Few hours ago our server was upgraded and most resources are now doubled. We hope this will end the occasional slowness of our site which occurred these past few weeks. Due to the increased visitors of our site - 900 people at the same time on Eurobricks is an average during certain periods of the day - we were lacking mainly CPU power to cope with this high traffic. Our CPU resources have now been increased (and we have one more core) while at the same time we doubled the memory of our server. Let's hope this will give us the speeds we all want. - The Eurobricks Admins

Yes, that may very well be. I'm hoping we can still fix all this in the coming days, so before the holidays (at least when they start here in Belgium which is in one week). With the increasing amount of visitors on Eurobricks our webserver is sometimes using a lot of CPU and is reaching the limits of our current system. Most probably the solution will be to move this entire site to a more powerful server. The details and exact timing are still being discussed with our provider.

All: I removed some posts from this topic that were about discussing the upcoming LoTR line. For that purpose we have a topic in the History forum

I know we are still having some slowness and some tests on our server are still ongoing. I promise we'll find a solution and implement it in the near future because we want this place to run super smooth all the time.
