  1. Happy B-day Zorro, wherever you are.

I passed by your house today (what a coincidence) and passed the church were we met for the last time.

  2. On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of April (so in one week) the biggest Belgian LEGO event takes place: Brickmania Wetteren (Belgium, near Ghent). Of course Eurobricks and Classic-Pirates.com will be present: One display will be a big sea battle with sailing ships with ships while another display will contain MOC trains amongst other things. We'll be there on Saturday (not the Sunday - difficult to sell 2 days with our wives ). There will be a lot more to see at this event, and I've been told that some LEGO designers will be there the entire weekend. Link to topic in the forums
  3. Olympic Collectible Minifig Series (thanks Brickfanatics and Brickset)! It's a special edition licensed LEGO Minifigures Olympic edition with 9 characters representing athletes in Team GB colors. Developed for the UK market and exclusively available in the UK. True or very good hoax? Link to the forum topic
  4. On Saturday 21st of April together with Captain Green Hair and some other Eurobrickers you can find us on the Brickmania event in Wetteren (Belgium, near Ghent). You can expect to see a big sailing ship battle (with frigates, ship of the line, xebec, galleon, etc.) and more There will be a lot more to see at this event, which is the oldest and biggest LEGO event in Belgium. Some LEGO designers will be there entire weekend to answer your questions and talk about their work.
  5. megablocking X-factor idiots
  6. Welcome! South Africa is such a wonderful country which I hope to visit one day.
  7. Congratulations, this is a big achievement!
  8. When was the last time you heard about a Zombie MOC on TV ? That’s right, it was yesterday evening in the Conan O’Brien show! Check out this video of Simon Pegg talking about the Shaun of the Dead / Winchester CUUSOO project (starts around 3’40”). And if you have not done it yet… do as Simon says and go vote for it on CUUSOO! Discuss the MOC and the project here on EB.
  9. Our member GRogall shares HR official pics of the upcoming Lord of the Rings sets. Picture is link.
  10. Good to have you back! Tomorrow I'll delete this topic and the Fry account. Topic closed.
  11. Check your PM
  12. That's great news, I hope this works out
  13. We still have a bunch of people coming to the review, so still some slowness effects from time to time. Seems that all the major AFOL sites are linking to the review, so no surprise this is draining resources. I do think the storm is almost over and hope we don't have to trouble Whitefang for changing all the links on this existing review. Also as a countermeasure I just moved up our webserver 'maxclients' by half to cope with the traffic.
  14. Due to a very popular set review, for which we hosted the pictures on the Eurobricks webserver, our site has been extremely slow yesterday. Things are pretty much back to normal now and we are working on a solution to prevent this in the future (probably hosting the picture off-site). Sorry for any inconvenience!
  15. Yes, that's the root cause. It's caused because the pictures of this review are hosted on the EB server. I think for future reviews (especially those with many pics) we should host them again off-site (on Flickr) to avoid this impact on the speed of EB.
  16. We'll miss you there Captain!
  17. Awesome picture! Neptunus and his crown will be awesome as a ships figurehead. But I'm not seeing that Scottish fig with the pipes.
  18. Quite an adventure you guys had due to the unfortunate destruction of the Vesta. I'm glad though that you plan to rebuild the ship!

    Farewell

I remember when you were first appointed Star Wars moderator during troubled time for Eurobricks (with some of the old Star Wars staffers leaving). Your positive energy was inspiring; the way you revived this place was better than anyone could have expected. Thanks to you the force is again strong in our Star Wars forum! While I'm sad to see you resign I'm also very happy for you getting the job of your dreams. And I'm proud that a Eurobricks staff member is hired by LEGO which says a lot about the quality in our staff team.
  20. Currently 36 people have signed-up for our 2012 Eurobricks Event in Billund Denmark. If you have never visited the Valhalla of LEGO, this is your chance to do it together with Eurobricks. Our events have a strong tradition starting back in 2004 and stand for fun, relaxing and more of both. Don't miss this opportunity and sign-up for the event taking place on Thursday 10th of May, Friday 11th of May and Saturday 12th of May. On the Friday evening we have the Eurobricks presentation where we'll do a 'behind the scenes' tour of Eurobricks (and more!). In the sign-up thread you can see the list of people who have confirmed their attendance so far. More info about the event is available here
  21. Super, I added you to the list
  22. Updating them in real time is possible, but it would be more resource demanding on the server. That's why we introduced this delay a long time ago when server power was an issue. I will look into changing the setting so it's again updated in real time.
  23. Just cased my vote! Glad to see this once more. Such a beautiful new version of a classic pirate set
  24. Welcome, I'll write your name on the list! Friday evening is the EB presentation, discussion about LEGO, the only community, EB, and much more...
  25. We'll 'help' you take care of that. Read this and things will become clear I hope. Let me know. In short, we had 3 people waiting for a spot in a chalet (which contains ideally 5 people to get the best price for all in the chalet). With you coming that makes 4 people, so we're going in the right direction to fill another chalet or at least you can divide the cost by 4. Let's wait a bit and see who else might come, I'm pretty sure we'll see more people joining You'll come for the entire event, right? I'm sure you'll feel right at home.
