That's a big (and beautiful) ship you're building. Will you put it on display somewhere or are you just building it for fun? Do you still have the other ships that are in your brickshelf folder or are you reusing the parts?
-
This set is only good for the figs and it's bricks. Don't bother building it!

You're a real artist Mr. BaronSat. There are some very fine sets in your shop.

I think it should be possible to open it on different levels to see the interior. There can be some defence mechanism inside (like in the real pyramids), a grave tomb, secret corridors, a hidden treasure. How can you play with this pyramid :-) ? Looks good, but it's boring indeed!

Selling such a fine baseplate? Dear Governor, WHY? Well, I once sold a Skull's Eye Schooner and a Black Seas Barracuda on BL :-$ .

I think you're right Mr. Tiber. Thanks! That's also my concern. That it will be to dark with the brown panes. Using the reddish-brown panes will introduce a 4th color in the ship. This might be a bit to much maybe. And the white doesn't seem to go well with the rest of the ship. It's a difficult choice....... Maybe I have to start using one of these simulator programs to see the result in advance.

Ah yes, I resized one picture of the Santa Maria to put a link in this thread (the original size was a bit to big). Still, it is a big honour to have your ship in my brickshelf folder :-D

I can't decide on the color for the window panes for the ship (the windows itself will be black). Black Window Window Pane Any suggestions? Currently I think brown might be the best choice for the panes (since the hull is also brown). The available colors are: blue, brown, green, pink, Reddish brown, white, yellow. Red is not available, but this might have been a bit to much.

Lets discuss it here. I love this baseplate. These buildings integrate very will with it. One day I want to buy one to make something similar like this MOC. The colors combine very well and I like the overall look. I would like to know if there is something inside of the buildings and if they can be opened. It looks however like there is a parrot plague on this island :-)

From an artistic point of view this is a nice ship. It's original and funny. But I like more realistic ship designs and with a real crew. For the same reason I don't like POTC.

I just had a look at their site. Some of their custom helmets look really good. Maybe I will buy some in the future.

Yes, they are.

Indeed Mr. Norrington, I'm planning to make the entrance to the cabin below deck (same as the Surprise, English ship from Master and Commander). Maybe I make the wall between the gundeck and the cabin removable, so during battle the cabin can be used for a different purpose (medical facility, marines preparing for boarding, ...).

Nice to have you with us Mr. Dyrstadt! I agree with you that adding one more hull section will make your ship even better. Also it need sails. We have a good tutorial made by Evil Willy. I think it involves paper and coffee :-). Do you plan to make some pictures with the crew on the ship?

I'm playing a bit with the colors and the line of the ship. I think this is about what I want (still some bricks have the wrong color and the windows are still not the right ones).

I prefer the Royal King's Castle. Good colors, not to many big pieces and better minifigs.

I have send an email to Bo to invite him to join the discussion (was able to trace him via bricklink). So maybe he'll be here soon....

A very beautiful medieval ship. The sails look good and I like the color combinations. The 2 castle's give the ship a medieval touch. Very original design!

Just discovered this remake of the Santa Maria on Brickshelf. This ship looks a bit different than the ones that have already been on display in this forum. It has a beautiful color scheme and very nice details. Although it's s a very high ship (2 gun-decks) with only 3 hull mid-sections, it still looks good. Not easy to do. The brickshelf folder contains an overview from the design of the ship until it was finished.

Hello Voltigeur, I'm very happy to have another Napoleonic fan on the forum. You are more than welcome! I'm looking forward to see pictures of you cuirassiers and rifles. I will update the pictures of my army in about a month from now since it has changed (grown) a lot. The reason my french eagles are not on top of the flag is because that's how it was in Sharpe's Eagle. Can it be that this changed over the years (Sharpe's Eagle was during the campaign of the Peninsulla)? I know that in waterloo, the eagles were on the flags. Maybe I have to change this in my army. I agree that the voltigeurs of the guard had green epaulettes but the voltigeurs of the line regiments had yellow epaulettes lined green and the volitigeurs of the light infantry had Yellow and green epaulettes (and since lego doesn't have any green epaulettes ...). Probably most music bands in the army of Napoleon had the same uniform as the other soldiers but here is an example of a yellow band-uniform. I also saw this in a Sharpe movie, but I can't remember which one it was. The pictures on www.nanweb.org are great. I'm a frequent visitor of the battlefield of Waterloo. Have you been there already? Ofcourse I understand dutch. I'm from Belgium :-).

I just watched Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World again (for the 5th time maybe?). This is one of my all time favorite movies. It's just perfect!!!! I'm building a ship link the Surprise (the ship of Russel Crowe).

Looks great Steve. I never saw a real viking village, but this looks very good and realistic. The tree with the snow is beautiful (never seen before, is it from Belville set?).
-
Just add 2 guns and we can call it a Gun-brig or Cutter ;-)
-
I added it to the library (Spanish) Good find oo7!

Looks like a very well fortified little harbour. The interior of the bar looks really great with nice details (like the lamp).
