I discovered a folder with minifig recreations of important persons and even Gods. Posted the Aztec Gods and others in the Pirate MOC forum, but some are more relevant here. The nice thing is they are all made from real Lego parts. This is from a forum member that only posted once some time ago, so maybe he'll join the discussion. Greek gods (the individual Gods are show in the folder): BS folder Norse gods (the individual Gods are show in the folder): BS folder Historic leaders like Caesar and Alexander the Great (many more are in the BS folder). You're right. He only made one post but has so much to offer... The good news is that he was last active on 10 september so he's still around.

Whispers in the dark...better Castle?
Bonaparte replied to TroyTMoore's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I hope this is true, but after reading all the information in this thread and on classic-castle, I find no proof. Only the word of a mysterious shop owner that might have been drunk :-) -
Nice little story. I enjoyed reading it!

Pirates Of The Caribbean - The Curse Of The Black Pearl
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in Pirate MOCs
For a man that has been deserted by his own troops you have a big mouth Mr. Whip. I just might send a few of my regiments to that little island of yours and you and your king George can call me EMPEROR *skull* -
I'm not interested to building something real life size even if I had the bricks. My lego creations are all on minifig scall and thats how I like it.

Today I have a bit of a storage problem. I had to store my Star Wars collection (star destroyer, rebel blockade runner and these space consuming sets) with my grandmother. I'm not really interested in them anymore anyway. But next year I'm building my house and here is a big hobby-room foreseen for my Lego! I had to convince my girlfriend that such a room was really necessary :-).

Happy to have you here Danilo! Now we can ask you our questions regarding your ship. So it is your goal to finish the ship completely (I certainly hope so)? It would be great to see some progress pictures in the future! Thanks for sending me the ML-Cad designs. I have to admit that I never used ML-Cad but I have been planning to install it for some time now. This looks like a good opportunity, so I will give it a try this evening.

First contact has been made! I send him an email he just can't refuse :-). Great work Governor. You must have worked in the intelligence bussines (spy?) before!

What next tutorial will you write Mr. Phes?

You make me feel old *sad*

I remember that the English ship from Master and Commander was also yellow and black. Same for all the English ships in the Hornblower series. The french ships however are mostly red and black. I really wonder why this was like that and what is the meaning and origin of these colors. I have no clue who the creator of this ship is. The only info is his user name "serdan73". Sound a bit Turkish to me. I always try to send the BL builders an email to join the discussion but this won't be possible for this ship.

It is my dream to build a ship like in your picture one day Mr. Phes. This must be a "Ship of the Line". Is this color combination (yellow and black) typical for English ships during the Napoleonic erea?

Decoding Lego Hieroglyphics
Bonaparte replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Lets continue the exploration. These are from the Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins set. I guess that they are scenes from the Egyptian "Book of Death" adapted by Lego Any experts that know the exact meaning? -
I enjoyed watching these pictures! Some things I didn't like: - The robot attacking the castle - The buldozer attacking the wall - The black falcon with the machine gun.

I'm always curious howmuch an average AFOL is spending on Lego. More specificaly on pirate/imperial/islanders related Lego. Maybe this is an indiscrete question :-$ , but you don't have to respond if you don't want. Let me start, I'm having a monthly Lego budget of about 150 euro (193USD). This I spend mostly on minifigs, ebay sets and parts for my MOCs.
-
It's not really my experience that Imperial soldiers and guards are much cheaper in Belgium, France and Germany. Sometimes you can do a rather good deal, but you have to be constantly monitoring. I must say that I only try to buy them with at least the shako and epauletes included on ebay. The missing parts I buy from time to time on BL in great amounts (e.g. backpacks for soldiers). Shipping cost from France are crazy most of the time and the German shipping prices are also going up lattely 8-| I'm equaly buying on ebay (43 purchases) and bricklink (48 purchases). Complete sets I never buy on bricklink, only ebay. I'm a rather big spender on Lego. My average/month is about 150 euro (193USD).

Pirates Of The Caribbean - The Curse Of The Black Pearl
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in Pirate MOCs
I always feels like a birth when a new member joins the pirate forum :-). What kind of creations have you got to share with us Col. Whipstick? Happy to have you here! -
A beautiful ship under construction with some nice details. I hope the author will finish it and put updated pictures in this BS folder. He didn't provide any contact info so we'll just have 1 way communication for now. You can see the gallery here.

Good luck with your studies! But make sure you still have some qualitly lego time to relax your mind.

LEGO Islander MOCs - Got one? found one? Post it here
Bonaparte replied to KAHUKA's topic in Pirate MOCs
I hope your gold ships were not captured by pirates Lord Admiral? -
Looking very good Lord Admiral. The front of the ship would require some modification I think. Also the black in the mid sections should maybe go a bit up and around the entire ship. E.g.: -----______----- Or maybe not :-). You probably simulated this already to see the results. Do you plan to build this beauty in the future?

Howmany? Good question. My french army is reaching a good size but I'm still buying a lot. Today I bought these on ebay. I will still expand it. In parallel I'm building my English army and that's also reaching a nice size. This is a picture of my riffle company as it looks today: This is a rather long term project, but by next summer my armies should be ready to rule the world as no lego army did before >:-) . My problem is that I'm not only buying stuff for my English and French armies, but I'm also building a black falcon army, building a frigate, buying castles and adventurers sets. I should maybe focus on 1 thing instead. Welcome to the forum Andreas! Your ideas would be more than welcome. Like Voltigeur pointed out, the busbys of the hussars are made from 2x and 3x .
