  1. Would 1000MB of webspace be sufficient to host a forum?
  2. So this would mean there are 2 costs involved: 1. Buying a domain name (e.g. eurobricks.com) and linking this to your forum url. 2. Paying a forum-provider like IPB to host your forum? If you don't use something like IPB but a free forum instead, you will probably have to live with some advertisements?
  3. Well, the forum will be about party-ing in my hometown. I'm pretty sure such a forum does not exist for my hometown. I would like to buy a url to direct to the forum and must be sure it is going to be there for years. So I'm a bit uncertain about a free forum. Does anyone actually pay for the eurobricks forum or is it a free service?
  4. I'm happy to see you discovered this beautiful ship Mr. Tiber. It seems a bit unfair that it was getting so little feedback.
  5. It would be fantastic if we (people from the pirate forum) could make such a movie with our own story. But I guess this would probably be to difficult/time consuming ?
  6. I even didn't notice these sails are not original. Good color match. Did you print the yellowish part of the sails or did you find paper that had this color.
  7. Didn't realise till now how difficult it is to build a good looking front to a ship. Just build a first version for the Excalibur and it looks very very bad *wacko* . It will have to invest some serious time to get it right.
  8. I would like to start a forum on a subject that has nothing to do with Lego. But my question is, what steps are needed to get a forum (like eurobricks) up and running. And even more important, what does it cost? Thanks for your feedback!
  9. Indeed, I also didn't know that. The light grey treasure chest only appears in this set:
  10. Happy to see you have accepted my invitation to post your castle in this forum. Nice to have you here!!! Well, this is a beautiful and rather big castle. I like the colors and all the little details you put into it. You must have done some castle building before?
  11. Wow, that makes me unique! I'm the only one that doesn't like POTC (and I have seen the first movie :-X ).
  12. I did some more recruiting for my French army. They will soon form the 6th and 7th "regiment of the line" once I have made the flags and eagles. They don't have their muskets yet but are eager to go the the battlefield. I plan to make a new thread in the future showing better pics and some action pics of my French and British armies. And this is a picture of my completed Imperial Hussar regiment:
  13. I still don't like POTC and will not watch the movies :-) But I posted this for all those who don't agree with me.
  14. You are really looking at details Mr. Scotty :-). Nice to have you here. I was wondering if you are already working on the front of the Archeron. Personaly I find this one of the most difficult parts.
  15. Just found a scene from POTC reconstructed with Lego on BS (was in the same folder as this thread posted by oo7). Anybody who has seen the movie recognizes the scene?
  16. Very nice! How do they make this???
  17. I love this thread *wub* Keep those nice cat pics coming.... (dogs smell :-P )
  18. Can't vote because I like both equally in a different way. I have about 50% pirate and 50% castle.
  19. I like this ship. It's not yet perfect, but could be improved a lot with some minor changes. What I like is the color scheme, its size, the big amount of guns, its crew. I agree that it would be better to use different sails, maybe with a custom made drawing printed on the sails, that match with the ships color scheme. What I can't see from this pictures is the inside of the ship. This is an important issue when I make a MOC. I like it to be "playable". So every part of the ship/MOC should be easy accessible (e.g. via removable panels). Can you give some feedback (or better, pictures) on this Mr. ZCerberus? I like very much the "world" you are creating with lego. Hope to see some more of your work in the future. About the "dust problem": I use a air-compressor and toothbrush to undust my lego. Not a nice job :-) I don't share this view Lord Admiral Phes. We are all imitating and improving what we imitated.
  20. Any progress with the rigging and the sails Mr. Tordenskjold? I just went through the pictures for the first time (a bit late, I know). What I like about it, is the integrated cabin. It is not too high as the BSB.
  21. The stern of your ship is looking better with the changes you did. However, is it not a problem that the guns on the gundeck go so far to the back of the ship? Will there still be enough space for your captains quaters or will he have to sleep with the rest of the officers?
  22. What I like about this ship is that it is easy to open certain parts to get access to the lower decks and the cabins. There's a big collection of figs on the ship and they are positioned well (I like the picture of crew eating). Personally I think that the colors are excelent for a spanish ship. The ships design makes me think it could be build around the year 1600 (when the spanish armada was on its way to invade britain). The figurehead with the 2 swords looks good on this ship. I don't have much ideas on how to make it better. Maybe a chrome helmet or a crown instead of the hair? Another thing you can do is put some "painted (printed)" shields on the sails. Some good examples are added to the Santa Maria thread by Mr. Phes.
  23. The shop I refer to is a Bricklink-shop. The ship will not remain empty inside. There will be cannons in the gundeck, sleeping quarters for the crew and officers. I plan to make everything in the lower deck accessible via panels that can be opened.
  24. Can't wait to see your creation Mr. Norrington. You should definately make a thread for it once you get your usb cord. The Excalibur has 5 mid-hull sections. A balcony is not forseen. I'm loosly following the design (not the color scheme) of the frigate HMS Rose (called HMS Surprise in Master and Commander). However, I'm planning to build another ship when the Excalibur is finished. One with at least 2 more mid-hull sections, 2 gun decks and with a black-yellow color scheme.
  25. Thats the first time I see a flying pirate ship :-) The air-rudder looks great.
