Tell me why would you go to such efforts if you could just use a Lego anchor from a ship set. Do you consider these anchors built of bricks to be superior to that of what the Lego Factory issued in pirate sets? I think its because of the size. Lego anchors are to small for large ships.
-
To me this ship looks to be sunk !! That's because 90% of the US Monitor was actually under water. Since torpedo's where not really effective during the civil war, the ship was quite protected (specially from canons). Eventualy the monitor did sink in a storm... I'll try to make some pictures of my MOC soon.

Is there a way to insert an image (that is on brickshelf for example) in a thread and resize it somehow to make it smaller without changing the actual .jpg? With [ img]image.jpg[/img] one can display an image (that I know). But in html you can do something like <img src="image.jpg" alt="" width="220" height="295">. Is there a similar command existing ? Thanks for helping. B.

And here is my first Polish Lancer ... They where the 1st regiment of the "Lancers of the Guard". They were to be given French instructors and training. Napoleon proclaimed "Poles, You are worthy of my Old Guard I proclaim you my bravest cavalry!". Promoted to the Old Guard, they were then given lances, remained at the Emperor's side until Waterloo, and were never defeated by enemy cavalry.

I have removed the links from the library. But if you still have the designs (on your pc) I can store them somewhere else so we can keep them in the library. Looking forward to see your new designs !!!

I'd love to see a HUGE battlescene when your done, that would be more than amazing! Could you please direct me to this url Lord Bonaparte? I've searched brickshelf for stuff like that many times before but found nothing. There is just 1 picture of this army I talked about. You can see it here. Can't really call it an organised army, since it has no cavalry or officers. But it has 202 line infantry (blue imperial soldiers) armed with muskets. Another big army can be seen here. Same story, about 215 imperial soldiers (and some artillery) but no officers, cavalery, imperial guard, ... I'm planning to add polish lancers (raised in 1807 while the Red Lancers where raised in 1810). I already made a prototype torso. But I still have to find some time to perfect it. Once it's finished, I'll post it in the torso library. Just bought 21 shako's on BL specialy for these guys. I would love to see some pics of your miniatures.
-
Well, I have a regiment of old guard grenadiers. I'm raising new regiments all the time. Lately I added lots of officers to my army (still waiting for some blue plumes I ordered on BL). Will post some pictures soon. Also I'm making more french hussars. I'm actually keeping an arms race :-). Saw a picture on brickshelf of a guy that has more imperial soldiers than me. Can't let that happen ...
-
Yeah, I know... I'll throw them away.
-
I did a good deal on ebay this Tuesday. Could buy 20 imperial soldiers for 37,5 euro (+5 euro shipment). Also just bought another great set I always wanted (not really pirates, but Napoleon did a campaign in Egypt...) I hope there are no "surprises" when I receive the Lego.

It's very normal that someone disappears from the forum for some time and then returns. I myself was on a 1 month holiday in the month of July. So it probably looked like I had disapeared. I'm not in favor of sending emails to ask for a response unless its really urgent. I'm not sure about this. Mr. Mathews has pledged himself to the pirate forum, so he owes the pirate fanatics the respect to notify us when he leaves (unless it's an emergency, like death for instance, but let's hope he hasn't made his last breath just yet! :-P). Maybe we need a shore leave button to identify pirates who will be away for a while? How does Mister Phes plan to address the issue of dormant pirate members? That's a good idea to have a standard way to indicate that you will be unavailable for some time (e.g. long holiday, ...). But I see that AdmMatthew was last active on 23rd September 2006 - 04:16 AM. That's not so long ago....
-
That's a good idea. How did you find out that he is from Belgium? He wont' mind since he has put his email@ on every picture. Gewoon doen ;-) I dunno if he is Belgian, perhaps he is... unless someone else already did, I think I'll do it... But now I still don't know how you could find out that he is Dutch (or belgian) ...

If I have to chose from the list, I take the Black Falcons. I've been collecting them for quite some time now. Here you can see my army going for war :-) BUT my #1 minifigs are the red and blue imperial soldier (as you can see in my signature).
-
I love the idea! I have some more to share soon. I have just finished some to be proud of, and I'm always ready for ideas from others. Sir ScottLego, do you have already some pictures available of the new uniforms that you are designing? If they look as good as the others you made... can't wait to see them.
-
I have almost no blue hats :-D ... And I think the lego blue hats are not dark enough anyway. Maybe I should paint some with my airbrush.
-
I know what you mean Mr. Phes. Was just joking :-D Having myself 2 jobs (1 week and 1 weekend) AND a girlfriend ....
-
You must have too much free time Mr Phes :-).

Some Pirate-esque Adventures mocs by Polska95
Bonaparte replied to oo7's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The library is awsome. So much details. It must have taken a very long time and lots of brick to make it. I wonder if it was buiid for an exibition? Also the pictures are very professional. The creator must have great artictic skills. -
Well, I don't have a lot of civil war minifigs from lego. But I have lots of blue and black minifigs ... Also, I wanted to build a complete army and since lego has only a soldier, lieutenant and colonel I made all the ranks. Another reason might be that I have too much free time :-).
-
Since the union officers uniforms are very dark blue, I made them in black. Here are some blue versions of the union officers that match with the standard blue minifig arms:
-
Anybody wants to build a union army? Well, here's my collection of uniforms ... All you need is a good knife, some pritt and a bit of patience! union officer uniform union officer gala uniform union soldier shoulder straps non-commisioned officers union officer belt The uniforms cover the entire torso, so the color doesn't matter.

Historic MOCs/Themes Inspired by Movies
Bonaparte replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The movies Stargate, Indiana Jones (1,2,3), The Mummy have partly inspired my to buy more sets of the adventurers and to start building a piramid in lego (I might post some pictures of my progress). I love movies/book where history and a fictional story are mixed (Da Vinci code, Hornblower, gladiator, Master and commander, National Treasure, ...) and with lego you can continue the story once the movie is finished ... -
I finally had the time to make my perfect captain. The left captain is the original, the right captain is with my modifications. The paper now also covers the sides of the torso. Small difference, lots of work :-)
