First images from the Event 2007!!!!
Bonaparte replied to ApophisV's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Can you tell who is who on the picture? -
I've just watched the movie "The Alamo" (2004 version) again. It's clear that the Mexican army (and their uniforms) look a lot like the French under Bonaparte. I even think some of the uniforms are an improvement over the French uniforms. Especially the uniforms of their officers (as shown in this picture) look very good. Santa Anna was called by some the Napoleon of the West, but his skills as a commander really cannot be compared with those of Napoleon.

Is there a reason why you've put 1824 in that Mexican flag? According to what I understand from the wikipedia article on the battle of the Alamo, this flag was used by the defenders of the Alamo to protest the abrogation of the Constitution of 1824 (which stated that Mexico should have a loose central government which supported states rights). So I wouldn't expect a Mexican flag with 1824 on a fortress that's under control of the Mexican army. I might be wrong, because all I know comes from the mentioned wiki-article and this part of the article didn't have a reliable source. That's why I ask.

Napoleonic War Gaming Attribute Idea's
Bonaparte replied to Fordo's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Welcome Mr. Fordo! I noticed you've been reading our board and wondered why you never posted anything. Who could have guessed you are a Napoleonic army builder! Your army seems like a match for my French army. It's good that they are not British or I might have been in trouble :-D. Now I can't wait to see pictures of your French and Prusian armies . If you plan to add those pics in this thread (somewhere in the future), then we can leave it in the MOC forum. I'm also interested in a war game, but have no idea how this should work. -
By accident, I discovered this Islander fortress on BS: The Brickshelf folder The creator is a member of CC and his username is Hob Took.
-
I finally bought the Imperial Trading Post on eBay yesterday. It should be in perfect condition including the original box and instructions. Now I just hope the condition of the set is as good as I was told.
-
That Prince of Orange uniform is outstanding! That's one I'll be printing. I didn't remember that uniform from "Sharpe's Waterloo", so yesterday I again watch that episode. I must say that this is not the best episode from the Sharpe series. Not enough troops to be convincing. And why did they decide to put so much attention on the Prince of Orange? The episodes in Spain are much better.

Excellent work! I really like how this set looks. It could be improved with some custom decals for the Mexicans. Btw, Mr. Mosana has a thread in the pirate forum where he is accepting requests for custom decals.

My Entry for Brickster's "Wizard's Challenge"
Bonaparte replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Looking good Mr. Phes. You've made the first pirate-wizard. But the wizard seems trapped on that little island since I don't see a boat. -
Your new title is well deserved judging from these progress pictures! This part of the ship contains already more details than most completed ships.
-
There are both arguments pro and contra merging them. To keep things simple, I would leave them separated.
-
That's a fine pirate ship. It's not very big, but that's how pirates like them. Small and maneuverable. The ship is rather colorful, but the colors are well chosen. And I like the name!

10181 Eiffel Tower this August confirmed by reseller !

The scale of a minifig should be about 1/45. -
What exactly do you mean with "resized torso's" ? When you post a torso for the library, I suggest you use: dimensions: 360pixels - 300 pixels resolution: 600dpi - 600dpi Or do you want to know what the size must be to put a torso on an actual minifig?
-
You even added a Rocket Artilleryman! I remember those from the Sharpe-series. Nice how you also made the back of that torso.

French Red Lancer and Austrian Uhlan
Bonaparte replied to woody64's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Nice uniforms! Are they both infantry? Can you post them in higher resolution? Now the resolution is 96dpi x 96dpi which is a bit low (you see some problems). I normally take a resolution of 600dpi - 600dpi. -
Now I'm in heaven!!! It's great the see that someone who also lives in Belgium started collecting a Napoleonic army. First time I see your Napoleon decal on a minifig. I just printed it and it looks great on my Napoleon. I just got the idea to make a complete gray coat but I'll need to do some experimenting.
-
But oo7 recently posted new pics in the A roundabout BrickShelf Find: Port Royal thread. I think these are showing the MOCs in the movie.
-
Adding these new torso's to the library is a job I don't mind doing. With all the new torso designers that joined our ranks lately, we'll soon have a unique (and complete) collection in our library. I'll do updates every few weeks of the torso library from now on to make things a bit more efficient.
-
I guess you mean I posted one of his creations in one of our forums. Can you tell me which MOC this was? Or better, give the link to the thread it was posted in.
-
There is a BS-gallery, but it only contains 1 picture of this MOC. The title of the gallerie is: Rozne budowle dla Olafka do zabawy . I have no idea what that means :-D .
-
I think it was at Klodsfest. Pictures of the MOCs shown in this movie are in another thread: A roundabout BrickShelf Find: Port Royal .
-
I found another islander MOC on BS. It's added to the index.

Indeed that head would be more suited for a pope. But I already use that face for the chief of staff of Napoleon. Maybe I could use the Vader-face for my pope?
-
Both are still missing in our torso library. We only have a Russian officer of jaegers/chasseurs Its really great that you do this Mr. Mosana. Soon the library will contain all the missing uniforms and nations. We might even get some of the other members interested in the Napoleonic wars.
