  1. Nearly always my failures are because the vendor does not ship to my country or does not take paypal (in germany they do not have to and prefer bank transfer... ) I swear by auction sniping - yes you set your limit conventionally but with sniping you get to do it at the last second almost and that stops stubborn a$$h0l3s outbidding you because they can or want to or have nothing better to do plus its easier to set up a sniping group - and keep adding to it and and set it to one item and the sniper will stop when you are successful It can take a couple of months to get one of what you want but be patient....
  2. I must admit I nearly lost a finger when I was raising a heavy weight with my 8421 crane.... I had my finger under the boom clearing some dust bunnies when - I accidentally hit the pneumatic switch to the down position and the boom sliced down....! I am extra careful around my kids when they use that one now....
  3. simply clever marketing I like most of you have tens of thousands of pieces - but when I search for sometimes small simple models to make with the kids there's nearly always one or two parts that are exclusive to that set which we don't have so you would be more inclined to buy it - if you did have the pieces you'd just make it.
  4. Proportions are excellent - and playability perfect! but yes the colour scheme is unfortunate.... also it needs the 2x2 big headlights ....
  5. I liked its low-rider look originally as a truck - but as *the* A-team truck taller is better as its more like the original
  6. yes i'm sure it was a joke Still has got to be the ultimate crawler and 100% lego - you cannot get close to this unless you use after market tyres.....
  7. V2 works ok with two L motors on one channel on the 9398 - is this issue with the M motors only?
  8. Chrome diffs.... better than no-diffs!
  9. 80g x 4 is a heck of a saving.....
  10. Would be nice to record a sequence of motions - such as forward for 3 seconds, left for 1s etc... etc... then play it back to the lego.... remember the Bigtrak from the 80s? this is for PF and works out of the box - for bluetooth or wifi you need NXT or a dongle that would connect to the IR receiver and convert the bluetooth/wifi - would be cool though!
  11. ah didn't realise it was a paid app thought it was free for simple functions with a paid version offering macros, multiple setups and the like....
  12. ground-huggingly amazing! each time it comes back from the end of the road you must wonder how many pieces fell off - at least with IR PF controller you see them fall off as you are never that far away....
  13. I mean really old classic then - proper old timer from the 70s
  14. you can make pretty good adjustable shocks with the pheumatic piston from adding stiffer springs or pairs of springs hard/soft combo etc... to even capping them off and filling them with oil for damping (even go as far as drill small holes in the piston seal to control the flow of fluid for damping) very versatile and non visible non lego modifications which stimulate the mind indeed http://www.carbibles.com/suspension_bible_pg3.html
  15. applause! .... can't wait to see minifigs with their arms in the air.... would look great in a shop display
  16. What about the small rubber/card disc under the middle bevel gear of the diff? probably slips a bit too much (i know, I know not lego purist enough)
  17. nice looking and instantly recognizable as a BMW - but to me it looks like a classic 1602 or a 2002 (i prefer old cars anyway)
  18. maybe lego are working with Landrover behind the scenes as they are stopping production of the defender and I'm sure a smaller Landrover with some functions (but i'm sure any gearbox function will be a low/high ratio affair with a small LA or something) would make an excellent addition to the corporate gift range
  19. you'd need to add an antioxidant to keep it from going off but something cheap and replaceable as canola oil should only be a problem if you leave it in the system for years in industry they use Butylhydroxytoluene (BHT) - a well know anti-oxidant that had been used for years in the manufacturing industry as an anti-oxidant in many products, including food and food packaging
  20. Mineral oil needs compatible seals it will still rot the wrong rubber - not corrosive if spilled so the best choice for this situation Canola oil too has excellent viscousity
  21. put a hose on top and it looks like an airport fire engine
  22. Tell me more about the air suspension - are you using a pressure regulator on the pump and airtanks to keep the system presuruzed? How do you limit the driving and the off road position? Do you cross flow the cylinders (i.e front to rear inlets to outlets etc... ) for self-levelling ?
